I had 6 teeth pulled yesterday. Done in less than an hour. He gave me very clear instructions on what to do before and after surgery and a laminated page of instructions to make sure I would remember. Dr. Harvey is kind, funny and makes sure that you are comfortable. He personally called me after to check on me and answer any questions I may have. He has always been sedated for his regular dental work at our dentist's office in Lawrence, and does well there. We love our regular dentist, but he cannot remove impacted wisdom teeth, so we needed an oral surgeon. We went to 2 oral surgeons in Lawrence for consultations. Both told us to go to the hospital for the sedation and extractions. It seemed to me like they were more afraid of the word "autism" than anything. A friend recommended Oral Surgery of KS and Dr. Ferrell specifically. WOW. What a nice guy ~ professional and compassionate. He was amazing with my son. We were able to do the consultation with the doctor answering my son's questions on his level, then meet alone with the doctor. The actual oral surgery was done immediately following the consultation. So, there were no hours or days of anxiety between the consultation and the surgery. We went to the Topeka office. The office staff was friendly. The place was clean and comfortable. I highly recommend Dr. Farrell and this office. I wish we had found him first.

I went in to get a molar removed after a terrible experience with another dentist. The consultation…read morewent great, they moved the schedule to get me in faster and told me that they were going to give me pain meds to last until the surgery and a Valium for an hour before the operation. The dentist also told me two times in the consultation that after the surgery they would give me strong pain meds regardless. They gave me tramadol for the week, even with my tooth rotted and the nerves exposed. I think to myself whatever, maybe it's normal to give a minor pain med for major pain before surgery. The day before the surgery, my fiancé called and asked if we get the Valium from them, because they didn't send a prescription, and the lady acted confused and like we were trying to swindle them for a single Valium, when they didn't give me a prescription at all. So, I go in for my surgery today with no Valium, which they seemed very confused about (again, I can't stress enough how they just forgot to give me the prescription and said "oh well"). I'm mortified of surgery and my anxiety was through the roof so I was already irritated and terrified. The operation went fine and dandy and the doctor told my fiancé that we would be leaving with a prescription, which would be the 3rd time this was said. When I came to the lobby we were ushered out by an older woman. I told this woman three times before we left that I was supposed to get a prescription for medicine. She said no every time and to call back if it gets really bad (really? I just had a molar pulled). So of course, it gets bad, and my fiancé calls. The lady who answered the phone said that we should have left with a prescription for Norcos. She placed her on hold and got back on the line saying that she was sending tramadol to the pharmacy for pick up. I'm still in extreme pain, and there's nothing that they will do. At the end of the day, they'll do a damn good job of pulling the tooth, but they will absolutely give you the shaft if you're getting Anastasia, both before and after. If you're a masochist then this is the place for you. If you're like me and loathe tooth pain, do yourself a favor and go somewhere where they actually care if you're in pain or not.

Gave him an "aqualizer", and charged us $40 for it, with in 10 days it broke, so I called to replace it and the secretary told me that she would not replace it or sell him another one until my account was paid in full. Mind you we have SEPARATE insurances and separate accounts. I am very displeased with the service I have received from this office.
