(Not their fault) But they are competing for the loudest library award, for sure. I asked him to please keep down. He said 'Oh sure!' In a booming voice . He is sweet, but maybe doesn't get it? When you have 5 people on computers and two on laptops maybe... just maybe they are doing something very important. I mean, I don't know. I'm just a patron. Continue on... The clerks were friendly, helpful and informative...none of that snooty "can't bother to talk to you" attitude here. I was quickly assisted in getting a library card and the nice man gave me a tour of the facility. As homeschoolers, we utilize the public library system quite a bit. I was so happy to see that this county has an online system that let's you request books from other branches. JOY JOY JOY....the angels were singing in my head. What is such a standard library service in California is hard to find here in Texas. But the Grayson County Library System kicks butt and they get it done! So thank you Denison Library for being such a great place for my family to enjoy.

A group of 4 adults and five kids ranging from 4 to 13, we all enjoyed this place more than we thought we would. When you look at at the website that does not do it justice, you go hmm interesting. You will leave thinking woah I coul spend more time here. You get your entry tickets in the main building and they give you a key and a map. You go out to a big fenced area and the building are set in a giant rectangular pattern and you can walk to them one by one. 5 cabins have lock that the key operates and you can go inside. The others have a glass door and a light switch outside which you can turn on and peer inside. They all have a little info plaque outside as well so you can learn about the history. This probably doesn't sound as interesting as it actually is to be there. The cabins you can go into really take your tour to another level. The whole setting is fantastic. Definitely make time to go here if you are in the area. It's about 45 minutes to go through the whole thing and entry is cheap..you can spend more time if you want as well. There is no limit.

It is tucked away, off the beaten path, on a beautifully kept property. There is convenient parking right next to the tasting room. You can choose to sit indoors or out on one of the patios - there are mini-golf holes on one and giant chess pieces on the other. When you enter the tasting room, everything is decorated with aviation items. It is super cute inside. Bathroom was clean. Service was great and staff was very friendly. The wine was terrific! We enjoyed tasting dry whites and reds and were extremely happy with all the wine. The reds were especially smooth and delicious. We also walked around outside a little before we left. There are vineyards and a large pond. You are able to get married here and there is another building to use for a reception. Definitely pay them a visit and try their wine. It's worth the drive!

Eisenhower State Park includes most of Lake Texoma lakefront businesses that make up Oklahoma's…read moreshare of the biggest local lake in north central Texas, which is about an hour's drive north on TXHWY 377N, and a day sail from Gordonville's gorgeous and lively Cedar Mills Yacht, where my family lived during the weekends and holidays, often dining with the keen Bahama 28 yacht owned by North Texas State University's Dr. Bruce P. Foster. Our ragtag racing team included Bruce and Trudy's sons, Rob and Greg + a rotating volunteer from our home church, Trinity Presbyterian Church in Denton. Apparently, from certain times of the year, the sailing vessels known as Valiant Yachts produces various forms of sailing vessels, which are often shipped to every place in the world. I worked on the foredeck, raising the colorful and elegant spinnakers for sailing quite fast pointing down wind. I love the local scene of rural communities in the north Texas and Oklahoma region and the culture of our farmers and ranchers who cultivate their cash crops and send to the local markets in Denton, Dallas, Fort Worth and mid-cities. They have really nice nearby cabins along the peninsula where we stayed. There's a lot to do for the entire family, trail running, hiking, fishing etc. Plus it is a short drive up north offering the "we are not in DFW" vibe. It is worth checking out for sure!

Stopped by this afternoon for a quick drink after returning from Dallas on a business trip. It was…read moremy first time here, all of my work friends had been talking about it. The bartender was great she made a really good bloody mary probably the best I've had in a while and the loaded fries were fantastic. During my time there I couldn't help but notice a staff member sitting at the bar during business hours playing on her phone. She was an older lady with glass in a blue hey day shirt. I did not realize establishments allowed employees to sit at an open bar during business hours playing on their phone, very unprofessional. Probably won't be back anytime soon.. kind of a bummer because the food and drinks were great. :(
