For a friend's bachelorette event, I booked a wine tour with Vino 301 Wine Concierge, and I'm so glad I did! What a great company! Booking was super easy and once that was done, I received regular emails from Vino 301 and texts until the day of the tour. We were picked up this past Saturday (4/20) at the appointed location and time. We boarded a very well appointed van with about 4 rows of seats that accommodated us all. I felt very safe on the rides to and from the wineries. Our host and driver were super friendly and treated us like royalty. Prior to arriving at each venue, we were provided some background and things we should know in advance. She more or less herded us from place to place, which was actually quite comforting. I felt very well taken care of AND seen as I was the only one on the tour not drinking, but I was provided water and other beverages over the course of the day. Oh, and the lunch we received was AMAZING. So much food! I had the roast beef BLT, which came with a bag of chips, pasta salad, and a dessert. Definitely recommend! read more

Honestly, this experience became disappointing towards the end. But let me start from the beginning... A friend booked this tour for a birthday celebration. Some of us selected the wine only option while others selected wine, beer, and spirit option. Apparently if you choose the latter, you don't participate in the wine tasting part at the second venue... only the beer. Crazy right? Anyway. It started late. Our host, Candace, arrived 10 minutes late. We spoke with her around 10:50am and she said she was 4 minutes away, which we knew was a lie because our driver Yonas already told us she called him and she would be here around 11:10am. Fortunately enough for us, one friend was running behind due to car troubles and would be arriving 15 minutes late. Candace seemed personal and kind. She looked super unprepared and like she just rolled out of bed (hope that's not offensive but it's just how I felt). We didn't even get the gift bag and wine glass I kept reading about in reviews (we later asked and she said she forgot). The first location was wonderful. They poured a good amount of wine. I didn't fall in love with any of the flavors that were showcased but some tasted a lot better than others. The second location (Linganore) was bigger and had tastier flavors. I came close to purchasing the blueberry flavored wine but I wasn't in love with it. I will note that we received significantly less amount of wine than the other location. I'm sure it was company policy so it didn't bother me too much but many of my friends were disappointed by this. Something else that was disappointing was Candace's attitude. It switched towards the end of the tour and she was much less personable. Turns out, she was on a time crunch and we were running behind. We were supposed to be at the drop off location at 4pm but I honestly thought it was 4:30p. And even still, how is it fair that it gets cut because we started late because you were late (even if our friend wasn't late, we would still start late because Candace was 10 min late). So that put a damper on our experience. I will praise Linganore for providing a spot for me to breast pump in! That establishment itself is probably deserving of 4 stars :). But Vino 301 wine tours? Somewhere between a 2.5 and 3. We didn't learn anything from our host about the wineries or area or anything for that matter. Such an amazing experiences. On August 30 a couple of friends and I celebrated my birthday by booking Vino 301. The three wineries that we visited was Boordy, Dejon and Harford. Before booking we did some extensive research and heard rave reviews about the business. Ms Leslie was at our meeting location promptly with our goodie bags. She asked our preference in music and we were on our way. By far some of the best customer service I have ever experienced. Ms Leslie was so attentive and knowledgeable of each winery. My goodness what a wonderful event. Myself and 11 of my best girls attended a virtual wine tasting hosted by leslie. It was fun and informative light and enjoyable. The ladies had a blast and what a departure from this pandemic hanging over our heads. We had two wines and a sparkling wine in our tasting. It was lovely. On this particular Saturday, my best friend and I enjoyed our adventure on the Wine, Beer and Spirit Tour, it was truly a spirited beverage adventure. My tour departure time was 11:00 am on a Saturday morning, Vino 301 conveniently provided two pickup locations. I was excited to get a 9:30 am. reminder text from our tour guide Christina confirming my pick-up location Once we arrived at the park & ride location we were greeted by our transportation vehicle - a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter passenger van...what a way to tour in style! Once inside the van, my best friend and I met our tour mates - a father, daughter duo and another female tour guest. Our tour guide Christina joined us bringing our total to six tour participants. Christina was extremely knowledgeable about the locations we were visiting and the wine we would drinking. She is a Sommelier who studied in Washington State among other places. I liked the small tour group because it gave us each a chance to navigate through the different distillery spaces and it also gave us a chance to ask lots of questions. Our first stop on the tour was Linganore Winery and Vineyard. I've visited that location before during one of their reggae festivals but because there were so many people there I didn't get the chance to fully see or tour the grounds. On this quiet Saturday afternoon, the grounds were buzzing with guests eating and drinking on the outdoor patio, buying wine from the retail store and touring the winery. Once inside, we were greeted by our winery tour guide Brandon who gave us a little history of the Linganore Family. Did you know... Linganore is the second oldest winery in Maryland and the largest in Maryland , twenty different grapes are used in blending their wines and they've won over 200 awards throughout the years - that's pretty impressive. He also gave us a tour of the area where the wines are made, stored and packaged. We ended Brandon's tour with a wine tasting featuring 12 of Linganore's most popular wines. I can honestly say they carefully selected each wine because they all had a different taste. We were each given a wine list, wine glass, a small chocolate and a cracker. The chocolate and cracker are used to break up the taste and refresh the palate. Lorrie was our tasting room attendant, she was friendly, efficient and fast...she kept the wine coming. The wine list was helpful because it gave a description of each wine and we were able to make notes of the ones we liked and didn't like. This was helpful because it made it easier to select which wine you'd like to buy after the tour. They also gave us a dump bucket to empty the wine we didn't drink or didn't like, of course I never used that bucket. LOL! Our next stop on the tour was the Red Shedman Brewery, also located on the Linganore vineyard steps away from the winery. We didn't tour the brewery but we did have a tasting similar to the one at the winery. We were given a list of beers and were asked to choose six we'd like to sample. Of course I loved the Raspberry Cider because I like sweet beer. The Lemon Shandy and Coconut Porter rounded out my top three. After our beer flight, we hopped back on the sedan and headed to our last stop, Dragon Distillery in Frederick, MD. Dragon is located in a business park next to a local airport. With the name "Dragon Distillery," the interior has to live up to the name ... and it does. The retail/tasting room is adorned with everything knights and dragons, there was even a cute dog bartender named "Thor". Dragon Distillery makes nine liquors for sale, variations of Vodka, Gin, Rum, Bourbon and Moonshine. They even have their Bourbon making class that hosts a half-day session teaching participants how to make bourbon and they allow you to take a bottle home - that sounds like the ultimate experience for any Bourbon lover. Just like the previous stops, we were given a menu of sorts to choose three liquors we'd like to sample. In Maryland, we have a law that states distilleries are only allowed pour three one-ounce samples per guest, so we were given a menu to choose our three. With flavors like Cherry Almond Vodka, Medieval Mint Vodka and Lemon Meringue Moonshine it's kind of hard to just choose three. The packaging is also pretty cool. The ladies gold league at Frog Hollow coordinated a wine tour with Vino301 of three Chesapeake Wineries. We were picked up at the clubhouse and proceeded in a nice luxury minibus/party limo. It was stocked with snacks and beverages plus we were able to bring along some mimosas to start the trip. Our sommelier, Christina, was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, conversational, and had taken the time to read our questionnaire completed in advance of the trip and knew something about each one of our wine preferences. She told us about each winery before we arrived and also talked with us about tastings, techniques, and wines. We visited three incredible wineries in the Annapolis area. The first was on Kent Island, Mark Cascia Vineyard. This is one of the most beautiful wineries and settings I have been to. It's located right on the water, the tasting room and deck area are simply gorgeous. We had a funny yet very informed host that guided us through the tasting and Christina was there to add in some tips and details to further enhance our experience. We learned about the "bottom of the boat" tasting technique and proper sniffing technique. Vino301 had lunch for us at this first stop and we were off to a great start. I can't wait to go back to Cascia and bring friends that were not on the tour with us. Their wines were exceptional, the whites and the reds were both delicious. It was hard to pick just one. The second vineyard was open by appointment only and we had a very special experience at Dodon Winery in Davidsonville. The guesthouse/tasting room was something right out of a magazine and the rolling hills and meadows of grape vines out the glass doors were breathtaking! We got to have a tour of the Winery and walked in the vineyard as well. Our tour guide, Regina, was very helpful and provided tons of history and information about the winery. The wines were all superb as well. Our third stop was Great Frog Winery in Annapolis. This was a very festive atmosphere with live music and people could even bring their dogs to relax and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. The wine tasting was another great selection of wines and some of the best red blends of the day! We all had a fantastic experience and truly felt pampered and treated like VIP's throughout the tour. I will definitely book a tour with Vino301 again and am excited about trying new wineries and festive events with a wine focus! I highly recommend trying one of their tours. read more

I booked a wine tour with Pam and she was the best! She knew so much about the wineries, and had such a fun attitude. My friend and I went on a full tour, total of 8 people. The first place was Robin Hill which was beautiful ( this place had the best wine) we tried about 9 listed tastings but at the bar it's an additional $1 per tasting. Next up was Romano Vineyard, very cute place! We were able to hear some nice live music and this place had over 15 tastings!! They have a wide menu! And lastly was JaneMark, personally my least favorite. Wines were too sweet but if you love sweet wines then that's your spot, this place has a nice vibe but more on the party side. It got really crowded which made quite difficult to enjoy the tasting. This place have us around 9 tastings.The tour was from 11 to 5 and we got to JaneMark around 3 we had an ample amount of time to relax and enjoy our drinks. And because we enjoyed Robin Hill so much everyone decided to head back to finish the day with some of their limited edition bubbly! We received the cutest little reusable souvenir bag (that perfectly holds wine bottles without them clinking together!) and a stemless wine glass inside our bags. To no fault of their own, my bridesmaids organized a wine tour through this company for the day time portion of my bachelorette party. Our hostess met us at the designated friend's house on time but revealed that the party bus was having issues and we would need to wait for a replacement. Fine! We figured we would snack and have a few more mimosas. Our hostess decided to engage in a 45 minute monologue about the history of vineyards in Maryland...kind of a buzz kill. Then she left to go "check on the bus," saying she would be back in 5 minutes with the bus. We got our coolers and purses and went to wait in front of the house. She and the bus did not appear for a good half an hour as we repeatedly tried getting in touch with her. The bus issue was out of the company's control but don't say it'll be 5 minutes when it'll really be another 30 or so. We would have stayed inside and kept snacking and drinking our mimosas! Fast forward to an hour and a half after our designated start time and we're on the road. I'm just trying to light up this party bus with some 90s jams and smash some wine with my friends but this hostess woman would not shut up! She talked the whole way- we couldn't relax and enjoy each other because she was constantly babbling like a brook after torrential rain!! Finally get to the first winery and it was like every time I would go to take a sip she had some tidbit or historical fact about this particular grape varietal. It was almost comical except that I hated it. She did not seem to be able to "read the room"- we literally just wanted to hang out and try some wine. She just kept interjecting and did not know how to make herself scarce. Our experience sucked. We wound up getting some money refunded for this reason. The bus thing sucked but I could have easily gotten past it. Our tour guide was just so overbearing that I don't feel like anybody could relax. They were both a lot of fun and included some great wineries. The two tour guides we had provided very different experiences. One tour was laid back and all about socializing and having fun while the other was amazingly educational and in-depth, helping us explore our wine preferences. I booked a wine tasting tour for a Bachelorette party--Working with Leslie via email was really easy and she was really helpful--informing us about the possible wineries and making an exception for the amount of people we had. Easy to make a custom tour. Leslie showed up right on time and offered to take our picture immediately. Not only that but once we got in the car we had personalized wine glasses and snacks! We felt very tended to the whole time- she was very prepared, informative, knowledgeable, and kind. She got into it and was a part of the day but also let us have our fun as a group. She seemed very familiar with the area and the people at the wineries. Only down side is that I wish it was more of a tour vs concierge service ie wish we got to walk around the wineries and learn more about the process of wine instead of just tastings at each place. There are so many great things to say about Vino 301 that I don't know where to begin! I planned my cousins bachelorette party with Vino 301. They made my job so easy! They took care of picking our group of 13 up in a nice Mercedes van at any location we wanted and dropping us back off later. They provided us with snacks and beverages for the ride and allowed us to bring our own alcohol for the trip. Leslie is the founder of Vino 301 and she came with us as a tour guide on the trip! Leslie put so much thought and effort into our group and we are so thankful. I would recommend any group that wants to do wine tastings at several vineyards in MD to use Leslie. When my friend was looking for Bachelorette Party ideas we quickly came across Vino301 and thought it was a perfect package deal for what we were looking for. How can I possibly create a synopsis of our experience? 1) Leslie was disorganized, rude on several occasions, and has terrible business practices 2) Be sure you read the fine print VERY clearly, because even if Leslie tells you something different (in writing, in an e-mail) she will argue that you should have read the fine print 3) The fine print is VERY confusing. Leslie told us we needed 7 people for the wine tours, but you actually need 9 (including the Bride) in order for the bride to be free. This is only specified for Package One but apparently also applies to Package Two (the Wine Me, Dine Me). 4) Leslie began to ignore phone calls from myself and the Bride and on more than one occasion we had to borrow cell phones from friends in order to get her to answer the phone. For instance, I would call on my cell phone and there would be no answer, I would wait a few minutes and then call on my friends phone and Leslie would answer almost immediately. 5) We were NOT provided the details on the wineries we would be attending or food we would be given until the DAY BEFORE THE EVENT. Even though we asked repeatedly. 6) It took several weeks for the website for our event to be updated with accurate Pick-up Location, and several phone calls / e-mails for the Bride to get the "weekly" (it was NEVER weekly) updated guest list she was promised. 7) Leslie told the Bride she would be getting her $200 deposit refunded, in writing. Then the DAY BEFORE the event she told the Bride she would not be getting her money. It took several e-mail exchanges and phone calls for her to finally agree to refunding the $200 the Bride was promised. Then it took two weeks for the money to be given back to the Bride even though she was told it would be "the day after the event". 8) Leslie owed me a partial refund on my package deal. This refund took several phone calls, e-mail exchanges, and OVER A MONTH to be given to me. 9) Leslie puts the reservations at both the restaurant and bar under her own name, and did not inform us of such. So when we called regarding our reservation there was none found, we had to do guess work to confirm our reservations.. which was highly frustrating. It is also worth mentioning that after we started having issues with Leslie we some research we found Vino301 is currently NOT in Good Standing with the Maryland Department of Commerce. The ONLY good thing about an event with Vino301 was Camille, who was our guide during the wine tours. She was professional, considerate, and overall fun to be around. read more

Very disappointed with this company. A good friend booked a wine tour for 15 for her birthday but found out she was pregnant with her first child soon after and had to cancel. While we were all sent emails stating we'd receive a refund within 5-7 business days, 2 weeks, 2 phone calls, and 2 emails later I've received nothing and no response that I was told I'd receive from them. We used Vino 301 for a bachelorette party of 10. Our hostess was wonderful, helped keep us on schedule without rushing us, and was very knowledgeable about the area wine. We were able to visit three wineries and had a tasty lunch. This was a wine tour like no other! What a great experience we had. Our tour was a gift to us by our kids, purchased online. Everything turned out PERFECT!! Our ambassador, Christina, communicated with us ahead of time to make sure we had all the details (to dress warmly, time and place to meet, etc). On the day of our tour, Christina, and our driver, Craig, were on time and very prepared to take my husband and I on a very intimate wine tour. We visited 3 wineries: Running Hare, Fridays Creek and Thanksgiving Farms. These 3 had been selected to give us a full experience of different wines and different wineries. We learned so much and it was fun. And of course it was delicious too. Christina was awesome. She knows SO MUCH about everything in the wine world. We've been on wine tastings and tours in New York, California, Germany, Pennsylvania but this was by far the BEST tour ever. We sure didn't want it to end. Vino 301 provided a delicious lunch and took good pictures for us. We received tote bags and cute Vino 301 wine glasses! We will definitely be back with our friends and family to do another tour again. We can't wait! read more
