Probably has got to be one of the best game stores in town! I have always went in there with my trade ins when I was low on cash and they always gave me a reasonable price for trade in. if the game I brought in was not worth much they would tell me I have a better chance selling it on craigslist if I need more cash. if you are looking for that old vintage game then look no further because your best chance of finding it in town is VIP GameStore. I have followed these guys from Gamestop to ABU games and I was so glad to finally see them open their own game store instead of working for companies that ACTUALLY try to low ball you or sell you something you don't want or need. Glad I can go into this store without being asked "do you want to reserve this game that's coming out soon?" or "would you like game protection for 2.00?" some of these "other" game stores make me feel like they are trying to squeeze every last dollar from me instead of letting me just get what I needed and leave. V.I.P. Games is, bar none, the best video game store I've ever been to. Every other game or video store has claimed in the past that their number one priority is their customer satisfaction, and unlike V.I.P.'s competitors, it becomes very obvious very fast that V.I.P. cares about their customers. My original Xbox 360 broke down, so I decided one day to purchase a new one here at V.I.P. Games. I was able to sell a few of my unused games, and in the end I got a new Xbox 360 for roughly $15. Soon after, that Xbox broke down, and I returned it to V.I.P. Games to see what they could do. They gave me another Xbox to replace the broken one for FREE. To further promote their customer service, V.I.P. Games will let you know if the game your looking for can be found cheaper elsewhere. Also, if you've been looking for a specific game for quite some time, V.I.P. Games will have a copy of that game shipped in just for you. V.I.P. I've come to VIP since around 3 months after they openned I believe. One thing is true about the place: You WILL NOT find another business around town that is more honest and good natured. The owners are two of the best and fair people and I have met in Boise. period. I've seen on a few occasions where a person was asking for a certain item of game, VIP did not have it on hand, and VIP CALLED AROUND TOWN FOR THESE PEOPLE IN ORDER TO PLEASE THE COSTUMER!!! Why not help somebody find what they are seeking even if it is not through you? They really are all about you and really do practice business by the golden rule. VIP Games is as good as it gets. I shop at many stores and I would recommend VIP first to anyone. The service is better than you're going to get anywhere else. Period. Even if they are busy, (which they can be) they acknowledge every person as they walk in the door and make sure to attend to the questions, concerns, the "I'm looking for..". I appreciate that the inventory is amazing. For every system, with accessories and a really good selection of used DVD's. The fact that this is a family, small business is good for everyone. This is easily the best game store in Boise. The selection is basically limitless, and you won't find better atmosphere anywhere. Bill and Reid are extremely friendly, and always helpful. If they don't have something in the store, they'll order it for you at the best price they can find. I know some chain game stores will do this, but at VIP, you can even do it with used games, even if they are very rare. They also have a really great DVD selection, especially in the anime department. The store can be a bit cluttered at times, but this is because they are constantly getting new games and consoles in stock, which makes it really exciting to visit. Greatest game store in the boise area hands down. Locally owned and still the fairest prices in town. The service is immaculate. Positive people that don't pressure you for the sale. The kind of people that you can have a conversation with. If you go in once or a thousand times you get treated with equal respect. VIP Games is great. They are always friendly and helpful, and very knowledgeable about their products. They will even look things up for you if you are unsure about something! They have great prices, and price match with gamestop and Amazon. They always tell me if I am getting a game that should have an additional disc (like a GOTY or extra features) and say if it is missing or not. And I love their artwork when the game didn't have any. I love this store, every time I come in, they are incredibly helpful and have a wide variety of games and game accessories for fair prices, as well as a ton of retro games. If by the chance they don't have the game you are looking for, they will call other places including those competitors to find it for you. They go above and beyond! Also if you are selling or trading in games, go to these guys, they will be super fair with what they give you, unlike game stop that gives you like 25 cent for a brand new game. 10 stars instead of 5 for vip. read more

This is honestly... A pretty rad store. They have fair prices, plenty of games, both used and new, friendly staff that will always help you find what your looking for, even if they don't have it in store, and they have plenty of items for both old school consoles and new consoles. The only problem I have with the store is the simple fact that the location of it is a out of town aways, but this is just a nitpick. Best deals in town on video games. Huge variety, of current and older generation games. They will special order anything at a good price. They rent to own all their used inventory and carry a decent selection of blu rays and DVDs. If you got old stuff they will give you the best trade value or cash amount you could get outside of directly selling it yourself. Ive been going here for the last couple years and never had a bad time there. Even with my toddler with me, the owner doesnt mind if hes running amok so long as there aren't a lot of people or hes destroying things.
