If tequila isn't your thing, they've got ya covered with all the other concoctions -- from a sunshine martini to a Gillian's island rum mixer. And even if you prefer NA, there's drinks cleverly called "placebo effects" for ya! Love the sprawling bar, with plenty of seats, that's right in front of the big open doors letting the fresh air in. Sunday winter evenings seem to be a slower time at the Crossroads Collective, so we were able to easily get a seat right at the bar. Their specialty cocktail menu isn't expansive but is intriguing and my date and I were able to find a lovely little bourbon number that made our hearts sing. As of 2026, you can ride the shuttle if you either a.) buy two drinks or b.) buy a $10 voucher which can be used for food or drink then or another time. Their shuttle goes to Brewer games as well! We got a drink and the bus showed up not too long after, we were the first on the small bus but it quickly filled. I would say don't be like us, give yourself more time to get there in case the shuttle waits for people or traffic is bad by the destination. My only complaint is on the way back from the fest, the driver took the wrong ramp and we were headed to Bayview until the first exit was available. He didn't communicate that to us which was weird. "Oops, sorry everyone" would have been a normal thing to say. At that point we were Vier South instead of Vier North. Recently we came back to use our vouchers for dinner, the plan was fish fries because we're always on the hunt for a good one. The fish pieces were smaller and you get 4 (my photos make it look larger). We joked it's more like cod nuggets, I'd prefer 2 larger pieces with more fish inside. Some of what you saw was batter and not fish so a little deceiving. The fries and coleslaw were good but we didn't like the sweeter tarter sauce. Overall we were very full but for me, I wouldn't get the fish fry again not due to taste but fish fries are expensive everywhere and I prefer more fish and thinner batter. Next time, I'd try a burger. The cloud bread was on my list to try for a long time but it was just okay in my opinion. Their pizza looks good too so I want to try some other items on the menu. The service was fine, I think we came around a shift change so several people helped us. The interior was well done, it looks so much better now and that patio is a great addition. The bar near the bathrooms has a little sitting area that looked chill. They have poker nights and other fun things so check it out!

I'm old enough to remember the place when it was Rieder's. Already a warm and special place, with a jukebox filled with classical music, it had a groovy mid century modern decor and was a hangout for MSO musicians after concerts. It acquired its lavish, present-day German decor when it was sold to Karl Lotharius. I don't recall how much longer, after that, the jukebox survived, but the astounding decor remains. Alas, there's a reason for my one star (which, I hope and assume, the present owners will notice) . . . and it has to do with a certain scourge -- the maddening omnipresence of which is second only to that of A.I. I refer to TV screens. There have been several ownership changes since Lotharius departed this mortal coil, and I honestly don't know at what point in time it was decided to tarnish the decor with the addition of several TVs. (I was so enraged by the sight of them, when I first entered the front door after a long time away, that I didn't bother to look at the back room; consequently, I have no idea whether the scourge has ruined that room as well.) Clearly, in jumping on the "give the people what they want" bandwagon, the owners (current and/or recent) believe that there's no such thing as too many sports bars (or at least, bars that can be compelled to serve that function at least some of the time). Gosh, I would think that people who are so into SPORTS, when coming upon a bar lacking screens, would have sufficient fitness, energy and motivation to walk a block or two extra, if necessary, to find and enter one of the many other establishments equipped to satisfy their jones for that pathetic fix. But then again, I guess it's that fundamental laziness that makes them mere spectators. There's only one thing worse than a proprietor so lacking in imagination, individuality, courage and self-respect that, when choosing a design for their establishment, they cave to the TV trend. It's a proprietor who ruins an EXISTING treasure by plunking multiple TV screens into the middle of it all. Like turds in a punch bowl. It's great to "get away from it all" for a while, isn't it, for a nice meal, drinks and conversation? The thing is, if I want a TV screen, I can see one at home. (But I don't want to. Not always, anyway. To judge from what TV, movies and commercials show us, every home now has the same standard, ugly, huge plastic rectangle (the TV screen) dominating its designated room(s), out in the open. As for me, I require mine to live inside a closed cabinet. It only comes out when I say that it can.) And, rather than seeing constant reminders that our world has all but become the kind of dystopia in which there's no escaping that intrusive electronic barrage, I could instead just stay at home and watch any of the many sci-fi movies on that theme (a theme that used to be merely a warning. Now, such films more resemble documentaries.) Shame.

They have no fryers, so your side options are basically chips. I ordered a double long island ice tea ($8), which our bartender had no clue how to make, it tasted basically like watered down tequila. They have pre-made bloody Mary's and margaritas in igloo coolers, which seemed to be a draw. Credit cards are accepted.
