I was in the store getting ground beef and some cheese. As I was waiting the guy behind the counter put his fingers in his mouth and then proceeded to touch the meat with no gloves. I was disgusted. Why do they handle the meat and not wear gloves. I asked for someone else to get my order and she refused to help me. I will never buy anything from them again. This was the first time I went there. The food as always is delicious and i have always had great customer service until tonight. I walked in and went straight to the counter for some pulled pork. I made eye contact with a younger gentleman. He pretended to not see me. He kept continuing to wipe the counter. Another young gentleman came out from the back and began stocking behind the counter. He made eyw conract with me but again. I didnt exist. Another young gentleman was behind the counter slicing meat. He didnt know I was waiting behind the counter but as soon as he saw me, he immediately greeted me. I stood there 2 to 3 minutes waiting for one of the two boys i made eye contact with to greet me but no attempted was made. If you want good, fresh meat cut to order this is your market! Name the cut of meat or poultry you want and they will provide it. If you want your steaks cut extra thick for your grill call ahead and they will have it ready when you show up. They ground their own hamburger meat and have a selection of brats and hot dog and a deli. Lots of choIces and a good selection of general grocery items. After calling around town I found that they carry Ossian ham year round. My wife bought a 22 pounder for a special dinner on Super bowl Sunday. I bought 10 ribeye steaks for the freezer that were on sale for $7.99....a bargain! They wrapped them individually which was excellent! Also got some beef liver for dinner! Gotta get this off my chest cuz I love me some chicken breast. Alright first of all to the guy who left that review about one of the employees/owner son or whatever touching your arm and saying that to you. Yikes that must of been awkward hopefully no other man has to experience that. In my experience it's been good so far. Been wanting to support local businesses and staying away from big chains the best I can. Its simple and easy to find everything and the non poultry prices are fair especially if you are someone who mostly cooks all the time. Now the only thing I have an issue with is the pricing/weight ratio and marketing of the chicken and steaks. But I understand a small business has to make profit. But them having so much selection and styles of cuts does make it worth it. The service from the guys in the back are also great and do make sure they wrap up that meat in quality haha. To be honest I would give it a 4 but have to give it a 5 because the cashiers are cute. Highly recommend if you are a summertime outdoor grill lover. read more

I rarely give a 5 star review. Certain things have to be exceptional in order for me to do so. My visit today was exactly that, exceptional. This large market is located on lower Huntington Rd. It's a big red building, with a perfectly manicured lawn and a spacious parking area. Once inside, you're immediately greeted on the right by a long curving meat counter. Pork products, followed by chicken, beef, and liver.(). A separate case, adjacent to the rest houses deli products and at the very end of the curve is deli and sandwich meats and cheeses. Everything appeared fresh and well stocked. The store smelled and looked extremely clean. The staff were all courteous and helpful. They had at least 6 staff members behind the counter to address customer needs. I'd hadn't been having much luck at fresh meat markets, until today when I stopped into this exceptional establishment. It was worth the drive. My colleague had been telling me for months I was missing out on the best meat in town. I called today to offer my thanks. I found the spot!! read more

I love the other hills market so I wanted to try this one out too. Was in the area and stopped by. Plenty of parking and a lot bigger than the other one. They carried more items, the deli was also more large and they had a bigger produce section. Ok but let's talk about hella busy. They have a ticket taker for the deli. And if the line is super long I'd suggest taking one then go get other items if you need something more than meat cause you'll wait in line forever. Took about 13' for my number to be called. When I got up there it's a little hectic. The deli case is so long that you may need something at one end and then another at the opposite end. The deli guy had to try to follow you amongst the many other people doing the same thing and it's loud that the deli guy had a hard time hearing me. Then when I did ask about products that I wanted they were all sold out. Which is a common thing here. That being said I always get the mustard potato salad at the other hills and love love it. I purchased it here and it's very different than the other store. They also carry a lot of different products and deli items. Over all it's a nice place to go. The meat and cheese were delish but it's far from my house where the other one is just down the road. It's a clean store and the employees are Friendly enough but not overly friendly as it's busy like I said and I think they're trying to get thru the lines and get ppl going. Quaint little shop selling farm fresh goods. I wouldn't buy any processed or packaged goods here because they were way overpriced. However, they had competitive pricing on their fresh goods such as meat and produce. They offered a vast meat selection. Old favorites like city chicken for $3.99/lb. Special on NY strips for 5.99 each. They also offered alot of fish but they were frozen. I will definitely start coming here for my meat purchases. Definitely. read more

Regular customer, but I stopped going back in spring when shutdown happened. I love that place, but customers and employees alike wouldn't mask up. When the mandate happened employees would wear it under their nose and take it off in the meat cutting area. Cashiers would wear theirs under their noses with no barriers. This meat market been here since I was a little boy, back in the day, talking 1970s and 80s. Real nice meat! Their steaks are not good. Like at all. I give them a try a few times a year and they are always sub par. Kroger and Costco sell better steaks. I gave them 2 stars instead of one cause I do find deals in the grocery area. Just stay away from the meats. read more
