A few comments about my experience: - Mark is very experienced and knowledgeable. To quote me, he walked through my home and we talked about each area -- he pointed out issues and opportunities and we agreed together. It was great. - Mark communicated really well and made sure the job didn't impact my family. We have a 1.5 yr old and it's hard to be out of the house overnight and through the day, especially with the summer heat. They got the entire job done in two days. A total of 6 guys, all working hard to make sure we had our home back as quickly as possible. - His team was well organized and clean -- the house was prepped and covered to avoid ruining any furniture. I tried to find a mistake and I couldn't! They did a flawless job. I was impressed. - Price was very fair for the quality VIP Painting provided. Not the cheapest, and definitely not the most expensive. But, the quality of work and my experience with Mark and his team was well worth what I paid. STILL finding sloppy work from VIP painting. It seems they receive high ratings from most of their jobs. I wonder how many ratings are not verified. This guy promises the moon and delivers the desert. I have paint chips falling on the flooring. The only thing I can think of is they watered down the paint to make it go further. They ruined the carpeting in the master bathroom bath. It was to be protected. Somebody didn't pass the message. I now have paint overspray on the carpet. Shouldn't I be livid? Just a note, the owner has never stepped up to make things right. I feel I'm the victim of a scam job. Do not use these guys. They are not what they portray themselves to be. read more

VIP is the perfect name for this company as that is exactly the kind of experience you'll receive. Mark, the owner and operator of this small business was someone I came across on Yelp and discovered his business card at a local store within a day. It was a sign that I needed to give him a call, and it was perfectly timed with a vacancy at my rental property. The house had been used and abused by one tenant after another for year and was in desperate need of a facelift. Mark was early when I arrived to meet him and we proceeded to walk through the property for over an hour. We talked about every aspect in every room, from whether the crown moulding needed caulking to patching up minor blemishes. I was so impressed with the interior inspection that I asked him to paint the exterior as well. It took a while to coordinate the process because I was balancing it with the schedule of a contractor who was working simultaneously, but once they got started the job went fast. They had the whole place painted inside and out without a mistake within three days. Mark and his crew painted the exterior of our home. We are getting ready to list it on the market and they did an incredible job of making it look it's best! Our home is old (built in the 50s) and wasn't well cared for before us so there was some stucco repair work and considerable caulking that had to be done as well. They did an excellent job and it was difficult to find where they had had to do repair work. The crew was polite and professional and finished quickly. They even were able to come and start the job several days early so they finished before their original start day! Customer service was top notch. When Mark came to give us a bid, he was hinesy and realistic. He even pointed out some stylistic things that helped us choose a good color for our house and our neighborhood. Contacted Mark to come out to our new house in Folsom for a bid on interior paint and removal of popcorn ceilings. He was aware we were shopping around for both. First off he didn't show up at the time we scheduled. When I contacted him he said his schedule got away from him and tried to reschedule for later in the day. Since I was already at the house disturbing my tenants I explained I couldn't just hang out all day. He did meet me about an hour and a half after our original appointment. He said he'd get me a number in a couple days, it took 5. His paint quote was about 2.5-3 times higher than all of our other quotes. However, his popcorn ceiling quote was much less. When we told him we would like to schedule him to do the ceilings, he said he wouldn't do just the ceilings, that it wasn't worth his time. I'm not sure why he would bid a job he's not willing to do. I felt like this whole interaction was unprofessional, disappointing and a waste of time. read more

I recently moved into a condo in mid-town. It was occupied before, so the walls needed a fresh coat of paint. The sales team at my building recommended VIP Painting. I contacted Mark and asked if he could start the job the next week. We discussed the details of the job, I chose paint colors and he purchased the paint. He and his crew started work the day I closed on the property. Once I saw the color I had chosen on the wall, I realized it was a mistake. I picked a different color and Mark purchased that and repainted that wall. The other colors were great, and the entire job went smoothly. Mark came to inspect the work after his other workers finished. He was much more demanding about details than I was. I'm somewhat of a perfectionist, but his standards are even higher. In spite of my insistence that I was perfectly satisfied with the job, Mark wanted the painters to return to touch-up a couple details. I was more than pleased with the job at first, now I was thrilled. He really went above and beyond fixing minor details that I never noticed. I have another project to complete which will require more touch-up painting after the other contractors leave. I will call VIP to paint again. read more
