I don't usually write negative reviews but this place earned it. I walked in 5 minutes before my appointment and ended up waiting 30 minutes to be seen. As a gel manicure goes I was getting my cuticles trimmed and ended up getting nicked which led to my thumb profusely bleeding and the blood did eventually get cured into the gel. Very gross. Overall my experience was less than satisfactory. To top it all off 4 days later (today) I look down to see my gel nail has halfway peeled off. read more

I went to the same girl a few times trying to give her the benefit of the doubt. Gel manicures typically last 2 weeks, no chipping, they just grow out. 3 times now I've gone and each time they chip within 1-2 days. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. I'm out $90+ tips and my nails look awful. read more

Had an appt last Monday for Mani/Pedi. The woman that does my Pedi was out sick. I was able to get it rescheduled for Friday @ 2pm. The owners were away for the week & will be returning tomorrow. (I have known the owners for nearly 20 years, they are good people who have employed a bad apple) When I arrived for my appt @ 2:00 pm I advised the older man who was doing appts that I was here for more Pedi with Danielle who is excellent! He advised that Danile was not available as she was doing another Pedi & that, "Kathy", would be doing my pedi. Kathy is the older woman o. the 1st table when you walk in on the right. I noticed she was maybe 1/2 way through a solar mani & I asked when I would be done. The man said, "As soon as she is finished.". I was mildly annoyed but needed a pedi desperately and proceeded to sit down & wait. I received a work call & work texts, checked emails & tried to utilize my time while waiting. As I was on a work call Kathy barks @ me, "PICK YOUR COLOR!", I tell her Pompei Purple, she barks back, "NUMBER!", I say, "28", she says, "BRAND!", I say, "OPI", she then proceeds to tell me that they don't have that in gel. I tell her that is what is on my feet from 3 weeks ago. She is nasty & insists that they don't have it. I have to end my work call because of her yelling & back & forth. At this point I say whatever & just do my toes in the regular polish. I am totally in shock @ such unprofessional & low class behavior. I then ask the guy when the owners will be back. He states, "Monday", to which Kathy then barks @ me, "DO YOU WANNA COME THEN?!?!". I say, "No, this has already been rescheduled & I need it done today!". There was some back & forth btwn them In Vietnamese & then Elle the sweet girl in the back motions for me to do my pedi. She has my OPI gel color BTW & does a fantastic job! I pay & as I'm leaving I put the gel polish/OPI/#28 on Kathy's desk letting her know that they have my polish. She barks. "THANK YOU!", I say, "You're Welcome!". she then jumps up & cones over to me yelling, "Why are you so nasty & saying who do I think I am? Do I think my feet are made of gold, do you think we are all here to serve you & on & on....". She is low class trash & apparently their is something wrong with her! I told her that something is wrong with her & she clearly needs medication & should never work in a service industry! I am a long standing good client that will never set foot in that place again & good luck to the owners with employees like that! read more

I have been going to this salon since I moved here and have only found one woman that I enjoy getting my nails done by. Ellie is very pleasant and does an excellent job. However everyone else is not very nice. They will serve you in the order they want not who comes in first. I went today and the woman who did my nails and my friends nails (she got a full set I got an acrylic fill) took less time to do both our nails then it normally takes Ellie to do my nails alone on a regular day. I hate to post a bad review only because of Ellie. If you need to go here, ask for Ellie. read more

I took my granddaughter here as a birthday treat. On a recommendation from two relatives. To say that the lady that worked on my granddaughter was wonderful .I believe she was one of the owners. Unfortunately the woman who was working on me was less than professional worst manicure and pedicure I've ever had. Kept leaving to text and take phone calls from her husband who was texting her left me sitting there while she ate part of her lunch in the back. But after was all said and done . I had to take money from the ATM because if you use a credit card they charge you a $5 fee. When all was said and done for a nine-year-old little girl to get a pedicure and just her nails polished and a pedicure for me and gel polish on my nails it was $126.00 needless to say I will be returning to Susie's nails who I have gone to for years. If you want a great manicure and pedicure try there it's a small place but they're wonderful. read more

I used to always pick vip over any others to get my nails done. At this point i am done going here. They do not treat the employees well. The first time i wanted an airbrushed design after showing the owner the picture when i came in he said yeah no problem. After i got my nails done ready for the design my nail tech told him i was ready for him to do it, he gave any excuse not to. Then two months later for my wedding i told them i wanted airbrushing i even called and talked to joey he said it wouldn't be a problem. Two days before my wedding while getting my nails done he made it out to be an inconvenience. So one of the other techs did it for me. I dont know why they even post pictures of what nails they can do because if he doesnt feel like it.. guess what your not getting it. He is always in a bad mood. I used to recommend them to everyone now i will be doing the exact opposite. Its such a shame all the people who work there are good. I dont know why they stay. read more

I've gone here 2x for pedicure/gel manicure and the last time was only because everywhere else was booked and I waited too long to get them done. Started with a pedicure first, which they charge a ridiculous amount for... so I figured, hey, this is gonna be relaxing. It was over in less than 10 minutes. There was no leg/foot massage, no heel oil, no scrub etc. It was a completely different process/time/products than the last time I got a pedicure there. The place was completely empty but the woman was rushing to get me out. Then I got a french gel manicure. Again, the woman was rushing. 3/10 fingers looked like a legit job while the remaining 7 looked like my 6 year old neice painted them. They were uneven and the gel was all over my cuticles/sealed over the top of my finger. BURNED LIKE HELL IN The UV LIGHT. Another lady walked in who had an appointment and the tech just left me there to start her nails. No hand massage, no lotion, no cuticle push back...NOTHING. There were a ton of bubbles under the gel which caused them to peel off 2 days later. The first gel manicure I got there lasted 4 days. I'm used to at least 2 weeks with no chip/peel so something is seriously wrong with how this place does them! This place plain sucks, which is a shame because they're close by. I absolutely do not mind the extra 5 minute drive into Franklin to find a new place. Horrible customer service, horrible LAZY technicians and they all have different standards for the same jobs. read more

One of the worst salons I've ever been to. They act like they're a high-end nail salon in New York City, yet their prices and work don't match their branding. I'm from Vernon, but I would prefer probably any of the other local salons over this one. I've been to this salon twice. The first time I went I stood by the receptionist's desk for about 10 minutes waiting to be noticed by the receptionist. He flat out ignored me, and I could tell they were all complete snobs from how they were acting. All I wanted to know was how long the wait would be. It was incredibly rude and I didn't want to wait any longer, so I left. I'm sorry, but how do you expect to keep and maintain customers when your ignoring them? The second time I came to this salon was last week to get my nails done before the holidays. The ONLY reason I went to this salon is because my friend moved to Sussex and lives nearby, otherwise I wouldn't have stepped foot in here following my first attempt to get my nails done here. I was off from work this week, otherwise I would have went to my normal nail salon by my office in Florham Park. I'm not sure what you all are used to paying for a gel fill, but $50 is absolutely absurd to me. It was $40 for the fill, $10 for paint... which I've personally never heard of an extra charge for the paint like of course I need paint on the nails???, and then tip on top of that. The most I've ever paid total for a gel fill was $40 including tip, and it was at a very nice salon in Wayne... not Sussex county. I normally pay $25 for a fill and at most $30-$35 with tip. It's not like a got a whole new set on. You can go to a much nicer salon in Bergen, Morris, or Passaic counties for way less, just saying. So not only did I not enjoy the salon's atmosphere and price, the woman doing my nails did not listen to me and gave me the wrong shape nails, and my color that I was forced to pay that extra $10 for chipped immediately when I got home, and again the following day. I personally wouldn't recommend this salon. read more

LOVE the way they do nails and eye brows. I usually see Joey for my nails and Maria for my eyebrows. They have sooo many different polishes, gels and acrylics. The place is very clean, staff is very nice and my nails can last a month before I have to refill. Saves money for me as opposed to every two weeks! Downfall? They don't accept cards but they do have an atm there. I wouldn't change a thing! read more

i've been going here for years but ever since vernon nails opened..this place isn't so great anymore. there are some nail techs there that do a fantastic job. if i have to go there i ask for El of Tau [taw] idk how to spell her name. everytime i go in though and i go to joey or maria, they always ask me where i got my nails done prior. i find it rude because they always criticize other nail salons. but otherwise i like the salon and it's very relaxing. i give it a 5/10 read more

First the negative very few people speak english so communicating can be challenging. Strong chemical oder as the place has poor ventilation. They use cheap nail polish so it chips and peals very quickly. On the positive wait times are short and people are kind and helpful. read more

I've been to this salon numerous times. Most of the time it is for the convenience factor since there aren't a lot of nail salons in the area. I went in yesterday to have my eyebrows waxed. I was a little upset by the fact that no paper or paper towels were laid down on the table where I placed my head. This grossed me out a little bit to be honest considering there was old wax and hair on the table. The staff is rude and insist on finding out where you got a manicure last, just so they can bash other salons. I paid 30 dollars (not even including the tip) for gel manicure that started peeling the very next day. The ONLY REASON this place survives is because it is basically the only game in town as far as an affordable, relatively clean nail salon. People either don't want to drive a little more to a better salon or they don't want to pay higher prices at a more posh salon. I also think a lot has to do with the culture of the area where people don't want to travel "down below." Trust me, go into Morris County and you will pay the same prices and receive much better service with a lot of nice extras likes neck massages because they are a dime a dozen and are all competing with each other. The guy who runs this place knows he has no competition and knows people will keep coming back regardless of having to wait over an hour WITH an appointment and providing no warmth or extras with customer service. Check their reviews on Facebook as they are more detailed than on here. STOP FEEDING THIS TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE MACHINE!! You deserve better so drive an extra 10-30 minutes and go to a better place. read more

First of all ELLE is one of the BEST manicurists I've ever had. She takes great pride and has exquisite talent when it comes to naiIs. Any one person who has a negative comment about her work below, probably left without mentioning it. And which to say does not realize that a little nick is not "butchering" and it happens. As an accomplished hairstylist near th I would know! But calling a little nick "butchering" not even taking into consideration the wonderful job ELLE actually did is absolutely APPALLING! I love VIP NAILS TOO, and I would recommend it to anyone and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND ELLE! She is very sweet, personable, talented and disregard the remarks, because that woman probably brought it upon her self to get nicked (not paying attention, texting, on phone, moving hands the wrong way, etc.) People, it takes two! Your attention, as well as your manicurists in order to make sure incidents such as nicks and cuts DO NOT OCCUR. Ultimately, unless you are a child and whine about one or two little pricks due to your manicurist not having your full cooperation and attention of your hands, then VIP NAILS TOO is a wonderful place to get your nails done! I have never had a communication problem here, even though most of the employees do speak another language as well as english. I also have never smelled any chemical odor during my many visits. Everyone is always friendly and accommodating. My polish and acrylics stay fresh far longer than I would expect. do not go here! made an appointment for pedicure and gel fill. showed up on time. got my pedicure done and 20 min later i was under the dryer and she said they would be with me soon. the girl that did my pedicure started someone else's nails and I was STILL sitting there 2:00 (an HOUR after my appt time) waiting for them to start my nails. After the 3RD person walked in the door and got helped right away for nails, i got up and told him I was done waiting. He was trying to make me stay but i told him I waited long enough and he was extremely unprofessional! I paid for my pedicure (the girl did a great job and it wasnt her fault) and walked out.
