I seen a few bad reviews about this place and prob should've read more lol but I still decided to go, just so I could form my own opinion. After taking a few pictures of records to send to my vinyl buddies; the guy told me "hey we don't allow pictures and I've already let you take enough". No sign stating this so idk if this was just a random rule he decided to enforce or if it was actually legit. I go to record shops all over the country and this is the first time I've ever been told not to take pictures lol. first time for everything I guess. if he would've communicated in a way that wasn't so rude, I would've understood. didn't try to help and see what I was looking for, just an old fart. enjoy the shop tho! :)

My real estate customer owns Vinyl Asylum in downtown Hollywood. It is a treasure trove or sports and music memorabilia. It is like a museum with so many interesting items to discover. #paulhellerrealtor #paulheller #bhhsfortlauderdale.

    CLOSED!

Warning! CLOSED!!! F@*k this place! Seriously! Today was the third time we tried to visit this store. Arrived a little after 1pm. Sign on the door says, "Sorry...Closed until October 3rd." WTF??? Nothing on their website, no heads up on Facebook or Instagram, nothing....just CLOSED. Don't was you time, gas, or money here. Totally flakey. Whatever their excuse is, move on and find a better, more reliable store. Vinyl ASSylum sucks.

I purchased a record online from this shop that was grossly overgraded for the high price they wanted. I'm pretty sure they don't know the widely used Goldmine grading system, owner was completely hostile about a return and stood by his grade of 'Near Mint' for a dirty and scratched record. Inspect your purchases well or Avoid this shop altogether.

4.9 stars actually, perfect store, many classics, many great memories, dope shirts, i'm very very impressed, much more than a record store, like a mueseum. 4.9 stars cause the guy like trump, i wouldn't take a whole star for that, he's just confused like my grandma lol

    Great album

It's a humble location; it's in a quiet strip mall off Oakland Park blvd. Honestly, as we pulled in to the mostly empty parking lot I thought we had the wrong location. But as we entered I realized what few mall customers there were, were all in the shop. And what a nice space it was. Old school basic layout that I liked. Just boxes and boxes of vinyl to sift through. They were well organized, with punk, funk, and more all set in their areas. And the RSD specials were displayed above each of the areas they related to. It's not a huge store, but with the limited quantity it helped me find a couple things I liked. Glad to make the acquaintance of We Got the Beats, and hope to be back soon.

The owner/manager (I'm not sure of his exact role), Tony, was super nice and patient despite what I'm sure was a stressful event. I was super impressed by the organization and how smoothly everything went, when it could've very easily been chaotic with hundreds of crazed fans in attendance. Tony also did a great job of making sure that people didn't cut in line, when many did try, and took the time to talk to those of us who had been waiting in line for hours. He also answered tons of questions on social media that people had leading up to the event. I can't convey how impressed I am at how well they pulled off an event of this magnitude, and am beyond grateful for this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Love it here trying to locate that one record from your teen years that you remember playing over and over on those old record players. I just saw Def Leppard in concert so searched for one of there older original albums which I did not find. I did find a new one titled Diamond Star Halos, for $36.99, very expensive, inflation. I spoke with a staff member and said that his store does sell original records although a majority of the 70s and 80s are remastered. During my fun but exhausting search I noticed that they sell old cassette tapes, action figures and band t-shirts.
