IMO, Viola is a truly accomplished healer. She is literally saving my life! According to Yelp, seems like there are a plethora of excellent acupuncturist healers in the vicinity but it seems inconceivable that they are all operating at Viola's level of skill and knowledge of this ancient Chinese healing practice. Be that as it may, I have been seeing her for not quite a year, at first twice a month and now once a month. She has literally saved my life and improved my level of well-being tremendously so of course I absolutely highly recommend her. She comes from a very traditional Chinese herbalist training (it's in her family for generations) but also integrates a lot of contemporary Chinese healing modalities as well. Long story short, she has improved the quality of my life ten fold and I am hugely grateful! Viola's acupuncture practice is the stuff of miracles. I saw Viola about 7 years for severe knee pain. I was in my early 30s and had dealt with pain for years due to teenage knee injuries. Had surgeries in my early 20s to repair some damage, but still had chronic pain. At this point when I'd get up from my desk at work, it would take a good 5 minutes for my knee to un-stiffen so I could walk normally. I had 2 toddlers and although I took them for daily walks and to the park, my knees were in pain the entire time. My orthopedic surgeon wanted to do yet another surgery to clean up my joints and I wanted to avoid one. I decided I might as well give acupuncture a try, figuring if it didn't help at least it wasn't as extensive or expensive as a surgery. I looked on Yelp and found Viola. Not only was her demeanor calming & compassionate, but her incredible knowledge shined through. And I was so relaxed in my session, I fell asleep! While I know this may not be the case for some, it took just a few sessions for ALL the pain in my knee to end. I could not believe it! I now see her a few times a year for maintenance and other than that am pretty much pain free. She gave me my life back. With no knee pain I was able to exercise and lose 70 pounds. I went to Viola on a recommendation from a friend for a gut issue that I have had for a long time. During this process which has been slowly improving with her help, I became eligible for the Pfizer vaccine. I got my first shot and did not care for myself. It was not pretty. Fever, chills, excessive tiredness and general body ache. For shot #2, I consulted with Viola and she suggested that I come see her the day I got my shot. What a huge difference. No fever, chills or body aches. I had a slight headache that was managed with Tylenol and electrolytes. I have to be honest, after seeing what the 2nd shot was doing to friends and family, I was a bit nervous and to have minimal side effects was a blessing. Some people are afraid to go under the knife while others are afraid of needles. I'll take needles anytime! I am convinced there are too many possible complications with any surgical procedure whereas acupuncture has very little to none in side effects. In my younger days, years of jogging on hard pavements with the constant pounding on my knees have finally taken their toll. I have resorted to acupuncture treatments for years and needed a new acupuncturist when I recently moved to the Santa Rosa area. It was yelp to the rescue and it did not disappoint. There are several acupuncturists to choose from and my personal intuitive feeling led me to Viola Huang Beck. Even before meeting her, I was impressed by her credentials. She was born in China (hey that was where acupuncture originated) and well educated in the US in traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture. She did her post grad work in several Shanghai hospitals after her Masters degree in Chinese medicine, She is a compassionate lady who offered me very affordable rates and meticulous care. Being a licensed acupuncturist, my primary purpose was to seek her help in pain management. I know her expertise encompassed a much wider area. She provided me with significant relief from knee osteoarthritic pain and offered me therapeutic efficacy in the treatment of my chronic lower back pain. Let me tell you that back pain can be excruciating and can be much more intolerable than any royal pain in the a$$! Viola is gentle with her needles. When they are inserted, it feels more like a pinprick than a sharp pain like when you get a shot. No two treatments are the same as far as the needle sites go. My back and arthritic pain level were like an 8 out of 10 when I first saw her and it dropped to as low as 2 out of 10 in a month with two sessions a week. My biggest satisfaction is she helped me get rid of my dependency on vicodin (painkillers) and muscle relaxers. I highly recommend her as Eastern medicine and acupuncture can sometimes produce far better results than prescription pharmaceutical drugs and with a lot less side effects. read more

One has to give five stars to a person who takes pain away so quickly. I literally dragged myself in there recently from SEVERE sciatica pain and was able to hobble out with no assistance after the very first treatment. I was in pretty good shape just a week later and have only Viola to thank! I found Viola when my back went out on me again. First time in years that it was this bad, couldn't walk without assistance for 4 days, pain was so bad that my prescribed Tylenol 4 didn't even take of the edge, frustration and tears...it was SCARY bad. It has been 2 months to date since my first treatment. I can say that I have had zero pain, can walk with correct posture and feel like a totally different person.
