I do not recommend VIP nails and spa. I went in two days before my wedding (with my rehearsal dinner the next day) and showed the tech a photo of exactly what I wanted. They said they could do it. After over 3.5 hours, I ended up with exact opposite of what I had asked for. I left in tears, hoping to get them fixed elsewhere but by then it was already 6 p.m., and no salons had openings. My now-husband called to ask if they would fix them, and while they agreed, the atmosphere was incredibly uncomfortable. The staff were arguing with each other while the tech aggressively filed my nails. Even after the "fix," my nails still looked nothing like what I asked for, and I wasn't offered any kind of apology or discount. This experience was completely unprofessional and extremely disappointing ,especially before such an important event in my life. read more

My daughter and I went there the day before Thanksgiving 2021. Both the gentleman doing my nails and the woman with my daughter were very rough. She was cut three times with a nail file because the woman was being so aggressive with her. Also, the gentleman doing my nails cut the cuticle area. I let him know he was cutting my skin but he continued to be unnecessary aggressive. Additionally, my daughter brought in a picture of an example of the color she would like. The woman proceeded to trim her nails like the photo and when we tried to explain that she didn't want that shape she became very defensive. My daughter was so uncomfortable that she asked conceded and let the woman trim her nails like the same photo...since she has already completed almost half of one hand anyway. I don't get my nails done often- I usually give myself dip manicures at home. But I felt like treating myself to a manicure/ pedicure last Saturday. I will say it was nice that they were able to get me an appointment an hour before close. My pedicure looks great, but I'm so upset about my manicure. When they started on my nails the woman did not prep my nails correctly, and cut my thumb cuticle pretty bad. I get it, sometimes the file hits and it happens, but I've never bled to the point where my blood was beading..(gross I know. Especially in a salon.) That night my left pointer finger chipped, the next day my right pointer finger chipped. Monday I went to get it fixed and a woman started filing the failed dip away. She then got up and a man finished removing the dip. Which was ok, but he has JUST been outside smoking, so I had to sit and smell cigarette smoke. He didn't even wash his hands after coming in from smoking at the front of the store- and the front door of this business was open, and he was definitely not 25 feet away. One nail I was able to file down myself and the right pointer finger was fixed. However, a week later they keep chipping, my cuticles are absolutely wrecked, and all the nails are lifting. I will not be returning and I suggest you find a different salon. Aren't dip nails supposed to last two weeks?! read more

I will never go back. The facility is run down and I believe the owner is getting over on customers. I STOPPED into VIP Nails after a flight from GA and requested a Gel nail fill which is stated on their menu as $35 and a Pedicure. I was told once my Pedicure became that I would be charged an extra $5 to remove the polish from my toes because I didn't have my toes painted from their nail shop. I asked how is that possible to be charged extra because your previous service was not with their facility. The response from the workers was that's how the owner builds loyalty amongst their customers. Ridiculous. Then, when I inquired about how much extra it would be to add a design to 1 nail, I was told that $3 each. Once it was time to create a design employees switched and I was informed that it would be $10 per nail for a design because the normal design person was unavailable. Total waste of time. I didn't get my nails done and the Pedicure was amateur at best. The employee sat with her legs wide open with a dress open, as she painted my toes. Very disgusting, if you are from out of town or don't live in Skagit don't walk RUN.... place is not worth the time! read more

I do not recommend this place at all. It is NOT sanitary!!!! The woman doing my pedicure shared her tools with the woman next to her without sanitizing them. They also did not change their gloves between clients, and did a spray and wipe on the pedicure bowls instead of fully sanitizing them. The only reason I gave them two stars is because my nail polish looks cute. I have been going here for almost 2 years and have never had issues until today. I came in and wanted a full set of acrylics put on and wanted them round and short. I came out with square, long, jagged edges and my cuticles looking a mess. They charged me $45 for this. I ended up going back an hour later to get them shorter and round and to just be somewhat ok for a week. They took the Dremel and shortened them then filed to roundish and was done. They did not even repaint the clear coat back on my nails. I am very sad and frustrated that they were the place I have been going and getting complements many time on how my nails looked and will not be going back. read more

I got a fresh full set that looks about a week old with gel shellac. The polish isn't even even or thoroughly covering my nails. Neither is the acrylic. I asked for my cuticles to be trimmed and she made my cuticles bleed. Didn't offer to clean off the blood or even sanitize the tools. Stuck them back in her drawer. Retold the blood stained towel. I've tried this salon numerous times over the last several years and have never been truly satisfied. I only tried it again because it is close to my house and I had many things to do on Friday. The people are nice enough and the equipment is good, but the work is always sub par. Got a shellac manicure on Friday for $25. I pay $18-20 elsewhere. I got no massage she just put some Lotion in my arms, I asked several times if she'd trim my cuticles better and she would cut like one. My cuticles are all dry and the polish itself is bumpy. This place is by far one of the most affordable nail spas and they work well together and work quickly while paying attention the experience. They make sure you relax/enjoy the massages and approve of every nail as they go through. The don't make you feel guilty if you request for a touch up! The only reason I will go back is to have them fix my nails! I arrived at 4:45 pm yesterday (9/15) for a mani - pedi, was seated within 5 minutes. The ladies were nice enough, but of course they talked amongst themselves without conversing with me, the client. The first issue I have is the fact they cut me on several figures while filing and attending to my cuticles. Next, the nail polish was bubbled on almost every single finger. When I asked the gal to touch up the polish since it was bubbled and not even close to covering my entire nail, she did 1 brush stroke on one nail, and said it was good. I didn't get out of there until 615pm, and that was with my hands and feet being done at the same time. There was no shilac, no special design, just 1 color. This time I told them again, "I need you to be very gentle as I have arthritis in my hands. I also am just getting over an infection in this finger, so please be very careful." VIP nails. They definitely don't treat you very VIP. The actual pedicure I got was great. The deluxe. They seemed annoyed that i didn't want paraffin. But they give you a choice. It wasn't very busy in here, two other clients. The chairs are older and don't massage that well. What was really frustrating was that three of the four of workers talked the entire time. And loud. The older male spent the entire time I was there 1.5 hours on his phone while two other females joined in. Even when i said it's hard to relax when you guys are talking so much and loud they didn't care. I could tell the customers they were working on were frustrated with them talking so much and on their phones while doing their nails. So while the work was good, the place is run down, the employees are LOUD and they don't give a crap if they are disturbing you. I would suggest going elsewhere. I was really surprised to see some low ratings for this place. I've only been there once and plan on going back today. The one time I did go, I went with my two adult daughters. We all got pedicures and my girls manicures and I got pink and white nails. They did an amazing job on all of our feet. My girls both got shellac and one daughter tried to describe what she wanted and the tech did a couple of samples on her nail to make sure it was exactly what she wanted...two weeks later, they still look amazing (which is more than I can say about the other local place). My other daughter got french tips painted on and the tech suggested a design of lines on her nails, he did an absolutely amazing job! Would not recommend this place at all. So much for VIP. My friends and I went to have our nails done and in the middle of our appointment a lady walked in and asked if she needed to go else where or if she could get her nails done and she was told they could do them and after sitting there for over an hour because she took the other lady and made us just sit there and wait til she was done with the other lady. Then tater all that waiting the nails didn't even last 24 hrs my right hand 3 of them broke off due to lack of glue applied and 2 on my left hand. Then they refused to fix or return my money. They don't care about their customers what so ever. So much for have new customers. I would highly recommend avoiding this location completely. read more

I came here after a recommendation from someone else. Terrible experience. I got a shellac manicure and a regular pedicure. The pedicure was fine except the mask they put on my shins burned and when I had them take if off I was lectured about how I shouldn't shave before coming...never been an issue for me at other salons before. The rest of the pedicure went fine. The manicure is where it all went wrong. The woman was yelling across the salon (mind you it was completely empty) and one of the other workers obviously making fun of a boy who came in and asked to hang up a flyer. Then at the end I noticed how all my nails were basically glued to the skin below. I asked her to file them and she acted very incovenienced. Then she started to file bumps on top of the nail and so my dark maroon nails are all scratched. Got home and noticed another spot where the nail Polish was on my skin so I started to pick with it a little bit, off came an entire strip of nail polish. 70% of my nails have chipped off already and I got it done 30 minutes ago. Their pedicures are to die for, especially for the cost! I walked in today for my first visit ever (Saturday) without an appointment. My first impression - clean, nicely arranged, not too many tchotchkes (haha). They were very busy, but had a couple pedicure chairs open and immediately showed me to a chair to soak my feet while the finished others. The water was warm. I say this because at the other local salon the water was cold. The pedicure chair was very comfortable. It was clean and in good condition in comparison to other places I have been. The massage that it provided was nice. I am happy with the way my toes turned out. I also got a basic manicure. Total for the two services was $30 before tip. A bargain in my book! read more

Awful! I got a shellac manicure requesting only shellac brand products. They used a gelish clear coat anyway and pretended to not understand when I called them on it. 2 hours later I had 2 cracks in my shellac nail polish. Not happy. Within 3 days it was chipping off all my nails. I got a polish change on my toes at the same time. It chipped faster than my toes ever have. When I removed the polish at home it was extremely easy to remove as opposed to other salons I feel like I need to soak it off. There is definetly a level of quality lacking in the products.
