Then we had lunch, listened to an acoustic guitar player and walked around the an art show. One of my pet sitting clients moved and I saw this cute truck outside of this store. I was intrigued and their Instagram sounded promising for a tasty latte. Upon entering is the cafe part and a welcoming smiling staff, tables, fresh water and items to browse. I ordered a maple pistachio oat milk latte and it was divine! There is an entryway into a little shop area with the cutest items and certainly something for everyone. I asked a couple questions about their cbd tea with an associate and they were very helpful. I ended up going back the next day for another latte and an extra to bring back home to my daughter.. which she absolutely loved as well. Oh and their gf peanut butter cookie and gf cheddar everything scone... every bite was worth every penny!! The prices were very reasonable as well. I'm looking forward to going back in a couple weeks and will have to post pictures. If you're ever in the area or just driving through then this place is a must rest stop! read more

Sunday Breakfast in this historic quaint setting was perfect that is open until 3:00 pm for breakfast or lunch. Husband enjoyed the Irish Breakfast Sandwich. I had the Crustless Quiche with Spinach, Bacon, and Cheddar. It was so tender it melted in my mouth. The cheddar provided a sharpness to the creaminess of the quiche. (see photos to enhance my description) The best part was the sweet ending. I nabbed the last Raspberry Scone which exceeded my high expectations -- full of fresh raspberries and not too sweet scone. We also shared a Blueberry Muffin which was top notch. There were also cookies, sweet breads, and Pecan Pie in the case. They serve excellent Harney Teas, great coffee, and a variety of hot chocolate, lattes etc. I included a photo of the beverage menu as well as the food offerings. The Beekman Bros line is offered in the general store along with NYS hand lotions and candles. The Lavender Rosemary lotion was a must buy. The general store includes cards, handbags, vintage items, plus mugs and t-shirts with the store logo. We sat inside but many families were eating outside since it was a lovely fall day. read more

The vibes are immaculate and they back it up with excellent food, drink, and events. The staff is super sweet. My husband's a coffee drinker and he's really enjoyed both their hot and iced coffee. I love their specialty lemonade and we've enjoyed several events in their outdoor space. And their products are lovely! You'll undoubtedly want to take a look at their trendy gifts, many of which are reminiscent of the local area (e.g. merch like shirts, mugs, soaps, greeting cards, jewelry, tons of fun tidbits). Food is delicious!! My friends and family frequently enjoy meeting here for brunch (the French toast is my favorite - simple but obviously homemade with wholesome ingredients). Been here a handful of times and absolutely adore this place. The chocolate chip cookies with sea salt are life changing and worth the drive from anywhere in the capital region. They are crunchy while somehow still slightly gooey in the middle and balanced perfectly with quality salt. The shop is the perfect place to visit when seasons are changing and you want to redecorate the interior or exterior of your home. So many quality handmade items and my favorite cozy crewneck sweater proudly says Vischer Ferry General Store. It's gone on every trip with me. My regular diner was closed for the holiday weekend, so I found myself in need of breakfast elsewhere. This place has been on "my list" for half a year and I just hadn't gotten around to it - hello perfect time to try something new! This place is super cute - half country gift shop, half cafe, it serves a small menu of breakfast and lunch items, with a plethora of baked goods and an extensive coffee menu for a place that wears so many hats. I tried an English toffee latte and their staple breakfast sandwich. The latte was *perfect* - could have used a little less foam, but the flavor wasn't burned, right amount of milk, it wasn't scalding hot, and just sweet enough. The breakfast sandwich was a unique creation, being the only such thing on the menu - a toasted artisan bun, tomato, cheddar, crispy bacon, and a half-scrambled egg, with dijon mustard. I admit I was dubious of the mustard, but with the sweetness of the steamed/fried tomato and the sharp cheddar and salty bacon, it was perfect. I'm glad I took the chance, because it was definitely worth it. Try this place out! No cape and tights for me today!!! I've donned my best bonnet and my nice high-necked dress that goes down to my ankles and I spit polished by high boots. This quaint little getaway is only 15 miles from Albany, straight up the Northway, but it felt far away and like we'd gone back in time. This recently renovated historic structure (damaged by fire in 2013) was carefully and lovingly restored, preserving historic details where possible. The floorboards and shelves and lighting and finishes are rustic and serviceable and very cool and relaxing. Nice job. They sell wares - soaps and lotions and mugs and jewelry and cookbooks and stationary and old-fashioned toys, fun to explore while you wait for your order. Puppy ordered the Enchilada ($8.99), served straight up with a dollop of sour cream on the side. Loaded with chicken and beans, tortilla (of course), corn, cheese and something green, it was delicious, but it could really have used a side of fresh greens, and maybe it was a bit pricey for what it was. I enjoyed a Ham, Brie and Fig Sandwich ($6.99), warm and melty on a toasted baguette. Sweet and salty, rich and delicious, though the bread was just a bit too hard and crunchy. I added a bit of that sour cream and a touch of grease was a good thing. I like chips for breakfast. This made me happy. Roommate and I split a delicate breakfast sandwich (brioche, fluffy egg, roasted tomato, the best sharp cheddar and bacon), and slice of quiche (Swiss, bacon, asparagus, and spinach). Heaven. All quality items and fairly priced. Worth the trip The food on the other hand was a big swing and a miss. Getting the food was fine. Order your food at the counter, get your beverage and a pager to wait for your food. All socially distant and well done. The coffee was weak, weak, weak. Tasteless and tepid. On to the food. The crust less quiche sounded promising but ended up being a reheated, super wet soggy and greasy mess. Strike 2. They accommodate gluten free, vegetarian, etc. I had a gluten free ham sandwich with peach butter and arugula. My husband had the regular version. My gluten free vegan cookie was delicious. This is kind of an emergency review, since Mother's Day is tomorrow as I write this, but this is the perfect place to take Mom. It has great little tidbit sandwiches, very fine baked goods, a nice little patio out back (currently in the process of being landscaped, but pleasant nevertheless), and in addition to the coffee house vibe (with a common table up the middle) there's an extremely well-curated collection of giftables, including lots of local artisan/arts things from birdhouses to water colors to cards to clothes. It's a small but very diverse little olio of things at not extravagant prices, plus souvenirs of the store itself. A place that respects history but is modern in its amenities: definitely a destination, particularly if you're coming over to hike the trails, finally there's a place for a nosh in Vischer Ferry proper (the closest next one is the Riverview orchard cafe up the road, which is hardly as relaxing.)
