At that time, we could only hope and pray that one day things would be different. Today, two years later, our child is attending a mainstream classroom alongside other children. For our entire family, this is incredibly meaningful. We see a huge difference: our child has become more independent, more confident, communicates better, and is much more comfortable navigating everyday life. As parents, there is nothing more rewarding than seeing your child grow and have opportunities that once seemed out of reach. To be honest I was at skeptical at first on whether the program would work. I understood everything…read morebehind it, and it all made sense, but the program is an investment. That being said, my daughter has recently completed a 72 hour session and I'm blown away by the progress she's made in such a short amount of time. She went from being in a group that needed extra time with the teacher for reading to exceeding her Iready assessment results. Her handwriting is more legible. She can now sit still for periods of time without immediately getting impatient. She is now more open to trying new foods. Before the program she would not touch a strawberry or blueberry, but now she eats them weekly. She used to be anxious, and is still anxious, but is a bit quicker to identify her emotions and process things better. I understand every kid/brain is different but for US, we trusted the process, tried our best to keep up with the home exercises, and we are seeing results in day to day life. I honestly believe that adults (not just kids) would benefit from a program like this. Super grateful to have found them to make my daughter's life easier and set her up for success long term.

We moved to Nevada and determined our house based off of the schools our children would attend. We…read morepicked Green Valley because of this school. My daughter was very smart prior to moving here and this school didn't slow her down. She has continued to excel in reading, math, science and Physical education. She has taken after school activities such as piano, yoga and even fun activity clubs and loved every one of them. I was able to see my child from a public trail and was quickly spotted by the PE coach as she confronted me and confirmed with my daughter that she knew me. I was really happy that the teachers have that level of care for the kids to ensure I wasn't a creep. The PTO does amazing things with a lot of dedicated parents participating. My experience with the teachers thus far has been amazing. You get a chance to meet more of them at community events and fundraiser dinners the PTO creates. The traffic came back up for drop off. The principal and other teachers out in the parking lot trying to keep parents moving any methodical pace. There is a flow to the process to ensure all kids get dropped off quickly and in a safe manner. The crossing guards are always there and always have a children's safety as the number one priority from what I've seen. I'm also amazed how the people letting the children into the school in the morning seem to know nearly every single one of them. My child's experience has been great. We dedicate a lot of time at home with our children to help them learn that at school. It seems the teachers do the same which makes the school work very well for us and our level of involvement with the children. The ram run is an opportunity for the kids to run laps in the morning before school starts and a great opportunity to motivate them to stay more active. My daughter really liked this and over the course of the ram run duration from October to May, she ran over 60 mi with a couple laps each day. This is not required and starts about 15 minutes before the bell rings. SafeKey is offered before and after school. I have only used a before school option. I know this is a CCSD provided function and not a school function but I asked the SafeKey teachers how they manage a number of teachers versus students and they told me they provide the appropriate number of teachers for whatever children are signed up for the SafeKey that day. One afternoon, I watched children throwing rocks into the backyards of houses so long the trail. I didn't expect there to be enough SafeKey teachers to be able to watch every kid at all times since they are all playing in the large playground. I told the kids to stop and they did. I then went over to the school to talk to the SafeKey teachers and they address it immediately. I never saw any children throw rocks again. Overall I think the teachers of the school are very attentive from my experience. I think the pickup and drop off goes as efficiently as it can go since the school doesn't actually have a large parking lot for everybody to park. It seems like the PTO and staff are dedicated to provide the best environment they can provide. I am very happy that I chose to live in an area that is zoned for this highly rated school.

You want to get there early for a good parking spot, but there 2 neighborhoods from each side also have a walkway that's very accessible to park there and walk. I recommend parents to get involved in their kids' school if they want to bring change to it. My kids are happy there and any issues that have come up have been resolved by teachers and other staff. - The RBT slapped my child's hands so hard he jumped up and screeched so loud it echo'ed through…read morethe center. - Janelle Saunders, who was NOT in the room, hollered back at my son to comply. - The supervisor Marissa instructed the RBT to push my toddler back in his chair. - The RBT put both hands on his shoulders and pushed him back in his chair. - My child wouldn't look at the RBT who slapped and pushed him for pronunciation, so they grabbed his faced and FORCED him to look at them. - My feedback, along with his mothers, was that our son didn't need to get slapped or pushed around to learn. Jon Paul Suanders response was to ask me into his office "to teach me a lesson" which included: - the techniques I witnessed are the only way he knows ABA therapy to work. - I can expect this treatment toward my toddler to continue. - He stands firmly behind his RBT's Kudos for JP's blind loyalty to the RBT's, but the 2-week fresh RBT was the least of my concerns. - The supervisor *ESCALATING* the abusive tactics was my #1 concern. - Janelle *BLINDLY* yelling at my son to comply with ANY treatment being dished out was my #2 concern. - One week prior, my mostly non-verbal son *REFUSED* to get in the car torturously crying "I WANT PAPA! I WANT PAPA! I WANT PAPA! (x20)" If this is the treatment they were showing to us parents in person, we were afraid of what they did or were planning to do when we weren't there. From what I recall, Jon Paul insisted that "He doesn't know every Autistic person perfectly, but he is the master at ABA and these techniques were necessary". These are the techniques I witnessed: When the RBT raced my sons hands to the iPad - I heard a CRACKING SOUND, my son JUMPED and SCREECHED, and then I watched my 3yr old toddler rubbing his hands from the sting of being slapped. I consider that a "slapping-technique". Both hands on both shoulders, forcibly pushing him in the chair, I call it the "shoving technique". When my son wouldn't look at the RBT using the "slapping and shoving techniques", she grabbed under his chin and forced him to look at her, I call the "face yanking" technique. It is worth noting that my son had done this particular exercise hundreds of times prior - the only thing new they were showing me were the abusive techniques. I am no ABA expert myself - but as an autistic parent who comes from an abusive household, I know first hand the self-doubting, suicidal, high anxiety behaviors that result from slapping an autistic child as he is desperately trying to follow confusing instructions. There is also a TON of modern science that shows a clear correlation between these traumatizing events and PTSD, depression, and anxiety later in life. The financial fallout from ACW's RBT hitting my child is severe. It's a 3 month wait to the pediatrician, and THEN 3 month wait to another therapists, at best. So now it's private tutors, private pre-school, and no insurance help what-so-ever. Lawyers have made it clear: no bruising, no blood, no interest. And that is why I think it's important to leave this review - the only thing protecting you child from being abused up to the point of bruising is TRUST from their care providers. When I pointed out that their staff was hitting my child, their only response was to try and distract and discredit me. As an example, I wanted to discuss the fact their staff slapped my child in front of me and his mother and what corrective action would be taken, however, Jon Paul Saunders #1 concern was that 6 MONTHS PRIOR I had let my child jump on the bed for 5 minutes after 7 hours of therapy and 30 minutes of crying. This was considered "stepping on the RBT's toes". It became increasingly clear to me that the RBT's feelings were more important than my child's physical safety and mental integrity. Perhaps I do owe an apology to the RBT though - I had accused them of *accidentally* slapping my child, but considering the both of the Saunders, as well as the Supervisor applauded these techniques applied to my toddler I can only assume this is an intentional part of their programming. In all honesty, in the 18 months at ACW I never ONCE saw a child that was 5 years old and ready for kindergarten. I genuinely think the Saunders lack the technical capabilities to educate a child that far and it has been both costly and distressing to find out in this manner. I did NOT find the Saunders willing, wanting, or capable of enforcing the "neutral and positive touches" policy Autism Care West had advertised to me and my wife when we joined. I kindly ask the owners of Autism Care West to review their programming, policies, and procedures to ensure they comply with the "neutral and positive touch" policy they advertise.

Horrible experience with their interview process. The very young sounding recruiter, let us call…read moreher Cor, called me and started asking all kinds of questions and even patronizingly said wow when I answered her question about if I had a bachelors degree, to which I responded by saying that yes and I also received an MBA as well. I thought it was interesting that she said wow. Now looking back she was being very condescending. She sent a Calendly for the second interview, so I selected the 1 PM slot on the day of the interview just about 30 minutes before an email arrived from another woman, let us call her McK, who said you are invited for the second interview but it was for 8 AM the next day and not a single mention about the upcoming interview at 1 PM. However, the fact that she scheduled me for 8 AM without even asking about my time availability was kind of inconsiderate. I still showed up for the 1 PM interview but it was a no show and no response when I emailed her about me waiting in the room and asking if we were still scheduled. I left after waiting for 15 minutes and then showed up for the 8 AM interview the following day but again a no show. I emailed again to see if everything was ok. I was being very polite and even tried to give them the benefit of the doubt thinking there was a mix up, but the fact that they never responded to my emails asking about the interview time or if the schedule had changed was very confusing and frustrating to me. I even emailed the first woman, Cor, who initially interviewed me, but no response from her either. The following day I received a generic email from them saying they have moved on with another candidate. In summary, if this is the way they treat another human being who never did anything wrong to them, then I would stay away from them and avoid this company completely.
