They are ok, better than Guitar Center for sure, but pricing is less than to be desired on used and BStock gear. The representative I have assigned will call himself giving me a quote for item which as if a deal is coming my way only for it to be the same price listed on the website, which is so enormously annoying and a time waste. Their technical support is stellar so I guess that is a trade off, but the customer service is not Sweetwater level at least not yet which is an extremely high bar. I ordered (via Amazon) an Earthworks SR117 microphone. When it arrived the box was damaged and the seals broken indicating that this was a used, returned and/or B-stock item yet it was marketed and sold as new (when it clearly wasn't). read more

Worst customer service I have ever experienced with purchasing music gear. I paid full amount for a special-order product that was said to be out of stock on their end in September. I also understood previously that they have been having issues with this manufacturer with an inability to get direct timely answers through their means of contact. I didn't think this would be a big problem. I thought wrong. Two months later and only a few follow-up emails by Vintage King saying they could not get in touch with the manufacturer, I decided to find the contact details for the manufacturer myself because I felt I had nothing to lose here considering there was nothing to show for what I paid for in full during this long wait period. Through the manufacturer (and it surprisingly wasn't that extremely difficult to get in touch with someone), I found out that the product was likely not in stock, never will be, and likely discontinued. However, due to model name variations, they asked me to check what Vintage King ordered on their end. I called Vintage King and I hoped they would square this away with the manufacturer because 1. As I said before, Vintage King previously claimed they had issues getting timely (and if any) answers from the manufacturer, and given I was able to get in touch with them, the manufacturer POC I had could remedy this communication problem. 2. Vintage King held all my money for two months with only few updates claiming they couldn't get in touch with the manufacturer. When I brought this to the customer service rep, he said something along the lines of "we just can't put other customers in front of the line when they got a problem." Uhhhh, excuse me? You took my money for these past two months, can't seem to do a direct contact to my manufacturer POC while say there are communication issues between the two of you and you had me basically do your job to find an update and try to work out getting what I paid for? I put in a cancellation of the order today since no one could provide me with a proper update. About an hour later, and lo and behold, I get an email from one of the reps and they claimed they magically got in touch with the manufacturer (after two months!) and they said this was discontinued and a refund will be issued. read more

I wanted to see if Dynaudio Core 47 studio monitors would sound significantly better than the Dynaudio LYD48s I'd bought last year before the 47s had come out, and Vintage King, Ferndale not only had a pair in stock for me to try, they had a demo pair with a whopping $500 off -- so I jumped on that and arranged with the salesperson online for pickup at the nearby Lewiston Avenue warehouse on the same day. After three weeks of listening and mixing on the Core 47s, I decided they were worth keeping over the LYD48s, but then started to wonder if the Dynaudio Core 59s would sound significantly even better than the 47s, and decided if VK had them on hand, I'd give those a try before the 30-day return period ended. Serendipitously, they actually did have them, so I dashed over to get them. After a few days I decided the 59s were again worth the extra money and returned the 47s, putting the purchase on a VK/Synchrony 12-month 0% interest payment plan. Salesperson Dan Ackerman was great to work with throughout the process, greatly accommodating, super efficient and friendly, as was everyone else I've encountered so far. I had happily dealt with Vintage King in California when I was living there and am very pleased they have a store here that while not having a showroom floor still has incredible gear and great service. read more

The worst service ever, I ordered 2 pairs of headphone, 1 month passed by and I had not got any shipping confirmation or anything from them. Called them and they said the headphones are not in stock yet and they are waiting the shipment, so I decided to cancel. One staff told me he processed a cancelation but a week later, I still got no refund. I called them again and another staff told me nothing is done with the order, so I got to make a cancelation again, and still havent heard any confirmation email. Literally, my money is being held for that amount of time for nothing. Never shop on this website ever again read more

Mike I changed my review to 5 stars because your staff went above and beyond once I came back to your Ferndale location. I was misinformed by a friend that this was a store front location so I came back at 10:00 this morning before I seen your reply. I was let into your beautiful headquarters by someone and introduced to a nice sales rep from England by the name of Joe. Joe and I talked for a bit while he rang me up and told me I could go pick up my gear from a close by location. When I arrived at the pick up location I was greeted by a nice young lady that took care of me and got me my new Aston Stealth Microphone. I apologize about the confusion but I see how Vintage King does business and I'm impressed. Thanks again and I will spread the word of Vintage King wherever I go. read more
