I headed here right after work to have some liquids before heading to the Yelp Elite event nearby. Sophia and I have traveled to the area a few times but never stopped here due to other plans. Being a boba tea fan, this always caught my attention. And reviews online have been very positive. Let's see if the visit was worth it. The staff greeted me once I walked inside. No foot traffic at all. Inside, the decor was really nice and well kept. Unfortunately, I didn't able to take pictures of artwork, but if you're a fan of anime, you're in the right place. Very cool indeed. I placed my order via the tablet at the counter with no issues. My choice was a large Strawberry Yogurt with strawberry heart jelly with 50% ice. Pretty good stuff. I assume it was set at 50% sugar (on the tablet, you have an option of 0% or 100% which I didn't select), but it did taste a bit on the sweet side. Nonetheless, my blood sugar was good hours later so no harm done. I've had heart jelly in previous drinks before and it worked well in this one too. Great stuff. I stopped by here the other day for a boba tea, and discovered they also had a basque cake. I've wanted to try one so I inquired about the ingredients beforehand. I stopped by Tapioca Go to get a Lychee Green Tea one day and let my boyfriend take a sip. He enjoyed it so much that after we got to his house, we went back to get himself his own drink and another for myself! Ever since then, it's been our go-to boba shop whenever we're in Chesapeake. I finally tried the Volcannno from Tapioca Go and oh my gosh it was everything!! The brown sugar boba at the bottom was warm and soooo soft, and it made the whole drink extra creamy and dreamy. I didn't even have to ask for less ice, they just got it perfect. The flavor was rich but not too sweet, and the pearls were soft and chewy in the best way. Honestly, it was kind of magical how the warm boba mixed with the cold milk and sweet cream on top... total texture heaven. I should've ordered two because I was lowkey sad when it was gone. Definitely the best boba place in the tri-city area (that I've been to so far). I get the same thing everywhere I go; taro with tapioca boba. The drink my husband gets here is always delicious as well! My only qualm are the somber faces that you continuously get from behind the counter. I have had better boba tea unfortunately. I'm a HUGE fan of boba tea. And I have to try it everywhere I go. I had high hopes for my drink and was disappointed. I got the TG Volcannno. I liked the nuts. But the flavor fell short for me. It tasted like just milk with a little bit of brown sugar. The staff is great, their loyalty program is generous and they have multiple ways to order and pay if you want to be in and out or try to go incognito when it's your 5th time in a week showing up like me Their brown sugar series is delish, their house tea (decaf!!! Which is what I live for) is unique and so tasty, and my kids are now even hooked on boba so it's not even just my treat anymore. I went to Tapioca Go in search of some good boba teas to quench my thirst. Upon entry, I was promptly greeted. I told the girl it was my first time and she handed me a menu and suggested I check out the poster board with all the fan favorites (see pics). I'm am pretty old school when it comes to Boba or Bubble Tea (tomato/tomatoe). I remember when bubble teas were so basic with just teas and milk teas with just the tapioca pearls. I get overwhelmed now with all the teas, milks, froths/snow creams (even smoothies, like what? How is that a tea?) and even the types of bubbles and jellies! I was getting order stress with too many options, so I decided to go for a fruity tea and a milky one. Passionfruit Green Tea with mango star jellies and popping peach pearls - I was initially going to go with Mango Green Tea but the girl suggested going with the Passionfruit Green Tea so I wouldn't get such an intensity of the mango, not that there is anything wrong with that being a mango lover. We were getting lunch together at a place nearby and I really wanted some boba. I opened my handy dandy Yelp app and found this store right around the corner. I went with the honeydew milk tea with crystal boba. The drink was okay, it wasn't terrible, but instead of a strong honeydew flavor, the entire drink tasted florally. Some sips it felt as if I sprayed my grandmother's perfume in my mouth. Not sure if it was the tea itself or the crystal boba. The boba itself were tiny little balls and they were incredible firm. Not soft like I expected. My husband got a normal black milk tea and his was quite enjoyable. They did take the wrong name down the first day, but we liked how they made the experience a little more personal by asking for our names. We came back the next day day and I asked about the honeydew, and they remade one for me and gave me a sample cup to try. It tasted the same. I don't know if it's because of the Jasmine tea they use and I'm more acclimated to black tea, but I couldn't force myself to drink it. To this day, I have never found any boba place that makes Wintermelon Milk Tea like tapioca go. This place makes the best drinks, I've never been disappointed. I'm super picky when it comes to my boba, so for me to find a place I love is rare. I've been going here since 7th grade and my drink order has always been WINTERMELON Milk Tea with Peach Boba (highly recommend trying), and it is just a chef's kiss. This is one of our regular spots we stop by in Chesapeake. They have consistently good tea and I believe I would enjoy most of their menu. They do a brown sugar series, but it is only specific days after 2PM. I do recommend trying them at least once. The staff are always very friendly and accommodating for our orders. We usually get a honeydew milk tea, but it normally comes with jasmine tea. We prefer it with black tea and they have no issues ever switching the base tea. The inside also is cozy and has a nice anime theme to it. There is plenty of seating and computers to order at if you prefer that method. Returned to Tapioca Go for its delicious Taro bubble tea! The staff is so efficient and friendly. I love that they have more then just bubble teas, the smoothies and fruity icy crushes are good too. I have tried the berry fruit drinks and the Galaxy, they are tasty! I noticed some cool options for those in need of a lactose free drink. They have put the tables back out and the restrooms are open again. I sat at the bar top at the entrance. It was a pleasant experience and I again enjoyed the decor and stickers in there. Full disclosure: I love bubble tea but I am always wary of trying new non-chain bubble tea establishments because it's always 50/50 and I've been batting zero the last few times I tried one. I stopped in with zero expectations despite positive reviews. Because I came on a Sunday, I was able to get one of the brown sugar series drinks and I chose the Volcannno with all the goodies (foam & nuts). OMG! It was delicious!! Highly recommend. [Coronavirus review] This was definitely a want rather than a need. I had to wait to even enter the store because of restrictions and because it is apparently a popular place. They had an ordering kiosk inside to save time and minimize interaction. I got a grapefruit tea that had some pretty substantial pieces of grapefruit in it, and added fruity jellies and popping boba. Some might call that excessive, but it's how I roll. The mix of fruits was pretty delicious. I love winter melon tea and that's the only thing I order whenever we go to boba places. My SO loves Tapioca Go and he is a VIP member. Most of the time, he'll order our drinks "to go." As for me, I've only been Tapioca Go twice. I ordered Winter melon Tea with tapioca pearls. Normally, I do not get tapiocas or if I do, I only want just a few pieces. Their tapiocas are crunchy and I think that was the most memorable thing from my drink. I like how customers are able to customize their drinks by the amount of sweetness and the amount of ice they can put on their drinks. I asked a few questions to the guy behind the register and he seemed a little under knowledge about their products. My go to order with any bubble tea is 'coconut milk tea' with tapioca. Well here..It was just ok, not the best I've had. It had a floral undertone taste to it so I'm not sure if that is the signature taste at Tapiaco Go. I didn't find it to be creamy and even at 50% less sugar it was still way too sweet. The tapioca was chewy and soft and I enjoyed it very much. I also tried the Rose milk tea with Aloe jelly... and it had a nice flavor to it, just what you would expect in a Rose drink, but again way too sweet!! This place was a fun find. I'm new to the area and have been searching for a good place for Boba tea to scratch the itch. While their menu isn't super elaborate, there is enough variety so that there's something for everyone. I'm assuming that's because of the flavoured syrups they use. Overall, the taste of both drinks was good. The yogurt Boba was better than the tapioca - which I found a little undercooked. The manager and the young lady at the counter were so warm, friendly, and helpful and helped my family and I after our completely botched drink orders we received at the NOT-AFFILIATED store in Macarthur Mall (rated 1/5).
