I'm giving 2 stars ONLY because of the 2 older women that does a great job there, they did my manicure and pedicure in the past and it was fantastic. They don't mind staying if you show up close to closing either. However, the younger lady with the highlights in her hair, rushes and does a terrible job. If it was just her I would give 1 or 0 star. I have to go get a pedicure somewhere after I paid for a pedicure there. No leg or foot massage, same with the manicure. She even left off the lotion for my hands. After she painted my nails she used her fingers to try to dot some lotion on my hands. Just ridiculous. I didn't want to say anything because, I've seen nail shop videos online, and I do it want to end up as the angry black woman at the nail shop on YouTube. I just won't go back. She also did my daughter's pedicure it literally took her longer to do the polish on her nails than it took to do the pedicure part. So, so disappointing. Those pictures are literally about 10 minutes after the "pedicure" I had to stop so I took pictures of my feet before I got out. UPDATE 5/2/2019 Okay so my manicure and pedicure were done this past Saturday.I got gel nails for the longevity since I'm going out of town, it is now Thursday not even a whole week and the gel nails are lifting right off. I paid extra and that is about how long the polish last when I do it at home myself. read more

I read the horrible reviews on google (I left a google review as well) and decided to find out how this place was myself...ever since, I've been coming here now for over a year! Looove it here.... staff are cool... friendly... and do such an amazing job!!! I get pedicures... and this is the only place I will come to!! They're very gentle, and make sure they get the cuticles all chopped off... and they're massages are soooo relaxing!! I do want to mention... if you're allergic to latex like myself... let them know right away... because when you sit in the chair... those gloves are on... and the water can be a little on the hot side.... so I always ask for them to make it less "warm"... A big Plus here... is that it doesn't smell like chemicals! All of the places I've been to smell awful... this place has the doors open for air flow and just a well ventilated place in general.... Don't go here if you want long lasting nails. The salon itself is well kept and staffed. I came here without an appointment and was pleased to find that the wait for walk-ins wasn't overwhelming, however it was a long wait (which I totally understand considering I didn't make an appointment). I just needed a refill for my acrylics and my friend was getting a full set of acrylics. You'd think the refill would take less time than the full set- nope! It took longer. Not to mention it was uneven and poorly shaped, and I was cut by the drill (which happens sometimes, I get it). The nail polish all chipped off in just a few days and All the acrylics completely fell off in few weeks. I'm not a nail salon buff, but I've had my nails done before at different places and I've never had such uneven and low quality nails. The polish and acrylics should at least last more than a month, even with the nails grown out. The prices on their wall are NOT the prices they charge, and I strongly think that should be changed so it's not so misleading. The workers were kind and I won't forget that if I ever travel back here (not likely). read more

At $14 for a fill-in and $20 for a gel manicure you really can't complain. However, whatever you do... do NOT go on a Friday night. Don't let the desolate location fool you, I went on the Friday afternoon around 5pm, waited for an hour and a half and I still walked out! And that was with 5-6 people working. Because the prices are so low when people come in for services they get everything done and I mean everything!!!....i.e., nails, designs, eyebrows, toes...etc. So it may seem like you are next but that person before you and all the others being serviced have 2 more services to be rendered before it's your turn. I returned the next day, early Saturday morning (they open at 9:30 on Sat.) and had no issues. Note: there is only one employee that knows how to work the electric tools needed to do overlays, fullsets, fill-in etc., so if you you are having services done requiring her 'espertise' and you don't want to wait I'd suggest showing up when they first open or making an appointment. All theemployees are female (all Vietnamese) and only one of them speakes english clearly. This palce isn't fancy or zen like but they will get the job done. There are plenty of colors to pick from ( sorry no OPI but they do have Essie and China Glaze), there is no wifi, one TV (with only ONE channel), and you can use your credit/debit card but there is a minimum charge of $10 and they do not accept American Express. I'm not going to say they did a bad job, but I wouldn't call it good, either. I went in for a French manicure, no tips or anything. I was the only one there at 5 pm which I thought was odd. The staff were all very nice. At the time, the tech was so detailed I figured they'd turn out great. When I left I found my nails were splotchy and almost red from the polish not being mixed well enough or something. I confirmed this with someone else just to make sure. Less than a week later my cuticles are frayed (?) and the polish is severely chipped. I work an office job, so my hands don't get a lot of wear and tear...I'm disappointed. My teenaged children went to the salon; one for gel powder and the other a simple manicure. The process was 2.5 hours and for the $$$ wait and cost, not impressed. I waited two hours with my friend to only get my cuticles done and she didn't even start. after my cuticles got done I asked for tips, she got up clicked off the light and cleaned up, she went to do someone else's pedicure. I went for a gel manicure ($15). My cuticles did not get trimmed nor where my nails even filed. The polish was merely slapped on which left an uneven finish. She left gel polish on my fingers. I was charged $25 even though the sign says $15- gel polish because $15 is supposedly the cost for the gel polish alone. The deluxe manicure I obviously received was $10 more. read more

Vi's Nails provided one of the worst services i have ever experienced. Their business is obviously reliant on F&M students around the corner who only go to this nail salon because of their prime location. The past times i have gone there they have been very unprofessional and passive aggressive to their customers. They will not be getting my service and hopefully any others again. I would rather personally chauffeur any Franklin and Marshall student to a nail salon in a remote location than recommend their services again. read more

I was extremely pleased with both the service and the quality of my nails when I went to Vi's. I didn't wait long for a seat and I didn't have to wait at all throughout the process. I was only there for about 40 minutes to get my acrylics filled which I found to be very reasonable. The nail technician was very quick but careful and skillful with her work. Tiffany is where it's at! She's just amazing!! No, this isn't a fancy place. Vi's isn't going to give you any sort of a high end experience. It's not a 10 across the board place. What they can offer is really convenient hours, very good prices, a very decent selection of colors in gel and dip powders and I've only ever had consistently great service from Tiffany. I wore acrylics for a good while and got constantly complimented from people who thought they were natural nails. I recently transitioned to the dip powder when my own nails got long enough because they were stronger than the regular gel polish and I work with my hands a lot and feared breakage. It was great and they lasted almost 3 weeks. I have been to nicer places and had better amenities available but I prefer the consistency at Vi's. I, personally, would rather go to a salon with a 5 atmosphere that provides a 10 service and that's what I always get. read more

I have been going to Vis for several years now. Anne, Tiffany, and David are wonderful. Always friendly and welcoming. I Come From New York where there are lots of Asian nail salons to choose from and this is the best one in the Westshore area. A little slow at times, but I'm always happy with the result. Their powder manicures are the best. More expensive than a traditional manicure, but they last several weeks and wear so much better. Definitely worth the money. read more

I would give them 0 stars if I could. The older nail tech is extremely rude and unprofessional. If she makes a mistake she gives you an attitude to fix HER mistake. I went to get waxed and she didn't touch half my eyebrows and was upset that I kept asking her to fix it. The next day I went to get one fingernail fixed (bc it's close to my job) and she refused to fix my nail bc of our interaction the day before. I was very disappointed. I went here 3 times and each time I was charged $38 for a gel fill. The last time I went it was $28 for the same thing! I didn't see a price/service listing on the wall or online but if there is one I haven't found one. If you have an apt it doesn't mean you will not be left waiting if walk-ins come in as I was shifted from person to person so they could accommodate walk-ins even though I had an appointment.
