Their hospitality leading up to the ride was fantastic, the weather was a bit 'iffy' so we ended up pushing back to later in the afternoon. It was still a bit cold and overcast when we arrived and we ended up being the only couple to join them. Blankets were in the carriage waiting for us and we were greeted as soon as we pulled up, the ride was enjoyable and informative... we learned about the farm and a bit about the battle, both Bill and Bonnie were super friendly and it was a pleasure to meet them! After the ride was over we had the opportunity to go back to the barn and meet all the horses. We learned more about each of them and got to feed them carrots, absolutely worth the price and a ride we would definitely do again, hopefully under better weather next time!

At King's View Acres the focus isn't just on riding, in addition to that, Ellen teaches kids how to properly take care of their horse inside and out. The stables are always clean, and the horses are clearly happy/healthy. Overall this has been a great experience for my child, she's more confident and eager to tackle challenges. Location is great and the area schools support drop offs which is super convenient and a time saver.

Our goal is to help our riders be more that just a rider. There is more to being an equestrian. Understanding basic elements of horse care and equipment are essential to this purpose. Our riding environment, lessons and techniques also differs from many facilities in the area as well. Our philosophy and focus here is to develop a positive learning environment and a sense of team while focusing on the needs of the horse and rider. We want to create an atmosphere of mutual encouragement, respect and communication. The exchanging of ideas and team building, while incorporating fun, creative lessons and activities, are encouraged. Lessons will concentrate on both horse and rider by means of individualized lessons geared for the horse and rider's appropriate skill level. We want to give the rider a better understanding of horse behavior and their own tendencies and how that affects the bio-mechanics of both themselves and the horse. This understanding will make them critical thinkers and better riders and as a result benefit their horses. Staff were fun, easy to engage and made all participants feel welcomed and comfortable no matter their riding experience. As a solo party they made me feel welcomed and included. The horses were wonderfully well behaved. The tour guide was knowledgeable and easy to engage. The tour guide informed us that this is a female owned business and is highly ethical. The pros: The staff is awesome. They get 6 stars. They did a great job explaining safety and how to handle the horse. This is extremely helpful for those with no riding experience. They provide helmets and a radio receiver with an earbud to listen to some canned recording explaining some background of personnel, battles, and music. You get to ride right next to some historic buildings and farmhouses that you wouldn't be able to on a road or bus tour. The cons: Unless you get a certified guide, they are not allowed to narrate the history of the battle as you ride along the trail. We did not have a guide along with our group for the ride so it was fairly quiet most of the ride. Unless you are very well versed with the locations of the army units and battle locations, the ride might be a bit confusing. If you can tie this into the end of a visit to Gettysburg with the museum, film, bus or car tour, then it will be a blast.
