Love Finks! It has a cozy vibe mixing up North Wisconsin with downtown MKE. The servers pay attention to all patrons and are fast even when the bar is busy. The dirty sprite is my favorite drink but I like their tequila power station drink and their variety of beers in their beer fridge as well. This place charged me 30 dollar tip on a 19 dollar bill, knowing that I put 3.20 , the number to call is to bell air cantina, and they do not have a voicemail set up. Fun, cozy bar to hang out with people-- my coworkers I often come here after work about once a month or so and it's always a good time. Drinks are good and appropriately priced. The staff is attentive and helpful, but not overly invasive either. It's definitely a fun place to go to happy hour with friends. I would highly recommend adding this to your places that you frequent. The one caveat would be here that there isn't much seating around, so some people are going to be left standing around. The nice thing about this place is that it is also baby friendly, so if a friend has a child that is going to come along, that is perfectly ok. There is also seating available outside, which can be a huge plus in the warmer months. We went on a Wednesday evening during happy hour (4-6pm) when cocktails were $6 AND there are $5 mules all day Wednesdays. I started with the "el diablo" mule which had tequila and creme de cassis. First of all, the drink was BEAUTIFUL. It was so pretty to look at. But even better, it tasted very good! It was the perfect drink to sip out on their beautiful patio. I've walked and drove past Finks many times but finally went in! I had never been sure if this was a dive bar or not. I don't think it quite meets dive bar standards. They require an ID shown no matter what at the front. Everything is kept up, but there's lots of color, maybe darkish, wallpaper in one area of a forest, a small fireplace, and arcade games. There's not so much Knick knacks though. The layout is a rectangle. The bar takes most of the middle left side. There are stools along it as well. If they are full this can make walking past, as well as ordering difficult. In the back is a large table making it good for groups if the table is free, otherwise you are better having 4 or less people. The service was quick. They have 8 taps, one currently is an expresso martini for $9. The taps are written on tap making it easy to see and read. They say they have 90 different bottles or cans. They do have a giant refrigerator off the bar that showcases these. The nice part of this set up is you can actually see the beers. Weekdays it's open 4PM to 2AM. Weekends it's open 2PM to 2AM. Finks is the neighborhood bar that I wish was in my neighborhood. The atmosphere appears like most Wisconsin bars upon first entering. It is a dark bar with a long bar and friendly bartenders and patrons. They have games, pinball, and of course, pull tabs. To me Finks is like an elevated dive bar. Everything is clean including their gender neutral bathrooms. Now I feel like it's easy to walk in here and order a beer, they have a few options on tap, and a large fridge full of canned options. But if you do that, you are missing out on great cocktails. They have tons of Mules, and fun other season cocktails depending on when you go. I would definitely recommend ordering a fun drink here! My favorite part of finks, is also my favorite part of Mileaukee, it shows off in the summer! They have the cutest back patio nestled between some trees and hanging lights to feel like you have escaped the city despite being on water street. This Uncle Buck is a smooth concoction of bourbon, maple syrup, lemon, amaro, and Bittercube cherrybark vanilla bitters and is by FAR my favorite cocktail in Milwaukee. If I lived closer I'd be here daily to drink this heavenly nectar of the mixology gods... Oh, so you want to know about the rest of the place and not just one cocktail? The vibe is dark, intimate and cozy, with pinballs in the back, a rack of boardgames, kung fu on the TV and the sweet sounds of Wu-Tang and friendly conversion filling the space. Sure they have great cocktails, but you can also still get a $2 beer. Finks is for the populace. Out back is a massive patio designed by Rinka that mimics the shape of the building and more than doubles the bars space on those warm weather days. The patio features tons of seating options, a dedicated bags court, oversized connect four, and the starlike magic of string lights running the entire length. Grab a board game, sit at a hightop facing the perfect people watching of Water St., and you'll be set for the night. I regularly go to Finks and have really liked it for years, so I organized a group of about 10 people to get together on the patio for my birthday earlier this month. Unfortunately one of the bartenders was incredibly rude to me, and I overheard her talking to other customers about how I took too long to long to order me a drink but she had to be nice to me because it's my birthday. I called her out for gossiping about me with other customers, and rather than own up to it and immediately apologize, she looked stunned and replied "you have really good hearing." She eventually apologized, but this was super out of pocket and could not believe this was the treatment I received when I brought a group of people there for my 28th birthday. I will maybe go back to Finks if friends want to, but will never bring a group again. read more

Came here on a rainy summer's eve to grab a drink before heading to dinner. They have a pretty extensive beer menu with 8 taps and a bottle menu 90 bottles deep. So, definitely a spot worth stopping for the craft brew lovers. Their cocktail menu is limited but with a few different bourbon cocktail options--it proved too intriguing to pass up. I got an up Manhattan made with Old Overholt Rye. Garnished with a Luxardo cherry, it was spot on perfect. I also had a sip of my husband's Uncle Buck (Buck bourbon, maple syrup, lemon, amaro, and bitters) which was also outstanding. And, finally, we shared a Clockwork 9 (Knob creek, orange, Rosemary simple, orange marmalade, egg white, and bitters) which was also wonderful (I feared it would be too sweet for me, but it wasn't!). Their space is small, but inviting. There's bar seating and a few high tops sprinkled throughout the space. It's absolutely cozy. They also have a lovely patio out back with plenty of seating as well. They have five or so pinball machines as well as a few other video games (Pac Man in the house!). It's one of those rare spaces that would be great for a number of occasions. Looking to hang with a large group during patio season? This is your spot. Wanting an intimate cocktail date? Shame on me. I've been to Finks a zillion times and never reviewed the place! So shameful. I love Fink's. It's a solid dive bar that takes tiny bars and turns it on its head. At Fink's you'll enjoy some of the best old fashioned you can find in Milwaukee and the service is great. Built on a somewhat younger crowd the place motto's itself after trendy, shabby chic digs, that until more recently will soon see an entire new patio setup in the back. I am looking forward to that! Along with the trendiness you can also play board games, classic video games and a few pinball machines. Fink's just really is a place built to kick it and yes they can! Between the dimly lit interior and the super accessible ease of getting to anything Eastside or anything up on Brady Street it really is hard to beat the place. Location, location, location. Finks has been around awhile, but I hadn't stopped in until recently. That's a shame because it's a nice, reasonably chill bar that serves up really good drinks. Their old Fashioned is one of the absolute best I've had in town - not too sweet, heavy on the bitters. If you're a beer person, you'll find plenty to be happy about regardless of if you want a fancy IPA or a simple Miller product. Don't expect much in the way of wine - the hipster crowd doesn't much ask for that, I guess. If you like vintage/pinball video games, Finks should definitely be a stop as they have a good number of machines. I have a love-hate relationship with Finks. It has an amazing location right off of water Street across from Bel Air and their cocktails are very tasty. They have a lot of rotating tops for their beers which is also amazing. Their downfall is the bartenders. On one occasion, I had a bartender take my drink when there were still sips at the bottom. Also they were rude to my friends and I when we were sitting at the bar chatting while one of our friends was finishing their drink. We had already bought a drink and we were driving home, so we didn't want to get another round while she was finishing. You could tell the bartender was very salty about this. also, on an early Sunday afternoon I had a bartender refuse to make a Bloody Mary. This was very disappointing because it was a beautiful day on a weekend, which is perfect for a Bloody Mary. read more

The new old Redroom, almost exactly. Almost. I was surprised at how much I dug this place post re-vamp. I suspect it's because they really didn't change anything too drastically. Finks: owned by the same folks that own Bel-Air (across the street), Balzac, Hi-Hat, Palomino, you know... I love that they're not trying to be something more than a corner bar at Finks. This spot's got a few select craft taps, but beyond that, most of the by the bottle barley pop offerings are pretty standard. They do two versions of the (in)famous Old-Fashioned and a Sidecar and another classic cocktail that I forgot what it was and at six bucks a pop, they won't break the bank. Let's talk CANS (& not the now-defunct hellhole on Kenilworth): Hamms and Old Style in cans at two dollaz (make you holla)! I do think two bucks for a tiny Rhinie - no matter how adorable - is a bit much, however. But! Now, with new, comfier bar stools. Huzzah! With homey and hip yet not over the top decor, a laid-back vibe, and old school Cheers on the tube, Finks makes room for itself by virtue of its chilled-out cool in a city already replete with corner bars. Yup, I've heard it said that this is the first time that Riverwest has crossed over the Humboldt Ave Bridge! I've been here twice now, once for Monday Night Football and their free brat with purchase of a drink special, and another time for some beers with my brother. Their tap list is small, but unique. A bunch of the brews you can't find on tap anywhere else in the city. Prices are reasonable and they have drink specials during the week. The atmosphere is chill and it's more of a cozy place to have a good conversation. read more
