Only 12 persons at a time in the shop right now and mask required! This was a total jem of a find. Possibly the best selection of anime/manga in one place, according to my daughter. I was looking for manga for my 10 yo daughter and the staff was really helpful in leading me to checkout a few series I otherwise would have never known about! Only disappointing thing maybe is that we were interested in quite a few books but many of them vol 1 and 2 were not available. But I guess that's a good sign for the shop! read more

It's a good store but definitely not worth buying figures at. They add an additional 10$ on the figures. I know this since I searched the same figures online and are going for 10$ less. So if you like buying anime figures and like to save money go on Amazon or other retailers. Also if you hate tight spaces don't go when it's gets busy since it gets very hard to move around with so many people. Other than that it's a good store. This is going to be the best bet in DFW for what's current in anime merch. Always have ichiban/lucky draw games going each month, which is a nice touch. Staff is friendly. Cannot give the full 5 starts because the prices are a little high and very cramped space. But, it's no doubt good, and worth the drive. read more

Neato! Have been visiting this shop since they were stuck in the corner down the way a bit. Always friendly and helpful staff, but new storefront directly on Beltline is so much better, newer, cleaner, and has more inventory. Neither my husband or I are really into anime; however, after a stint in Tokyo are infatuated (that would be a word I would use to describe my husband's feelings; I'm more just re interested) with Japenese stuff. Anime Pop has a great assortment of items including collectible figurines and cards, graphic Ts, videos and games, of course comics, and even some imported edible treats that can't be found many other places. Something for everyone! So, when we're in Addison, we enjoy stopping by to see what's new...and it's a great time to allow the hubster to geek out for a bit with the employees. He especially loves to tell them "in passing" he IS the voice over guy on the Japanese version of the video game Guilty Gear Izuka. ;) True story - when we were in Tokyo he was invited and paid 200 American bucks to go into the studio for a couple of hours. By far one of the geekdom highlights of his life - he would have paid them! "Are you reeeaady?! 1, 2, 3...let's fight!" (#humblebrag) LOL! Overall great store. I'm not going to pretend to be any kind of authority on Anime or the products surrounding the culture. While I enjoyed many shows from Japan when I was younger, we didn't even have the word "anime" at the time. They were just cartoons like any other to us. Star Blazers could sit right alongside Inspector Gadget and there was no distinction. Now though, there is a whole subculture based around anime and the collection of products designed to appeal to those who enjoy it. If you find yourself in need of some anime gear or a collectible, you can likely find it at Anime Pop in Addison, TX. It's a pretty long drive for us as we live in Fort Worth. But once or twice a year my daughter asks me to take her over to Anime Pop. Usually on her birthday. And she always has a good time with it. She always finds a bunch of good stuff that she wants. And it always costs me a bunch of money, but I can't complain about that. Heaven knows that when I find western comics collectibles that I want I buy them, so I don't mind doing the same when she finds anime goodies she'd like to have. This is a good store with helpful courteous staff who are happy to talk about what they have, what's coming, and the anime culture. They are always eager to approach customers and help out. Anime Pop in Addison is the areas #1 Anime and Japanese Pop Culture store. Their new location is awesome, leagues better than the old one that was around the corner. Dual projectors show movies or episodes on the wall as you shop this boutique business. The selection here is unique and diverse, includes magazines, books, manga, dvd's, figurines, apparel, wall-art, keychains, phone cases, toys and even Japanese candies and sodas. The owner here normally looks busy, determined or upset, but he is kind. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful, they know exactly what is in the store. The reason for me to give this place 5 stars out of 4 is the pricing. Nearly everything in this store can be found cheaper on amazon or ebay. To me, I do not mind paying a little more to have it "today" and also to support a local business owner, but in some cases a DVD at Anime Pop was $34.99 and the same one was $19.99 on Amazon. It's not just a little more: its a LOT more in many cases. Despite this, you wont find a cleaner or more organized store, and even just looking around at all of the rare and odd foreign items is a treat for the eyes. They multiply it's original price by 2, I know that because the stuff they had is what I have bought for half the price. Cool and cute little place TOTALLY hidden behind a Shell gas station. Lots of merchandise displayed beautifully and a knowledgeable, sweet manager (also named Jen) to help you find things. Yeah, the prices seem a little shocking but even if you find it cheaper online, it ends up costing about the same or more after having it shipped. Being in this shop took me back to my fun high school days and I felt very happy looking at everything they have. It's definitely a place to check out if you like anime even a little bit. Most definitely a mini-mecca for me. I honestly just checked online for a place where I could possibly find some Gundam Model kits while I was in town and found much more. The employees are great. One of the guys and I chopped it up for while and helped me with some suggestions on shows to check out. I walked out with more than I intended on buying, but I'm still happy with all of my purchases (Including a bunch of japanese snacks). They have a web store, but I'll definitely be swinging by here again next time I'm in Dallas anyway. The prices are pretty high to be honest but they have a lot of interesting things that you pretty much cannot find anywhere else locally! Their stuff is all from Japan they say. And all I have to say is, I found GREEN TEA FLAVORED KITKATS here. I have never ever ever ever seen them anywhere else. They also have drinks and other snacks that are actually not easy to find in a regular Asian market. They have a great gunpla selection with lots of kits I don't usually see. Tons of figurines with lots of variety. They carry brands like max factory, megahouse, goodsmile, bandai and even banpresto prize toys from japan (ichiban kuji). Their biggest selection probably has to be their giant inventory of keychains that range from acrylic to gashapon charms to blind boxes. Super cute little store with all sorts of things. Most of the store is figurines and collectibles, but they also have your typical animes, posters, and mangas. There were also several other things, but I didn't know what they were (haha). I'm not a huge fan of this genre, but I thought this store would be a neat place to check out. I also saw a lot of Attack on Titan gear near the front of the store. Super cool, and prices were on par with online prices, minus the shipping and wait time. Was very impressed with the selection of mangas as well. The employees are extremely friendly and willing to help. They're also very knowledgeable about the items that they sell and what they show/game represent. I loved how there were hundreds of key chains and phone charms. Will be back to pick up some cute key chains. On a side note, I saw a flyer stating that they were going to move locations sometime this summer. So if you have a hard time finding this location, no worries. They're going to move to the complex behind them so that you can see the store better from Belt Line. Definitely a great move; hope they have more items to display the next time I come to visit the new location. read more

Annie pop is an amazing place for anime related products, like figures, books, and DVDs. The selection is better than most other stores out there, and they'll have all kinds of items to buy. If I have only one complaint, it is a little pricey for some of the items. However, Japanese imports tend to be fairly expensive. All in all, this is a good store. read more

Been years since I've visited Anime Pop, so I thought it was time to drag my man to visit one of my old haunts to witness my erstwhile (secretly spendy) anime passion. Maybe it's because I'm older, wiser, and better acquainted with my checkbook that I didn't grab the first manga, dvd/bluray or action figure/collectible that tempted me. (Then again it may have been because I've been saddled with managing several bills and financial obligations over the years.) But I have to say that Anime Pop's recent location (not so obscured now by the gas station facing Belt Line) did a great job with the layout and merchandising. It didn't feel as seedy or cluttered as I last remembered it; display cases were dusted clean and fingerprint-free, books and manga were organized and pristine, toy and model boxes were in good-to-mint shape, and the vast rental dvd selection was alphabetized and well-protected. I felt compelled to buy something, even though it may have been a box of Pocky Sticks or a keychain. Most of their products are imported, and this fact is reflected in the astonishing sticker prices. But mind you, it's not often I visit an anime convention or travel to places where anime products are easy to come by; Anime Pop has outlasted most competitors that have tried to break into the DFW market, and I'm thankful for their staying power. My recent visit at AP has reawakened fond memories of my anime hunting days; I now have to go home and dig out my action figures and dvds and see where I left off and what holes need filling in my collection. read more

The store is small, but packed with stuff. Lot of figures, a decent selection of posters and wall scrolls, phone charms, keychains, manga, anime dvds, Japanese snacks, and magazines. Basically lots of stuff for anime and manga fans. If you live in the area I recommend checking here before purchasing any anime related stuff online.
