Came here on a whim for a date night with hubby. Pizza is delicious and the portions are pretty filling! They have a lunch special where you can get half a pizza and half a salad for a reduced price. However they don't offer all pizzas for that special, only a selected few. We ended up ordering from the main menu 1 pizza and a salad and just sharing that amongst ourselves, and that was plenty of food. Service was great as well, our server was patient, knowledgeable and brought us our food on time and checked in on us if we needed anything. One significant thing about this place is the back patio. It's absolutely gorgeous!! You sit outside and have a lovely view of the water. I would come back just for that view. Highly recommend eating here if you are in the area! It does tend to get crowded so I recommend coming early to get a table! read more

A well-known resto along the waterfront of ste anne de bellevue. Went with my friends to celebrate a birthday, and they are okay with accommodating groups! Most of us took advantage of the lunch special, where you can get half a pizza and half a salad, along with coffee or tea afterwards. The pizza was very good with ample toppings and the salad was fresh. There is a bottle of chili oil on the table that you can have with your pizza and together it was very tasty. Service was not super friendly but perfunctory and efficient. Overall it definitely is a step above your standard pizza place - there's a lot of creative options and the pizza is good quality. Prices are reasonable, especially for the lunch special. I would come again if I am looking for a place in the area to eat with friends! read more

Violet Angel used to be one of my two favorite places to go over lunch in Ste Anne, the reason being their delicious thin crust pizza. The service is not always very fast but always friendly but then I have only been there for lunch, so maybe they time the food better at dinner time. For the sake of this review I am trying hard to remember which pizza was my pizza of choice but it's not coming back to me. I really like this place. Probably best pizza in the city. I love how everything is made onsite. The extra work and care they put in the details, that's what makes the difference. Popped in on a Saturday night what luck as this is the perfect restaurant with good quality food & generous toppings on the pizza's. The best Pizza I have tasted on the West Island. The salads are fresh tasty with perfect homemade dressings. The service was amazing, nice friendly environment. Desserts are homemade with fresh ingredients. Had a bad experience at Violet Angel a couple of nights ago. Fired off an email to them (I am not the type to cause a scene) and Nik, the owner, responded the same evening apologetic about my misfortune. I have given them a 5 star rating because that is what they deserve. The food is great, the place is nice and the staff, although in training, is nice. I have been a Violet Angel customer for many many years and do enjoy the food and hospitality. I do recommend the place. read more

These guys are a bit pretentious about their cafe, actin like it's a fancy restaurant or something. Went with my family on a Monday afternoon looking for a charming place to share a pitcher and some appetizers. The wait staff got uppity saying we couldn't just get drinks and apps, that we had to order food. Keep in mind nothing on the menu or anywhere in the restaurant indicates this was the case. It's clearly a cafe with outdoor seating. - just the type of place to have some beers and light food. They did relent and let us stay ordering a pitcher and two apps. Food and beer were both okay, scenery is great and so is the ambiance. Again, we went looking for some place charming, this place looked charming but the rigid attitude of the wait staff less so. read more

One of the cutest restaurants I've been to in the west part of town. The food, atmosphere and service is all A1. The drinks and desert make the cut as well. Would recommend this place to everyone. Really great restaurant with great service and fantastic food. We went as a large group and was able to sample quite a few items on the menu. I honestly can't say that I disliked anything. The food is fresh and made to perfection. My only "negative" feedback would be about the vines over the tables. Dropped by last night after a bike ride for dinner on the terrace. It was busy but we were seated quickly. Took a long time to get water, then even longer for the waiter to come and take our order. Waiter seemed new and unsure of himself. ok whatever. the table ordered 2 pizzas and 2 salads. The waiter confirmed with me that I was having a salad and there would be an additional charge for the chicken. Ok, fine. A long time later the waiter arrived with 3 pizzas. We informed him of the mistake, another colleague came along and confirmed that 3 pizzas and 1 salad had been entered in the system. Ok fine just fix the problem. My husband mentioned to the waiter that this new order should go to the top of the queue. The other salad arrives and my dining partners dig in. I have a slice of my husband's pizza figuring it won't be long. The food was good, very tasty, nice toppings. More time passes. We ask again about my salad. "Shouldn't be long". OK. Later my dining partners have finished their meals, the waiter has taken their plates and then my dinner arrives. When it arrives we tell the waiter that we are expecting some kind of compensation on the bill. The bills arrive and there is no discount on the price. We ask again. The waiter tells us that they don't do that. We ask to speak to the manager. The waiter runs off and comes back to tell s she's busy and if we want to speak to her we have to go see her. FINE! My husband goes into the restaurant to speak to the manager. She is inside sitting on a stool not looking too busy. She makes it clear that they don't compensate for mistakes. We state that every other restaurant we've ever been to has done something. Then someone from the kitchen yells at my husband that he doesn't care if we don't like it and he doesn't care if we don't come back. Needless to say we won't be back. The 2 stars is only for the quality of the food - not for the experience. read more

I can't believe what we experienced tonight. Coming to Ste-Anne's from downtown to celebrate my friend's pregnancy. Within 10 minutes of sitting down, we witnessed the owner YELLING and SWEARING at 2 of his employees. An employee informed us the 2 employees he is belittling and demeaning is because they gave their two weeks' notice. My pregnant friend decides to politely address him because he is YELLING and SWEARING and these two young adults. He yelled back at her, told her "I didn't ask for you opinion, if you haven't ordered yet, leave!". Clearly, we got up and left. He made sure to swear at us on our way out. I can't believe what we just witnessed. My friend confirmed this was the owner, as she dealt With him planning her wedding rehearsal dinner 3 years ago. I hope those two young individuals aren't marked/scarred by exercising their human rights to give 2 weeks resignation to their employer. I'm holding back and staying polite... I would have a lot more to say about the indecency this man had. read more

We came about this restaurant haphazardly. We were pleasantly surprised to eat such great food and have excellent service. We had the feta/tomato bake, shrimp/grilled sausage and spinach salad. Top that off with a couple of glasses of wine and a beautiful view, and you get your 5 stars. HIGHLY recommended,especially in comparison to other restos on the boardwalk. read more
