What's with the bad reviews?! This place is the OG bomb--best onion rings in the business!!! Cheese curds and chili and taverns and patty melts are amazing--in the summer, you can get soft serve sherbet and your life will change--I promise. Way better than the Hardies four buildings away! That being said, since they have such a large menu. You should stay with Mexican, since that is their speciality. My rubin sandwich? Was very well made, for an under 21 year old chef. The bread was very high grade specialty, from a local store. With generous amounts of meat and sour krought. The only slight mistake, appears to be heating in a microwave oven. A big no no in anyone's kitchen. This did melt a piece of pre sliced cheese? But the juices from the sour krought soaked the bottom slice of bread. Have you ever seen what Hardies does in their production line? Way more of an amateur hour. read more

This was a great lunch stop! We were a bit overwhelmed by the huge menu but after a few minutes of tough decision making we both found something perfect for us. The menu varies from broasted chicken to burgers to pot roast and Mexican plates to a variety of pasta dishes. Seriously, if the whole family can't find something they like here, you're broken. The service is order at the counter then seated delivery service (think Culver's). It was quick and done by a super nice girl. I want to go back already. One downside, the decor is totally mismatched and needs a brand update. read more

The swirled sherbet is super! A nice family restaurant. The only drawback is the Tyson packing plant across the street. read more

Holy Crap!!! Such a huge menu! how to even chose what you want. Three indecisive people at a restaurant with unlimited options. Crap!! My dad and I ordered the 3 piece broasted chicken. Grandma had the 5 piece shrimp. Each meal came with two sides. The side salads are quite large. We had so much food, we couldn't come close to finishing it. IT was all pretty darned good too. This is an order at the counter and then they bring it to you. We were there on a Saturday right at noon. The counter to order was packed, not enough room for everyone to get in there. Once they bring your food, there isn't much for service anymore. We didn't get refills on drinks or asked if our food was ok, not sure if this is the norm or just because it was so busy. Just like that there was no line. Bathrooms were in good shape. There just in the entry way, so it was somewhat difficult to get Grandma's walker through and around the corner to the bathrooms with all the doors and small spaces. Dad was thrilled because he could pick exactly which pieces of chicken he wanted. Grandma and I shared the chicken and the shrimp and both were really good. Fries were basic crinkle cut fries, but good for a fry craving. The baked beans looked like they came out of a can. Grandma didn't comment on them. She loved the side salad. This is where Dad and Grandma will want to go next time we come to Storm Lake. I can't say that I blame them. read more

My husband and I were just there tonight & went through the drive through to get 2 ice cream cones. There was one car ahead of us and three cars behind us. After waiting for ten minutes for the car ahead of us to get their order, I went inside to get our ice cream cones. There were four workers just leaning on the counter doing nothing. Very good and pretty fast generally. Order at the counter and they bring it to you, kind of place. Huge selection to choose from. Love their soft serve sherbet. Taco salads are huge along with onion rings orders. read more

My Husband and our 4 children stopped in the Storm Lake Villager for super on 12/19/2017, First I felt rushed as it was not the typical Family Table/Villager atmosphere, You order like your at a fast food restaurant, you sit and they bring your food to you. The restaurant was clean and well kept I will give them that, First our pop was flat and tasted terrible, Second our food was cold and was not tasteful, my son wouldn't touch his food, and Third the next day all my kids but the one who didn't eat (a two year old) were sick, puking and toilet bound both ends, The only thing in common they all had was chocolate milk. We spent $53 on this family meal and were very dissatisfied and this has ruined our Family Table/Villager experience and we will no longer be going to any of their businesses again. read more
