It's beyond the classic healthfood store pricing, we're talking $20 for a jar of almond butter when Vineyard Grocer (under five minutes away) sells the same thing for much less. I mean, it seems counterintuitive to be focused on eco-friendliness and then to price out the majority so only some can afford it, right? Like, if you want people buying non-organic/fair trade/etc, why make it so most of them can't do it at your store? The counter argument I usually hear is that you get a discount via the Island Club Card, but that's going away soon and it's like $90. So it's still a problem. Sometimes you'll need to go here to buy something you want and in all honesty if you're visiting the island it's worth checking out. But always look at the price tag before you buy anything, you never know when something that should be $7 is $30.

Soda that's often 4 two liters for $5 in Boston is $3.99 each. I walked out with some drinks and snacks for the beach and it was $100. Checkout people are nice. It's sad because I would love to support local businesses and I'm not a Stop and Shop fan but it's better than this.

Super sweet! Unfortunately, the phone customer service at Jim's STINKS. The first woman who answered sounded half asleep, insisted they don't have anything but alcohol, and then hung up on me when I mentioned the website says they also have some snack and convenience items! When I called back someone else answered, was equally as rude and sleepy and said "We mostly sell alcohol." I said YES, I know, but I'd like to add some snack items. She got defensive and annoyed when I confused her for the first person (they both sounded asleep so easy to assume they're the same person!), and started insisting delivery was gone for the night. I explained that someone would pickup, that I don't need delivery, and asked why is she being rude in addition to the first person hanging up on me? I asked for her name, to which she replied "why do you need my name?" I was transferred to the first girl who said she had a customer come in and so she hung up on me since delivery is gone for the night anyway. Ummmm. You can't put someone on hold?? Really poor customer service. I was planning on dropping some serious coin to ensure my friends bday weekend in MV was made more enjoyable by my large gift basket. "Big mistake. Big. Huge. I have to go shopping now." I certainly hope "Jim" or whoever owns this place takes a look at who he has working in the evening and answering phones. Fresh seafood here!…read more Pricey for a take out only place. There is some outdoor seating. We got fried scallops, fried belly clams, clam chowder, crab cake sandwich, and a sautéed lobster roll. The fried scallops were fresh! We opened it to eat within minutes but they were already soggy. I think they need to pat dry them out a bit more before frying them. Lightly seasoned. The clams were much better. Whole belly with lots of flavor. The tartar sauce was used for both of them. The sauce was amazing! The clam chowder looked watery upon opening it but it was thicker than expected. Flavorful and full of clams! Stuck my spoon in there and whoa lots of potatoes and clams at the bottom chilling.
