The location is visible off Ferrell Parkway in a strip. The store is on the corner of the building. Parking is plentiful and lit clean. This was delivery day so the store had some nice allocated bottles of bourbon. Boxes were on the floor as they rushed product up the best they could. It appeared they were short staffed, who isn't these days. I found what I was looking for in a Knob Creek 12 year and a EH Taylor Small Batch. The manager checked me out and was friendly. She discussed a few things going on with Virginia ABC that was helpful. This is not a regular, but recommend and would happily return.

I was there yesterday , June 19th. It was 6:50 PM, 10 minutes before closing. There was a short…read moreolder guy named Mickey monitoring the door, making sure that everyone was wearing a mask. During the 10 minutes I was in the store I watched this man be very disrespectful to the employees and customers. He was telling the employees to "Just shut up and do what I say." I must've heard him tell the two guys working the registers to "shut up" at least five times.... they weren't even saying anything in the first place! He was also just shouting orders at the customers entering the store. The store was busy because it was 10 minutes before they closed so Mickey was trying to get everyone out of the store so he could close up. Around 6:55 he told the 2 men working the registers , as well as the 4 or 5 people waiting outside that they would be the last customers of the day. A younger black woman that was waiting outside didn't have a mask, so he told her that she couldn't come in. At 6:58 - About 3 minutes after he stated that there would be no other customers, a middle aged white man approached the door and said "All I need is 1 bottle of Jack Daniels" and pretty much begged to be let it in. **THIS GUY DID NOT HAVE A MASK AND MICKEY LET HIM RIGHT IN- NO QUESTIONS ASKED.** As the man entered the store, the younger black woman that Mickey denied entry to made a comment about how she was not let it because she didn't have a mask - just 3 minutes earlier. Mickey reluctantly let her in the store. She told him that what he did was not fair. I agree with her. It seemed blatantly racist. All of the customers in the store also agreed. Once the other customer started to chime in , Mickey started to say , "Oh, here we go again...." That guy literally didn't see anything wrong with what he did. This is ridiculous and needs to be addressed immediately.

It's a busy strip with nearby Chick Fil A. Surface parking is adequate. I really like the newer renovated ABC's and this one is not a disappointment. It's a large store with great amount of inventory. The bourbon section is adequate, but nothing mind blowing. A sales associate was stocking on my last visit and offered help. That elevates them for sure to above par. The store was clean and organized. I found a Sazreac Rye and checked out. I'm sure I will return.

Located in the Providence Square Shopping Center in Kempsville. The store is West side of the strip with excellent signage. The center is updated and has plenty of parking. No debris in the area or upon walk up. My arrival was just before noon and there was a line. Any bourbon hunter knows what this means. It's Monday truck day and some hard to find bottles are ready to be pillaged. I learned it was STAGG Jr. today which is rare. The store was clean and organized. All of the new stock was on shelves. The line was orderly and when opened precisely at 12 PM customers made their way to a box of 12 STAGG Jr. I got the next to last one. Price retail is just under $60. However secondary market hundreds. This was a great day for an elusive bourbon. Checkout was socially distanced with the staff protected by plexiglass. No issues with my gift card transaction. The clerk was friendly and knowledgeable. Another staff opened the door for my exit. This will not be a regular store with distance from my home. However if they have certain stock I cannot find elsewhere I have no issues visiting them again. I created a collection of area ABC stores that users may find helpful.

Pouring for Neighbors Belgian Tripel 9.8% ABV... If I could only drink one beer here, thus would be the one. Not for the ABV, but for the flavor. It is quite good. Faculty Party Eggnog Cream Ale 7.8% ABV... more like a pumpkin spiced cream ale, it was good and warmed me up like hot cocoa Creme Brulee Stout 8.5% ABV... the brewer Chris "Topher" has a great palette, this is a really great stout Hibernian Rua Irish Red 7.4% ABV... OH WOW, so very smooth, slightly boozy, the Nitro makes the difference TT Bockbock smoked double bock 6 5% ABV... So I had this closer to the end of my visit, and honestly this is very well balanced beer. Almost, too perfect So, I tried the Seltzer here and it was really quite good. I typically don't like Seltzer, but I like apples and the flavor profile was exceptional. If you are visiting Virgina Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake or Portsmouth, you should probably make this a stop. Because if you don't, you are probably missing something EXTRA SPECIAL.

They are only open Friday 4-7, then Saturday and Sunday from noon to 7. So be mindful of that before driving all the way down to the beach. I wish they were open during the weekday, would be nice little after work hangout spot to catch a flight or two. The flights are $8 each and you get to choose 4 options. You can't beat that. I usually get two flights making my total $16 and I leave with a nice buzz. The customer service is really good. Our bartender carried on a conversation with us and kept us entertained. She's engaged and I'd like to wish her a happy wedding day. Over all I will continue to visit this spot, when open b/c I love how low key it is. Please note major construction going on currently around the distillery so may have to take a detour to get to them.

The lady working there was pretty nice and personable and the place was very clean. The flight includes 9 different flavors and you are able to choose 4 flavors for the tasting. My friend and I ordered our flights and enjoyed our tastings. Some we enjoyed more than others but it was still a good time and the drinks were very strong. My favorite was the Watermelon Ghost Margarita, which was made with fresh, watermelon juice and tequila with smoked ghost pepper. While at the Distillery, you can purchase bottles to take home or simply order a cocktail to enjoy. If you're near the Oceanfront, grab some friends and definitely stop in.
