My nephew started taking his son here when he was about 5. He loved going to this store! My nephew also enjoyed it. As years went by he bought quite a lot! Tim moved and expanded. My nephew took in his now grown sons stereo for repair. It was just before covid. Then covid hit. We were all sick and things happen. It sat awhile. My nephew kept in touch about it tho. Several texts went back and forth as did a few calls. Suddenly it can't be found! Hmmm how odd! When my nephew called he was told it was "lost" or possibly thrown out! I sincerely doubt either! It's worth on ebay $250-$400 and Tim is well aware of that! To do this to someone he's known since 5 and is now 23 is sad, rude and sketchy to say the least! When my nephew confronted him he basically asked him to leave the store! I've personally heard other record store owners comment on his business practices. They were not positive at all. It's his karma! He had the nerve to try and SELL him ANOTHER for $150 I would not shop here! I certainly would not bring anything in to get fixed. He never called, texted or emailed and said you NEED to pick up your stereo or it will be considered abandoned or sold or anything! He never gave a straight answer! Buyer beware! Went in for a visit with my friend, and we immediately felt off. We were not welcomed in (no hi, how's it going) despite being the only ones there. Worker was watching tv (no worries it was slow totally get it) but it was way loud and didn't lower the volume we basically had to scream to each other to talk. While we were looking did not get asked if we needed help with anything. The atmosphere was just off and we both agreed we felt unsafe to be honest. Selection was nice and organized well, but other than that we feel no reason to come here over other places. Will not be going again read more

Overpriced records, dealer doesn't know enough about his inventory to sell and should not be in operation.

I have frequented this store for the past couple years and have had some luck with classic rock used vinyl at good prices But the last couple times I have visited the assortment is getting stale with too many old records in the bins that are collecting dust and not enough new collectibles and new selections of used vinyl There are better choices in Chicagoland for used vinyl read more

Great place! Wonderful owner who's willing to help you with everything you need. He is also very active in the community doing a food pantry to helping young adults get on there feet. Not only is he an amazing business owner that knows what he talking about, but he an honorable man within the community. I get so excited when I go into his shop to purchase something! Just moved here from San Diego and searched for weeks for a decent record store, then I came across this gem! The owner was extremely knowledgeable and super cool. The selection was awesome! The prices were so fair that its scary because then I end up walking out with more records than I should :) and not to mention the quality of the vinyl was fantastic! I started going here about a decade ago, and it's always the first place I look for records or CDs. The majority of my huge record collection has been bought from here. The owner, Tim, is awesome, and I've enjoyed getting to know him. The records are priced very fair, and he doesn't sell beat up junk. On average, an excellent to near mint condition LP will be only $4 or $5. Rare albums will be a bit more, but always at a fair price. He has great albums from great artists available all the time. If you don't see the album you're looking for, that's probably because somebody beat you to it. Check often for the albums that sell quickly. The CD's are almost always $6.99 or less, which is a heck of a lot better than paying more for lower-quality digital files on something like iTunes. If you want it on your iPod, just rip it to your computer and you'll still have the higher-quality CD, too. It's a no-brainer. If you're looking for vinyl records and/or CDs, make sure you check this store out. There's also a good chance that he might have stereo equipment or guitars for sale when you stop in. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR TURNTABLES TO THEM!!! I took my turntable to be fixed in mid-January. After not receiving any phone calls a month later, I called...I had to call three times before they finally answered the phone. They couldn't tell me what was going on with my turntable but told me they would find out and call me back. They never did. Once again, I called...it took me an additional 2 times to call and an e-mail to get a response. They told me that it would cost $60 to replace the motor. I told them to go ahead and do the repair and to fax me a quote. They never faxed the quote...go figure. A month later after not hearing from them again, I called. They told me that the motor was on back order. At this point, they had my turntable for almost 4 months. I had to consistently keep contacting them in order to get an answer. I decided to pick up my turntable in order to not deal with them anymore. But, low and behold, when I showed up to get it, they didn't know where it was. They told me to come back later in the week to get it. So, I did. When I showed up, the owner was running late so I had to wait 20 minutes for them to open up. When I got my turntable back, there was a crack on the cover and what appears to be a burn mark. Not to mention the fact that the thing was covered in dust. This was a horrible experience. By the way, Tim...who had written other reviews saying how wonderful the store is, happens to be the owner. DO NOT TAKE YOUR STUFF HERE. It is awful. The worst experience ever. I'm patient, obviously I waited longer than I should have to get it fixed. But then to have them give my turntable back to me in worse condition was just a slap in the face. PLEASE DO NOT GO THERE.
