Best brewery in town! Always has fun events, lite live music, great company and sometimes even food trucks come park outside. They also have an arcade machine, board games with a lounge area, and snacks (chips, cookies, non alcoholic bevs, and even grab n go charcuterie boards). Recently installed TV's as well to watch sports, movies, wheel of fortune, ect. The owners really care about their customers and accommodate them the best they can even taking ideas for new kinds of beer! Right there on high street in Olde town, don't hesitate to experience PSB!

Really enjoyed checking out the 757's newest craft brewery. They've only been open a week, but they seem to have it together. At the time of our visit, they offered five beers, as well as a black cherry seltzer. My favorite was their lost recipe amber ale. It had a rich malty body and was full of flavor. The lemon drop IPA was also really crisp and nice. I also liked the Oatmeal Stout, which was lighter and more drinkable than many versions I've had. The space is very nice, with bar seating, tables, as well as a couch and some easy chairs. The owners were very friendly, and as the name implies, work full-time as teachers in local public schools. They also offer discounts to teachers, which was an added bonus for me. As for food, they have an arrangement with next-door door Cure coffeehouse and sell their charcuterie boards. They also have bags of tasty Zapp's chips for sale. They're located in Old Town Portsmouth on High Street, just before Effingham. I definitely recommend checking them out soon! I'm looking forward to more beers in the future!

Price point was about $16 for a burger and fries without a drink. We ordered the regular cheeseburger, the Cowboy (bacon, BBQ sauce, and American cheese), the Cobra Kai (cream cheese, pickled jalapeños, and jalapeño jelly), and the Classic Jack (caramelized onions, JB sauce, and dill pickles). Everything tasted solid and came out hot. The restaurant itself is very small and does not seem ideal for larger groups. Despite this, I loved the ambiance, it has a dive bar vibe with lots of notes on dollar bills on the walls that were fun to read. I will be coming back again when in the area! A special shoutout to the waitress with the bridge piercing. She was friendly, accommodating, and quick with service, which really stood out.

I selected The Veil as the spot for my UYE and enjoyed an evening of talking shop with the great J David H. while we drank those great beers. The Veil is a comfortable spot in the Railroad District and we were sitting in their dining area on the ground floor. Big tables and plenty of room this afternoon. Which we needed because that burger and fries needed elbow room to enjoy. I'd only suggest a pump-based ketchup dispenser as the packet thing is tedious. They opened here in 2019 - well after I was done with my projects in Virginia Beach and Chesapeake - transforming this three-story space into a family-friendly taproom and restaurant. The full kitchen specializes in indulgent smashburgers and Neapolitan-style pizzas that pair perfectly with the brewery's bold stouts, hazy IPAs, and seasonal sours. We didn't have the opportunity to enjoy the Only You Bar & Lounge upstairs. Maybe that's the next visit to Hampton Roads. [Round number review 1500 in Virginia - 911 of 2025 - 24467 overall]

I only experienced the downstairs on my visit with Yelp friend Bruce K. The Happy Hour pricing was a draw as well as stellar reviews. Parking in their own smallish lot on a weekday was no problem. They also have free off street parking too! No debris in sight on my walk up. The signage is the building itself which is darn cool. They also offer outdoor seating. I started off with a Blend which is a Pale and Pilsner if I recall and it was tasty. The counter service was excellent. You can cash tip or card. Customers can also leave a tab open. The seating is wood bench type that comfortably seats six. The aesthetics of the first floor is high ceilings, concrete floors and walls. The kitchen has a garage door over the front. The space was previously a restaurant, but before may have been a factory, or warehouse. Only negative was music was a bit elevated for talking. Prior to Happy Hour concluding I ordered a $6 on special smash burger that comes with fries. No other dudes are available. The regular price is $12, so this is a deal friends. In about 20 minutes burgers and fries were delivered to the table. The look was downright amazing, so pretty much knew this bad boy was gonna be a hitter. The burger comes with double patty, cheese, Dukes mayo, lettuce a pickle. If something else I'm sorry I forgot. The first bite was phenomenal! Fresh bread, perfectly cooked 80/20 beef which was not greasy. The construction was a masterpiece. The thin fries were cooked crispy and seasoned well, yum! Honestly I could eat that burger everyday. The whole experience was exceptional and worthy of a full 5. Totally recommend checking The Veil Brewing out.

It is a cool spot with plenty of inside seating, and there is an outside party tent in the back. On my visit there was a food tent and the food was exceptional. They are also literally next to a taco spot. Tacos and beer equals a great time. What makes Afterglow extra special is they have plenty of TVs, which is an after thought in most breweries. On Sunday I got to watch every NFL game I wanted. Plus, they are dog friendly, kid friendly, and generally people friendly. The BEER: Kolsch Call kolsch 5.2% ABV... some citrus, maybe lemon peel. It was refreshing. Sticky Situation session IPA 5% ABV... not my favorite flavor profile, east coast hoppy, quite dry, definitely all day crushable Sprocket Surgery IPA 6.7% ABV... Wow, thus has a burst of flavor, slightly juicy, dankish, and so weird I got sandlewood, like that is a flavor, lol Redefined DIPA 7.6% ABV... YES. Everything I wanted in a beer. Fruity, hoppy, juicy I also had a full pour of the toasted west coast IPA and the Dad Vibz pilsner, but that was way later in the day on my second visit. Yes, I circled back around on this brewery because it was worth coming back. All the beer here is good, and the service is better than the beer. Okay, maybe they are the same.... GREAT!!!

As soon as we arrived, we noticed all the vendors and couldn't wait to walk around and check each one out. Since we were a bit hungry, we walked over to the food trucks but there were only two, Rosa's Lumpia & Pancit and Mockingbird Pasta Bar. Neither offered any food items we wanted so we decided to grab a bite nearby at the Sanctuary. We had a decent time at the Norfolk Flea Market but unfortunately, we didn't find anything we wanted to purchase. I definitely wouldn't mind checking out Afterglow Brewing though the next time I'm in the area.
