I went here a week ago and it was fine, Doc & nurse were nice, I got some freebie ointment and gauze. The three stars are for them. I got prescribed preventative antibiotics that day for a foot injury and I called again today to ask if I needed a refill. First person I spoke with on the phone claimed i would have to speak to the same doctor as before in order to refill the prescription. Ok, is he in or when will he be in? They do not know when he will be in and they do not have a schedule for doctors. I'm sure they must have a schedule because it's one thing to not give out a doctor's schedule, but saying you don't have a schedule for doctors at all is just crazy. So I asked for someone else who might know the schedule and her name is Destiny. She refused to tell me when he works next, and contradicted the earlier employee and said it didn't matter if it was the same doctor or not because regardless I would have to come in, pay the full amount, wait 2 hours, be seen, and maybe then get antibiotics. Destiny also said my foot wasn't getting better so I should want to come in anyway - something I didn't even say. I just said it wasn't fully healed. Destiny was so flippant as she was contradicting the earlier employee, I'm not really sure if I believe her despite her being a manager. It's the closest urgent care to me, but if employees are willing to be rude after presenting you incorrect info - it makes you wonder what else they are potentially lying about. read more

This experience left me frustrated not only as a patient, but as someone watching what healthcare has become for everyday people. I came in because I was concerned about worsening sinus symptoms after already trying over-the-counter treatments at home. I wasn't looking for someone to simply repeat information I already had. I was looking for an actual evaluation, questions about my symptoms, and a clear explanation of the next steps. Instead, I left feeling like my concerns were not fully explored and like I received the bare minimum. This is bigger than one provider or one urgent care. VIP Urgent Care is terrible! My daughter broke her foot in 3 places and could not put any weight on it. The doctor told her she would need surgery and not put any weight on it. While waiting for this diagnosis and getting x-rays she needed to change rooms from the Exam room to the x-ray room and the nurse would not give any assistance and was very rude when she was asked to help. After the diagnosis and being told not to put any weight on the foot they still would not give her assistance to the lobby and then to the car, and they were even being ruder than before. The overall attitude of the staff was unfriendly and then some were very rude and unhelpful. read more

I really did not want to come in after falling and landing on my wrist. I was in and out after 1.5 hours. Everyone was kind, helpful, and professional. It was so quick from check in until X-rays. maybe 35 minutes. X-ray tech James was gentle and fast and checked in to make sure I was never in too much pain. They sent the imaging for further results and give me a soft cast in the meantime, which was also done quickly. It made everything so easy and I really appreciate everyone's hard work! If I could give this place no stars I would. From the minute I walked in the front door I was greeted, if that's what you want to call it, by a female receptionist that clearly wanted to do anything else except what she was there to do. She was short with me and took no shame talking about me to the other receptionist behind the counter when I was filling out my paperwork. Making completely inappropriate and wildly unprofessional comments, especially for being at work. Once I was called back to the back, I report that the Inflammation I was experiencing was coming from my groin area, the nurse immediately gave me a urine sample cup and pointed me to the restroom. All this was fine, until I heard the nurse and the receptionist making more inappropriate comments. Once I left the restroom; and went into my exam room, the nurse took my vitals asked more about the source of pain and then left after handing me a beer sheet and told me to take off my pants and underwear and cover up with the sheet. Once the physician came in, the nurse followed her in. After a few questions, physician asked to see my groin area to examine the swelling. After I revealed myself to the two females, the nurse promptly left without saying an anything to the doctor or to myself. This was unbelievably inappropriate, after the comments made after I was taken back and now this kind of behavior, my skin was crawling I was so disgusted! It was like she came into the room, not to shadow the doctor, which would have been acceptable. However, the nurse came into the exam room to see my penis, and then promptly left the exam room to go gossip about it with the rest of the unbelievably unprofessional office staff. I've never been more furious in a doctor's office in my life. The doctor prescribed me medicine for inflammation but that was it. Once I was given my discharge papers by a different nurse, everyone could tell I was furious. Yet not one person tried to make this situation right. I stormed out of the office so embarrassed for going to a medical office where I was going to be so exploited and objectified, I was so unfathomably angry that not a single person tried to make this right, even making comments while I was leaving to amplify my already steaming composure. I will never go back to this place again. I hope nobody ever has to endure the experience that I had here. All I wanted was to get help, and what I got was me being made a mockery by the staff at VIP Urgent Care in Palm Springs. read more

Starting my new job TWO WEEKS LATE because of their poor communication. I visited the Palm Springs location for a pre-employment test. This team was dismissive at best. When I spoke to them on the phone, two different people, they talked to me like I was a naughty child and or plain stupid. They have a sever lack of communication skills which has caused a delay in test results and I am starting my new job two weeks late because of this. This is inexcusable. A simple shift their level of respect for their patients and two communicative sentences would have solved the issue; there would not have even been an issue in the first place. I called them three times and left a detailed message asking for clarification on the process. Had they bothered to call me back there would have been no issue. But they did not. My recruiter filled me in on the process but by then it was too late and I have to go back and do the process again. When I called and explained what had happened I was put on hold for "a second". After 14 minutes the system booted me. I called back and was talked to like a child who had misbehaved. I have other options for redoing the test, which I shall make use of. I hope to never return to this location. read more

10/10 dr z and Lizabeth were really exceptional at making me feeling comfortable. I broke my acrylic nail and was missing my fingernail and was super nervous and scared they were patient calm and gave me a few options to choose from to fix the problem. They need a raise for how caring and nurturing they were. I almost fainted because of the shot and they gave me water the nurse held my hand I wish Dr Z was my main doctor. I went to this Urgent Care the other night at about 7.30:. the doctor diagnosed a urinary infection and gave me 6 Cipro. this did not help and so I went back to my Primary Care Physician. apparently Urgent Care made the wrong diagnosis and gave me the wrong drug. they told me they had sent a sample to Labcorp but by today there was no record of it. my PCP made an internal examination and diagnosed Prostatitis with a different drug for 30,days. and sent me for a set of bloods. my recommendation is not to use VIP urgent Care read more

Go anywhere else for medical care. All this clinic will do is take your money, and leave you feeling helpless. I came in very sick, and Dr. Kasow had some of the worst bedside manner I've personally experienced from a doctor. He did not examine me, nor did he ask me any questions about my symptoms. He simply just repeated what I had written down I was here for on the paperwork I filled out in the waiting room, and then just said "it will resolve in a few days" and walked out before I could say or ask anything else. Well, it did not resolve in a few days and I had to pay to go to a different urgent care where I was properly treated. I cut off the entire tip of my pinkie with a chef's knife so it was literally hinged off like a trapdoor. Showed up there about 7pm on a Friday night. Still had to fill out long tedious invasive paperwork but that's true of all American ER or urgent care places any time you're conscious. Desk staff attentive, nurse was friendly and professional and the doctor came almost immediately after my vitals and went straight to sewing it back on. I was in an out in less than 40 minutes and while the pinkie will probably not recover full sensation thanks to nerve damage I don't need it for anything except looking posh while drinking Earl Gray. Doctor also treated me like an adult and didn't condescend or patronize me or critique my knifework. This is the fifth or sixth major finger chop I've had (my fingerprints no longer work at biosecurity) and this was by far the most efficient experience. I may append this review when the inevitable bullsh*t appears on my insurance bill- but again, that's American healthcare regardless of business. So I needed an urgent care relatively close to my work and this was one of the few with decent ratings. The first time I came here, I barely had to wait to see a doctor or PA (not sure what they were) but the nurses and doctor person were very friendly. The second time I had a bit of a wait, still, the staff was friendly! I didn't ask to see if they could send the prescriptions to the pharmacy instead of writing it out so I'm not sure if they just don't do that. The facility was clean. Where can I start. Brought my 3 year old in because she's had fever for three days Straight. " doctor " tells me it's probably viral and she can have a fever for up to two weeks. I came here to get help after passing out from heat exhaustion. I was told by the medics where I passed out that I needed IV fluids at any urgent care. I called here in advance to make sure they had the capability, and they said they did. Instead, they took my urine, only looked at it, and informed me that they don't have the ability to do IV fluids there and to go home and drink pedialyte or Gatorade. Basically do exactly what I'm doing already. Meanwhile, I'm STILL dizzy, exhausted and disoriented. Thanks for nothing. Good to see that medical degree is being used well. read more

Accompanied my mom today and we had the most terrible interaction with the front desk girl Erika. Walked up to the window and was not acknowledged by her. It's an urgent care, not an E.R. but they will go above & beyond to do what they can for you. Dr. Mardonis is very professional & a great physician. I have tremendous respect for him as I believe him to be compassionate & caring, but he's also got strict guidelines to abide by & in some cases there's only so much he can do. He has guided me in the right direction & I appreciate the time he takes in giving me advice (that is a privilege as I trust in his expertise) the front & back office pull together & make a great team. Usually when I go in I'm sick or in pain so I apologize if I don't always express my gratitude but to have this place so close to home when I no longer have a vehicle, is a blessing in itself & I'll continue to refer my own clients/friends/family as best I can. I spoke with the director a couple of times when I had an issue with an unreasonable pharmacist & the guy was a godsend. He took the time to listen instead of jumping to conclusions and was absolutely amazing. I could tell he really cares about patients & that means a lot to me. Which is why I try to be patient as there are times when they get an unexpected amount of people all at once and that must be challenging. This place has really changed. I sawDR. Kasow who was condescending, talked at me, and did not attempt to understand the physical health issues I was having. I presented with 3 different concurrent health problems and he pretty much would only deal with one of them. Very much as the experience of "I am the white dr who knows everything and I don't even need to talk to you about yours." I very much felt judged and that he did jut really care about my health. Watch for "Dr. Mark Kasow". How is this place considered a medical facility. I got there for a sciatica that I have act up about every 6 months. My primary care MD knows this prescribes a steroid pack, muscle relaxer and a pain killer. All is better. The nurse with the big black earrings in his ears was as rude, deeming and unprofessional as one could believe. Then, walks in "Dr". Mark Kasow. He saw I had y sciatica leg stretched out and my other leg sitting normal. He told me to stretch my other leg. In two seconds he said, oh its swollen. ITS NOT swollen. Wait times are usually less then a hour for my visits. With the current Flu conditions might be longer. This medical facility is great for most minor medical issues. The staff is *always* friendly & wonderful to me when I come in. They are attentive but low key, calm and professional. The cherry on TOP is the doctor himself, Dr. Mardones is affable, upbeat, professional with a very down-home, warm & fuzzy demeanor. He is right to the issue, doesn't waste any time and gets me out and on the road to recovery quickly. I find the quality of care equal to or better than DOHC Urgent Care and I am very pleased that I have Dr. Mardones to turn to in times of sickness.
