If you love beer, this is your place! However, this is not really a museum any longer. I don't know what happened or when, but this is a house with a few beer signs and steins and a couple informative posters. There is no charge to enter, and no tour guide. The bonus here is the small barroom and the amazing bartendress within. She truly loves what she does, and really knows her beer, from history to styles and flavors. Tell her a beer you like, and she will pour one of Virginia's microbrews into your glass, and you will love it! It's a small place as far as seating goes, but she is a beer lovers best friend! We set up a private tour for our family reunion. The owner was great. He gave us an introduction to the museum. Then we got drinks and roamed the exhibits, talking to family in the different rooms along the way. Everyone in our group was very pleased with the experience. read more

The museum is set in a house you walk from room to room with cute beer items all over. The bar downstairs has good local beers. We had some of their seasonal pumpkin beers while sitting outside listening to live music. Would go again! read more

I was heading to Shenandoah National Park and ended up taking a "wrong turn" and I'm glad I did. I saw the Beer Museum sign and the German flag out front and decided to stop in for a beer. The tap room attendant April was an amazing host and made us feel at home right away. The museum also has a great front porch to sit and relax and enjoy the old town charm. I will definitely stop by again the next time I visit! read more

I went to the outdoor Kareoke there and had a horrible time. I was the 2nd person there and the host skipped over me and let the person that got there after go before me. I ended up sing 2 songs to her 3. Then a bunch of people showed up late and the host bumped me to the bottom of the list. His wife over heard me complaining to my friend about his playing favorites with who sings next and she tried to tell me that I already sang 3 songs and that I needed to chill out. She did not get her facts straight I only sang 2 songs. I ended up leaving and was very upset. I will never go back to that gathering again read more

We walked by this place curious about what exactly a beer museum is (and if I'm being honest I mainly hopped they serve beer - and they do!). The decor was interesting, humorous at times, and informative and they had several good beer options on draft. The bartender was nice and we sat out back for a little while with our beers. Just a very neat and unique place to grab a drink and explore some of their displays. Also, the beer prices are more than fair if you're used to NoVA or DC prices. read more

I recently enjoyed a visit here. Cool concept, great-tasting beer, an outside area, interesting and entertaining beer facts and trivia. Also love their glasses, I even bought a couple. Speaking of the glasses, we were told they held 16 ozs, much to my surprise. Nope. Once at home, measured and they hold 12 ozs at most. Still a nice place to check out. read more

What a fun place! We stumbled on this place after a morning visiting Rappahannock artists and a drive and hike on Skyline Drive. We (3 gay men, two of whom are Asian) were warmly welcomed by the bartender and given an overview of the place. We loved the rooms on the second floor, and the ability to sit and enjoy our beers around the table in the prohibition room. The outdoors did not hold alot of appeal to us (loud music), but I will definitely bring people back to this unique place. read more

Owner had my last review deleted after reporting so reuploading to meet Yelp content guidelines: Trash bar, awful service, childish owners. Take your money elsewhere. Last interacted with official Facebook page on August 8 2020 based on a facebook review I posted regarding my last visit on October 15 2018. They also tried contacting my family to take down my review. The Facebook owner was rude and even posted a photo of myself on his comment due to my negative review. The more we stop the more we love this place. The staff are fantastic and the beer selection phenomenal. So much more than just going to a bar for a pint. Beer prices are reasonable and again, Jennifer, Whittnee and Jerry are fantastic!! Just opened last week and even though David, the owner, is still figuring out the kinks it was a wonderful little stop. VA craft brew by the pint or the flight as well as a bunch of beer related history. David was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and there was a nice group of people sitting around and chatting with him and amongst themselves while we tried our brews. He did a great job explaining the different offerings and finding something special for both myself and my boyfriend, who have very different pallets. Def worth a visit! read more

We stopped in here while walking around Front Royal. Though the museum is still in an unfinished state (there are a few educational plaques on the wall with some beer memorabilia) we still had a fun time. The owner, David, was working the tap room. You can order pints or get a flight which is what we did. He asked us what our tastes in beer were and tailored the flights for each of us. We stayed for a while, talking with David and the other patrons. David was extremely knowledgeable about the beers and if you didn't like one in your flight he replaced it with another. I highly recommend this place, it has lots of potential and the museum is by donations, so hook the man up. This should become a Front Royal tradition. read more

I have passed the Beer Museum many times, thinking how clever the project. But I did not stop to enter until a neighbor invited me to go with her. What a surprise! The Museum delivers with different rooms, some with life-size historical figures and all with walls bearing memorabilia or interesting quotes of the history of beer in Virginia. There is obviously the room where we are able to sample a variety of unusual beers with a description of each until we choose one we would like to have more of. Another room has seating while we watched an early television monitor showing early commercials. Watching old commercials is actually much fun, seeing clothing, behavior, and presentations that differ substantially from the present. In another room, Michael Hasty played his guitar and at times added his harmonica. Newly arrived friends joined us. Some of us danced and at times sang when he played songs of our choice. It was equivalent to having a private party but others were welcomed to and did enter. We all had great fun. The Museum has a large outside area with a small band and picnic tables for family gatherings. All ages can be comfortable. The Museum is a success as it is now, but I feel certain it will continue to develop. Subsequent visits will be worthwhile as well as entertaining given the frequency of the musicians. read more
