Many things in this store are pricey but they're all beautiful. You can buy seeds, bulbs, soaps,…read morelotions, candles etc. This store also has a very busy cafe that if You want an actual table You need to make a reservation for. We happen to get lucky and grabbed a spot at the first come, first serve bar.

Receipt showing they over charged me $12 vs $10 on the soap bars listed. I should have double checked before I left but a long line was forming behind me! Aside from the price issue complaint, the shop itself is very cute. Everything decorated there looks like a winter wonderland during December. As the name suggests, they have a large nursery section for all sorts of plants throughout the shop. They also have many curated decorative and gift type items for sale. They have small sections of sale items which have very specific brands or circumstances that they apply to. Given the neighborhood demographic the steep prices are not surprising. If you find something you like here, it may be worth looking into how to get the item directly from the seller. One of the main benefits is that this is indoors and directly attached to the café, which I enjoyed much more. It's always fun to walk around and digest to browse after a meal.

It arrived April 30 and we were informed that the order would be cancelled after 5 days. May 5, five days later, we went to the Westport store to pick up the kettle. The order had been cancelled; apparently, the kettle vanished, we couldn't even buy the display item. I called the Westport store about a refund to my card; I was given a 1 800 number to call. I called that number and was referred back to the Westport store. I called the Westport store and, admittedly, lost my cool a bit, but was told by an associate, "This is not my problem." Um, this is your problem because you work for Crate & Barrel, am I correct? I was hung up on. I received a voicemail in return, and when I called back, was hung up on again. I worked for C&B ages ago in San Francisco, and if I'd displayed such customer service demeanor, I would have been seriously reprimanded, if not sacked.

I ordered a 2 lamps on line and one was came with a chip right in front no hiding it. Material had a bubble and fractured. Call customer service- they want it back(hope they don't plan to resell this again) and no word on when I will get a replacement. Really poor service to say the least.

They gave some beautiful house plants and I like that almost each one is identified by name and care instructions provided. I ended up getting some plants for myself! The herbs are also indetified and properties given, which I find incredibly helpful. The herbs all looked healthy and I brought home a bunch to use in my cooking at home. I also bought a few clay pots to transplant them into. They also have potting soil, dirt, birdseed and bird houses, and annual and perennial flowers and outdoor plants. They also sell fresh eggs ( I was told they sell out quick). Prices are on the higher end, but I think much better quality and choice then at box stores. They also have a nice little gift area which was lovely. Parking lot and wagons for use to load up all you want to purchase.

They have multiple varieties of the more common herbs (basil, mint, sage ...). I also really like their unusual annuals, especially coleus, but you have to go early in the season before they all get bought up. Gilbertie's has lots of great pots and cool items in the gift shop, as well as seeds, fertilizers, and much more. I love how the friendly cats act like they own the place. It's a gorgeous property, and sometimes I go there just to walk around and enjoy the beauty and peace. The winter farmers' market is a wonderful place to visit for a change of scenery during the colder months.
