The Hotel recommended this Restaurant when we asked for a good place to eat. On the first day we got to Venice we ate here, and my brother was hooked and fixated on the food, I loved it as well, but my brother didn't want to eat no where else but here because the food was just excellent and maybe the best Italian food and wine he ever had. The one thing that really shocked me that in Italy and France, there is not such a thing as a bad wine! I couldn't believe it, everywhere we had wine, was excellent in taste. We tried different dishes, the cheeses, the wines, all was best of the best. The Staff here were AMAZING, so so nice! Italians in Italy I have to say, are some of the best and sweetest people. We had conversations with the Staff, as if we knew each other forever, is so genuine and family like vibe. They also explained and showed us which boat, train, which train station to take to travel to Florence and which area was the best to stay in Florence. Venice had a wide variety of restaurants, like the ones by the water as well but Vino Vino was absolutely our top choice. We always had the table outdoor in the backyard. Specially at night is has the best romantic loving vibe. My brother had taken me to some of the best places in NYC, and I can say gladly that I out did him by taking him to the best restaurant in Venice, jajaja. Healthy competition. We are on our Honeymoon in Europe and today we are in Venice, Italy. Our hotel suggested, Vino Vino and Ii did Not disappoint. We had pizza and it was delicious! Our hotel concierge recommended dinner here and made reservations for us. When we arrived, we walked in the front and it was completely dead, we thought "uh-oh" but then we walked to the back garden patio and it was packed and it's absolutely beautiful out there and we understood why we needed reservations. Within about half an hour, the inside was pretty packed as well, so this is clearly a popular place. The menu is the typical, Italian fare, but many styles and from everything we saw come out, it all looked pretty good. We started with their Buffalo Caprese Salad, which was great. It had very fresh and flavorful tomatoes. The cheese was great too! Since it was porcini season, the porcini with polenta was ordered and definitely enjoyed! I tried their Pasta with tomato sauce and meatballs. The meatballs were great! The sauce was perfectly seasoned and really good and the pasta was perfectly al dente! This osteria was close to where we stayed in Venice so saved it for our final dinner and it was delightful. We came early and couldn't decide where to sit so they showed us each room, and the place seems to go on forever. We chose the front room, with the crocheted squares over the lights, reminding me of one of the places I went to in NewYork City when I lived there. I had the lasagna and it was delicious and lost melted in my mouth. All of the staff was attentive but not overbearing. I highly recommend this osteria if you are in Venice. read more

Tourist trap, overpriced "tourist"quality bland food, not authentic Venetian. House wine was so inexpensive, I believe so they can get you drunk and you miss the $16/bottle for sparkling water, which we were served (3) but charged for (5). There are so many other options for better quality food and fair prices. Unfortunately I was the odd man out and surrendered to my friends who wanted to try this place because they were so hungry they just wanted to eat. Lesson learned; follow the advice of more seasoned travelers to avoid places like this, along with your gut when they coerce you to come in because you're too tired and hungry to keep looking. After a long trek from the train station to our stay at Hotel dell'Opera, we were exhausted and hungry. Vino Vino was on the corner of this little street so we wandered in. The restaurant itself is huge! They have a back area that is open air and has a nice garden ambiance. Lovely to sit at. The service is very slow. We were not greeted for a long time. Water here comes in a small bottle and at a costly $3 per bottle. There is also a cover charge per person. Be warned. We ordered a mussel soup to start. Very tasty in a garlic white wine soup with butter crostini on the side. A pretty big portion for an appetizer. The soup was so flavorful we tried to dip the table bread in it as well. Next I had a lasagna and the bf ordered the cuttlefish with squid ink pasta. Both entrees were mediocre. We had heard seafood is a must in Venice so I knew ordering lasagna wouldn't be the most amazing but this was just odd. It was so soft it was like I was eating mousse. Not super flavorful either. Just a bundle of blah. The pasta was not much better. Also kind of bland but at least it was unique. Do not miss! This place is so authentic, so genuine, so delicious- everything you would dream about of a quaint family restaurant. We came just before Covid -served by the lovely Arianna and were so please we returned the next night! We printed photos of the food and hung in our kitchen while we dreamed of returning. This review is a little late. We were in Venice in March 2018. It was cold, rained a few times and snowed one day. One of our best trips!! We asked our hotel concierge to recommend a few restaurants and this was one of them. And we're so happy he did! My husband said it was the best lasagna he has ever had! I had the wild sea bass with pink pepper sauce, dill and saffron. It was good but not great. We had a nice bottle of red wine with our meal. The waiter was very attentive and poured often. The meal also comes with a bread basket (which is probably the reason for the cover charge). For dessert, we shared ice cream with strawberries and each had a cappuccino. The ambiance was perfect (very romantic), the waiter was professional and the price wasn't bad either. I ordered seafood pasta-shrimp must have been frozen as they were small and pithy. some of the noodles were actually crunchy as they must have been sitting out for some time. No sauce whatsoever. 3.5 stars - After arriving and settling into our hotel way past our normal dinner time, my husband and I decided to scout for dinner in a nearby restaurant without the help of yelp or tripadviser. Yes, risky.. But honestly so far for our honeymoon, most restaurants with glowing reviews have left us disappointed again and again. We wandered not too far and quickly skimmed through a few menus nearby before agreeing to try Vino. After reviewing Venetian cuisine on our train ride from Florence, I recommended that we stick to local specialties - fish risotto and cuttlefish with polenta. Although it was listed as fish risotto, it came with small shrimp, mussels, and clams. It was a bit oversalted and it was obvious all the seafood was previously frozen. The shrimp was really dry and almost inedible. Thank goodness, there were only about 3 pieces. My fiancé was reluctant in approving my entree choice. So far, I've been pretty hard to feed in Italy. I wasn't sure what either elements on my dish was supposed to taste like. It was simply a gamble. To our surprise, this dish ended up being my favorite out of all my meals on honeymoon. The cuttlefish was tender yet chewy, the squid ink sauce was creamy and perfectly seasoned, the polenta was soft and melt in my mouth good. Not the entree size was tiny but it tasted so good that I could had eaten another whole entree of this. Service was standard and we missed out of the back patio seating - didn't even realize it existed. Price was a lot more fair than most restaurants around the area. Overall - lifted a big weight off my husband's shoulders (my wife is eating something other than gelato again!) and made me more curious/anticipated than ever to try more Venetian cuisine! read more

After a long day running around Venice, we were hella hungry for something good to eat. We dropped by our hotel to freshen up, and the guy at the front desk recommended this place. Overall, it was an alright recommendation. Our waiter was super friendly but a bit off-putting because he knew we were American tourists who would tip. We asked him about portion sizes for the pizzas, to which he recommended one per person. We ended up ordering 4 pizzas and a couple draft beer for my parents. When the pizza came, we received 4 large pizzas. When you're tired, hungry, and in possession of a bottomless stomach, you eat a full pizza. I ate the full pizza. My dad ate around 3/4 of his, and both my mom and sister had half of theirs'. We easily could've been fine with 3 (maybe 2 and then gelato for dessert) so it was a bit annoying we spent extra on food we didn't need and weren't expecting to carry back. The pizza themselves were good. We all had the margherita pizza as a base -- my dad got the napoli pizza with anchovies and capers, my mom had zucchini and eggplant toppings. It was definitely delicious and definitely better than any pizza we've had here in the states. The draft beer were excellent, but overpriced. I don't especially recommend this place. Staff is friendly enough. It's definitely good food, but if you're looking for a superb Italian experience, look elsewhere. If we had more energy, we could've gone to a better place. We snuck in to a glass blowing tour in St Mark's and after making friends with the tour leader - wearing Ferrari gear helped, we asked where HE had lunch. He hesitated but, finally, sent us here. A little hard to find and more than a little crowded at peak times - have a good map and pick your schedule wisely - early or late. This is a cafeteria-like eatery but the food is cooked by Italians so the quality is so much better. I recommend a visit for a couple of reasons. First, locals do eat here and that says a lot. Second, the price with a glass of very pleasant wine is cheap for Venice. Finally, the food is good (but not great) and the atmosphere makes it an adventure.
