First bite had everyone spitting it out in their napkins! It has a very peculiar and nasty taste so no one ate it. Returned to the store and was told that there would be no refund since it was bought on Thursday and not prepared til Saturday. Then she added that it was cut on Monday and should have been used sooner. She told me to take it with me since they didn't have a way to get rid of it. I told her it was HER problem and walked out. We believe to shop in our hometown and support small, independent businesses. This was a $15 lesson and a ruined family meal.

I'm thinking to myself, there's NO WAY. I just went in there and placed a HUGE bulk order for my daughters 10th birthday party. Why tf would they let me come in and place a bulk order knowing they were going to close permanently, and not have the decency to call me and let me know I would need to full-fill my order elsewhere..... no way they would they ever do that! I mean what 20+ business operates on disfunction like that? So I thought...... So i call the maple crest location just to be informed that yes the store on Calhoun is permanently closed, they couldn't call me because they took the wrong number down (I don't believe they ever even tried to call tbh), yes they do have my order form at the Maplecrest Store, everything is in the store, and I can pick it up there, but it cost 3x's as much as I was told the first time and they will not be honoring the initial amount they told me it would be. My daughters party is in 48 hours. I have family otw in from out of town. I have paid over $500 in vendors for this event and now I have no food! How tf am I supposed to find 300 wings and 10 lbs of hamburger an 9 slabs of ribs in this little amount of time. You would think a company would try their hardest to work with your needs seeing as how they were the ones who dropped the ball, but nope, nothing. But when you step in, it's a homage to the art of meat preparation. The owner Steve is a gem. You can tell this is not only a quality business but also a passion project that he has continued from his father. My daughter is a recent Purdue graduate from '25 class. We are not local, but from NJ. She found this place as part of a local walk and stopped by to pick up a gift certificate to give as a thank you gift.. She noticed they do catering- and thank goodness!. We rented an Airbnb for her graduation so family can stay with us and had planned to have a caterer. But the caterer I booked 4 months prior to graduation cancelled on me one week prior to the event! I was left high and dry. My daughter remembered that Beutlers caters! Steve literally saved us when all others could not or would not. He was not only empathetic to our situation, but he made sure we had an amazing feast and thought of everything to ensure we had the celebration we envisioned. The food was so incredibly good. My family was raving about it all weekend long. Truly THE best pulled Pork and Beef brisket we've ever had. And for a family that doesn't even like beans, they couldn't stop eating it! So good, it should be illegal. We had leftovers for days. Best of all, Steve told me he prepped all the food himself. His TLC was evident. He made sure we had everything needed, even lovely serving baskets and lighters for sternos! My only regret is that my daughter graduated, and I have no known future opportunities to call on Steve again to work his magic. I hope this review gains traction. I'm on a mission to ensure that word gets out about this rare gem of a place and the incredible owner behind it all, Steve Beutler. Heartfelt thank you Steve.

The two counter ladies were super friendly. Their potato salad and macaroni salad are legendary in the old area I lived in and so I was happy to know I could get it here. The prepared salads are good and reasonably priced. Their homemade summer sausage is good and can be sliced to whatever thickness you like. Their meats are fresh and well presented. There is a fresh case as well as frozen selections. Chicken, beef, pork, and seafood options are available. They have great Hawaiian brat patties. It's worth the drive.
