Great service, clean, open space, great portions and taste for what we ordered : Philly cheesesteak and fries and a Mediterranean flatbread. Everything was great. For people in New York and Philadelphia they may not approve. But we don't live there. And we tried the "water" and I mean, it's what you'd expect for local tap water. Stopped in for dinner around 8pm on a Sunday, about three hours before closing. The space is large and felt mostly empty, aside from a small but very loud group at the bar. We entered through the rear and were immediately hit with a strong cleaning product smell; we appreciate the effort to keep things clean, but it was a bit overwhelming while being seated and ordering. We ordered wings and the smothered chicken. The standout was definitely the smothered chicken--excellent flavor, generous portion, and the green beans were cooked just right. The wings, unfortunately, didn't measure up. They were fairly bland, a bit greasy, and slightly undercooked. Service was solid. Alexa handled both bar and table service efficiently and kept things moving despite juggling multiple responsibilities. We walked in on a quiet Saturday afternoon, the place is pretty big with a good amount of seating. The back bar area is pretty dark with the dark gray walls, up front there is a good amount of natural light coming in as well as the opportunity to dine outside with your favorite fuzzy friend (pet friendly) We were greeted and promptly seated waiting only moments before the staff was asking us what we wanted to drink and went over the appetizer menu. We ordered the 3 for $15 - wings (naked with sauce in the side), pretzel bites with beer cheese and fried pickles. The wings were cooked well, tight skin and juicy in the inside, the beer cheese has good flavor and unlike some, no gritty texture and the fried pickles...I am not a fan of pickles however I tried them so I could provide a review. To my surprise both the exterior coating as well as the pickle inside had a nice crunch. Main course, we decided to split a cheeseburger and some house made slaw. The burger was cooked a perfect medium rare, it was juicy from the first bite to the last, it is NOT a thin Cisco burger but a thick tasteful patty. The slaw was refreshing, and not overly covered in mayo. We will return to try the steak and pasta as well as some of the seasonal football specials (Go Packers). read more

The vibe here was off. It felt like the twilight zone and I really wish we would have gone elsewhere but we were tired. It seemed like the staff had no idea what they should be doing. It took a long time just to be seated even though it was empty. Finally seated but with no menus. We really wanted some salad but after ordering beers we were told they were out of lettuce. The wings were well-cooked and the sauce (garlic parmesan) was very good. The Mediterranean flatbread was undercooked and not cut well. It was served on a paper-lined tray and the alfredo sauce turned the paper to mush. The paper was sticking to the bread when we tried to cut it. It might have tasted good but the alfredo sauce threw the taste off. Honestly many of the menu items seem like bizarre experiments. The beer was good though. read more

First time at Brick House and already thinking we need to go back! Came for the burgers and they did not disappoint! These are NOT frozen patties! They are big juicy ( literally bread started falling apart from the juice) burgers and you can get a specialty burger or build your own. We got the burger with bacon, bbq sauce cheese LTO which came with yummy fries. On top of that they had drink specials so we went for the $5 Margaritas and it was a tall one! Service was good and had a sports bar vibe. Only complaint were the wooden booths which were very uncomfortable (straight wood no cushion). Otherwise great lunch! read more

We entered a relatively empty restaurant and were seated by a nice young man. Then we waited. And waited. We thought about leaving to find another place and I really wish we had. When we finally placed an order for drinks and food, we waited another 15-20 minutes for the bartender to stop gabbing and look at her order slips. She needed to find another bottle of wine... apparently it was somewhere in the depths of the establishment which she ventured forth to after tending to and non-chalantly gabbing with the two other people at the bar. The glass my white wine was served in was frighteningly dirty and i had to wipe down the lipstick and fingerprint marks. (My movie reel mind was revisiting the meningitis commercials I've seen recently.) Caesar salad was decent. Hot honey wings were okay. Sirloin and ribeye were indistinguishable from one another, pathetically thin and undercooked. I gagged on my fifth bite and cut it up to take back to our hotel for the dogs. I half expected them to turn their noses up, but they enjoyed it. The baked potato was good but cold. The rice and the broccoli were good according to my husband. When he ordered a second glass of wine and we sat waiting, he gave up and retrieved it from the bar himself. My greatest hope is I don't get sick from this adventure. Next to our hotel is a Macdonald 's . My husband jokingly asked if I wanted to go there for dinner before we went to the Brick House. I should have said yes. Today was the second time I have been to this Bar and Grill and everything was very good. The food was excellent and generous portions. The staff were prompt, attentive, courteous, I knowledgeable and efficient.The prices were reasonable. The environment was clean and neat. It was loud but it is, after all, a BAR and grill. Everything about our experience here was amazing! We had the steak and cheese egg rolls as an appetizer. I got the 8oz sirloin and they allowed me to add a second one to my meal for only $14 more. I like my steak well done and it's hard to find a place that doesn't burn it. The steaks were PERFECT! My husband got the Bourbon BBQ burger and I, someone who does not like BBQ sauce, loved it! Our waitress was very nice and accommodating, willing to ask how much extra the second steak would be. I would recommend this place 100 times! read more

Brickhouse Bar and Grille hosted my father's celebration of life, and I could not be more grateful. I'm still reflecting on the day, but one thing that stands out clearly is how wonderful the entire experience was. I hope this place makes it, because we have a lot of restaurant turnover in this town and I usually have to drive to Winchester for a decent dinner. But I liked it just fine. This is a small town and in some reviews, I don't think people really take to that into account. I think it's one of the best places I've been to so far and I've lived here for 20 years, so that being said, I wish this place much luck. Nice place, we had a table of four (me, my husband and our neighbors on Blue Mountain), saw the horse win the KY Derby at the bar, while waiting to be seated. We arrived to many open tables, but were told there was a wait because they were busy. We waited 10 minutes and were seated. It became clear that they were busy because of just one waitress and a bartender taking care of the entire restaurant. We ordered our meals at the same time as our drinks to streamline the process. The manager came out to inform us that they were out of ribeyes. Fortunately they had sirloin since my husband really wanted a steak. The food came out missing the green beans that my husband ordered. The bartender was supposed to bring out the beans along with water. She was so busy that we flagged down the manager and he brought out the beans. The food was good. I ordered the smothered chicken with sautéed onions and mushrooms on top, but only got mushrooms. The chicken was very good even without the onions. My mashed potatoes were hot unlike my husband's which were cold. My husband's steak was cooked medium rare as ordered and was tasty. The biggest problem was them not having enough staff to serve and check on their tables properly. The bartender did as best as she could be expected to do and was very pleasant. Perhaps the manager could have stepped up and checked on each table after their food had arrived to ensure that everything was ok? Overall the hot food was above average. The low staffing was the main issue. We plan on returning on chance that our first visit to this restaurant was just an off night. read more

Border line dive bar which is a plus to me. Food is good. Bands are not frequent enough but the bar makes them sound good if they're good. Hardly ever do they have bands though. first impression wasn't that great. the entrance room is significantly lacking an inviting atmospher. cold and stark is the best way to describe what should be a cool and lively invitation to a pub. but, moving on to the bar area where most people are, things got a little bit better as far as pub decor goes although the boths were hard and worn. let's get to the food and service, this is what moved the rating. the service was exeellent. very knowledgeable and attentive. we even spoke of improving the menu since the burgers come with a side but the menu forgot to note that. i had the switchburger with grilled onions and musrooms plus swish cheese. it had to be a half pound but again the menu didn't mention such an important detail. however, putting the menu aside, the burger was incredable. i am from philadelphis orginally and we know our sandwiches and this place knows how to make a great burger. plus, the fries were probably the best i have had and i have had many. my wife had a chopped salade which she consumed every bit of it. oh, they have some good selections of beer but they don't have a beer list on the table nor do they have it on the menu which is contrary to selling techniques. so, there you have plenty of information. oh, they have a diferse menu to choose from including apps and steaks. definately put the brick house on your go to list. thomas hills read more
