For this to be a medical building it sure is dirty the lobby is empty and no staff came out to even clean it and sanitize the area.

Bonus: over-engineered pinkie "cast" looks like Keith Haring's take on "Chubby Tron cosplayer wrestling sheep "

I cut off the entire tip of my pinkie with a chef's knife so it was literally hinged off like a trapdoor. Showed up there about 7pm on a Friday night. Still had to fill out long tedious invasive paperwork but that's true of all American ER or urgent care places any time you're conscious. Desk staff attentive, nurse was friendly and professional and the doctor came almost immediately after my vitals and went straight to sewing it back on. I was in an out in less than 40 minutes and while the pinkie will probably not recover full sensation thanks to nerve damage I don't need it for anything except looking posh while drinking Earl Gray. Doctor also treated me like an adult and didn't condescend or patronize me or critique my knifework. This is the fifth or sixth major finger chop I've had (my fingerprints no longer work at biosecurity) and this was by far the most efficient experience. I may append this review when the inevitable bullsh*t appears on my insurance bill- but again, that's American healthcare regardless of business. It's also conveniently located next to the 99cent store which was a cavalcade of flimsy treasures.

I called and talked to the ladies in charge of hiring Transporters at the time just to introduce myself and let them know I was interested in working there once I moved. They were rude to me on the phone from day one. Once I moved {Sept 2024) I set up an interview. It went well. NEVER heard from them again AT ALL. They never returned my call. HR never did either. THEN I set up an interview with the kitchen Supervisors. Had a great interview. They even asked me about why I wasnt pursuing the Patient Transport and I told them that they never got back to me, They said OMG...WE wont do that to you. GUESS WHAT? They never got back to me either. I talked to my old boss and he said that they never even contacted him for a reference. My point IS that if you have a great interview with Eisenhower and they do not give you the time of day even if you have years of experience...dont take it personally. They obviously have their own agendas and have no idea what the definition of professionalism means. Even in HR.

He's the…read morereason I remained a DOHC patient for years, dating back to his transition from Bayshire Medical to Desert Oasis. This review, however, is not about his care--it's about the staggering dysfunction of the office and the broader Desert Oasis Medical organization. I called to schedule my annual physical and was told the next available appointment that worked with my schedule was four months out. Not ideal, but I accepted it and planned accordingly. A week before the appointment, the office called to request a full blood panel in advance--perfectly reasonable. I went in promptly and completed the labs as instructed. Less than 48 hours before my appointment, I received a call informing me that Desert Oasis had decided to stop accepting my UnitedHealthcare insurance plan. After keeping me on the schedule for four months--and after directing me to complete pre-appointment lab work--they chose that moment to effectively drop me from care. What made this worse was the complete lack of professionalism in how it was handled. The staff member I spoke with showed no empathy, offered no solutions, and made no effort to retain me as a patient. There was no discussion of interim options, no offer to proceed on a cash basis, nothing. Just a flat, indifferent dismissal. I contacted UnitedHealthcare, who confirmed that Dr. Corzano is in-network under my plan. When I relayed this back to the office, I was again told--without explanation or curiosity--that the issue was on the insurer's end and that I was simply no longer accepted. Again, no attempt to resolve, clarify, or assist. It gets worse. I later learned that Desert Oasis is "grandfathering" certain patients with the exact same UnitedHealthcare plan--yet for reasons no one could explain, I was excluded. Despite being a long-standing patient, I was told I don't visit often enough. Apparently, maintaining good health is now grounds for dismissal. After waiting four months, completing requested lab work, and acting in good faith at every step, I'm left scrambling to piece together continuity of care because of an opaque and arbitrarily enforced policy. This isn't just poor administration--it's a fundamental failure of patient management and basic professional responsibility. Desert Oasis Medical has turned what should be routine preventive care into a bureaucratic mess. It's difficult not to view this as a stark example of the priorities of a for-profit medical system--where patient relationships and continuity of care are secondary to opaque policies and indifferent administration

The doctors did not seem to have much interest in the medications that my husband had been prescribed by his Cedars Sinai doctors, nor did they listen carefully to me when I tried to share his medical history, including actual reports from doctors that I accessed from my Cedars Sinai app. I asked repeatedly about him receiving his meds and was never given a good reason why they were being withheld. I also learned that the Medical Center does not subscribe to EPIC - an electronic health record platform in the US that allows for medical records from one hospital to be accessed by another. This is significant in that they treat patients without having access to important medical history. I am still not certain that the 'abscess' that they drained wasn't a cyst that his Cedars doctor had determined to be benign. I showed one of the doctors the MRI results from April of this year, but another doctor determined that the 'abscess' needed to be drained. We waited 4 days for the MRI to be completed. During his 10-day stay, my husband was in three different rooms. The last night, he was placed in a room with three other patients and a shared restroom that he refused to use. We have Medicare and Blue Shield insurance. I was shocked to find him in that shared room on the morning that he was finally discharged. The bottom line is this - my husband gained 21 pounds during his 10-day stay. Only 2 times did someone come and get him out of bed to walk. His legs are so full of fluid that he now needs a walker to get around. The fluid buildup is due to a lack of the correct dosage of diuretics. It will take us weeks to get rid of the fluid. Was anyone keeping track of his weight? If so, why didn't they make the proper adjustments? Why didn't someone listen to my pleas for more meds to address the fluid buildup? To top it all off, my husband has scabs all over his arms and a huge gash on his head that no one can explain. What a horrific experience.

It seemed like a great alternative to sitting in a waiting room for hours or trying to time your visit to Eisenhower Urgent Care during a slower period. Unfortunately, the experience has gone steadily downhill since my first visit. The bedside manner of many of the NPs and PAs is disappointing. You get about five minutes of their time, and it often feels like they aren't interested in truly listening to your concerns. Instead, they seem eager to fit you into a predetermined diagnosis. If you don't present with one specific symptom, they quickly dismiss the possibility of what you think might be wrong--even though people can experience the same illness in very different ways. The medical assistants haven't been much better in my experience. During my most recent visit, the MA smelled strongly of cigarette smoke and barely spoke to me. I'll never understand why some people choose careers that require working closely with patients when they seem to have little interest in interacting with people. Unfortunately, this hasn't been limited to just one office. The La Quinta location has been just as disappointing. Across both locations, the staff often come across as though they'd rather be anywhere else than at work. Trust me--we don't want to be there either. Patients aren't visiting urgent care for fun; we're there because we're sick, worried, or uncomfortable. The least we can expect is to be listened to and treated with a basic level of care and empathy. If you have a choice, I would recommend Eisenhower Urgent Care instead. In my experience, their staff takes the time to listen, treat patients with respect, and make sure concerns aren't simply brushed aside.
