Sunday Breakfast in this historic quaint setting was perfect that is open until 3:00 pm for breakfast or lunch. Husband enjoyed the Irish Breakfast Sandwich. I had the Crustless Quiche with Spinach, Bacon, and Cheddar. It was so tender it melted in my mouth. The cheddar provided a sharpness to the creaminess of the quiche. (see photos to enhance my description) The best part was the sweet ending. I nabbed the last Raspberry Scone which exceeded my high expectations -- full of fresh raspberries and not too sweet scone. We also shared a Blueberry Muffin which was top notch. There were also cookies, sweet breads, and Pecan Pie in the case. They serve excellent Harney Teas, great coffee, and a variety of hot chocolate, lattes etc. I included a photo of the beverage menu as well as the food offerings. The Beekman Bros line is offered in the general store along with NYS hand lotions and candles. The Lavender Rosemary lotion was a must buy. The general store includes cards, handbags, vintage items, plus mugs and t-shirts with the store logo. We sat inside but many families were eating outside since it was a lovely fall day.

One-of-a-kind store nestled within the Clifton Park/Rexford backroads. You might walk in just hoping for a quick cup of coffee but beware - this place is too cool to just walk out. You'll undoubtedly want to take a look at their trendy gifts, many of which are reminiscent of the local area (e.g. merch like shirts, mugs, soaps, greeting cards, jewelry, tons of fun tidbits). Food is delicious!! My friends and family frequently enjoy meeting here for brunch (the French toast is my favorite - simple but obviously homemade with wholesome ingredients). Great selections of teas. Their chai tea latte is pretty tasty too. There's really nothing else quite like it in the area. Highly recommend stopping in!

My regular diner was closed for the holiday weekend, so I found myself in need of breakfast elsewhere. This place has been on "my list" for half a year and I just hadn't gotten around to it - hello perfect time to try something new! This place is super cute - half country gift shop, half cafe, it serves a small menu of breakfast and lunch items, with a plethora of baked goods and an extensive coffee menu for a place that wears so many hats. I tried an English toffee latte and their staple breakfast sandwich. The latte was *perfect* - could have used a little less foam, but the flavor wasn't burned, right amount of milk, it wasn't scalding hot, and just sweet enough. The breakfast sandwich was a unique creation, being the only such thing on the menu - a toasted artisan bun, tomato, cheddar, crispy bacon, and a half-scrambled egg, with dijon mustard. I admit I was dubious of the mustard, but with the sweetness of the steamed/fried tomato and the sharp cheddar and salty bacon, it was perfect. I'm glad I took the chance, because it was definitely worth it. Try this place out! It's not a full-breakfast option, but they offer quiches and waffles in addition to their tasty sandwich creation, and there is plenty of seating to take in the summer sunshine!

    Great brunch!

No cape and tights for me today!!! I've donned my best bonnet and my nice high-necked dress that goes down to my ankles and I spit polished by high boots. This quaint little getaway is only 15 miles from Albany, straight up the Northway, but it felt far away and like we'd gone back in time. This recently renovated historic structure (damaged by fire in 2013) was carefully and lovingly restored, preserving historic details where possible. The floorboards and shelves and lighting and finishes are rustic and serviceable and very cool and relaxing. Nice job. They sell wares - soaps and lotions and mugs and jewelry and cookbooks and stationary and old-fashioned toys, fun to explore while you wait for your order. Puppy ordered the Enchilada ($8.99), served straight up with a dollop of sour cream on the side. Loaded with chicken and beans, tortilla (of course), corn, cheese and something green, it was delicious, but it could really have used a side of fresh greens, and maybe it was a bit pricey for what it was. I enjoyed a Ham, Brie and Fig Sandwich ($6.99), warm and melty on a toasted baguette. Sweet and salty, rich and delicious, though the bread was just a bit too hard and crunchy. I added a bit of that sour cream and a touch of grease was a good thing. I like chips for breakfast. This made me happy. The environment is funky, family friendly, and casual - it feels like a place for the community to gather. Close your eyes and go back in time. Then you won't hear me when I try to start my car. A welcome addition to the Schenectady small business retail scene, it's very on-brand, and I'm here for it. I was able to get quite a few Schenectady-centric Christmas gifts here, and since I always try to support local makers and businesses first, this shop made it super easy - lots of one-stop-shopping potential. My haul included: - two ornaments for the Christmas trees of my Schenectady born-and-raised sisters who no longer live in the 518 - a cute little crocheted elf for my 5-month old niece made my a local granny - a rather stunning wooden bowl, handmade by a local engineer/former colleague of the owner who parkates in woodworking as a hobby - Electric City themed gifts for my boss, who's a Schenectady guy at heart, including a wooden/metal hybrid bottle opener with "ELECTRIC CITY" boldy branded on the front, a pint glass with a cool 70s-esque, retro font ("ELECTRIC CITY"), matching sticker (for the laptop!), and a coaster, but not just any old boring coaster. This one had an illustrated scene printed on glossy enamel depicting a Schenectady police officer playing basketball with a child. Not only did this fit my theme, but the I knew the coaster I chose (there were several different ones) would be significant because his father is a retired Schenectady cop. I guess the pictures on the coasters were part of a public art project, where Schenectady-themed scenes were drawn and then selected to appear on merchandise for the Greenmarket and other items, like these coasters sold here. This is a rough Cliffs Notes version of the project, but it was cool learning about it, knowing it was part of something bigger and community focused. It's the little touches like that which make gift giving feel so special, and I know I wouldn't have found any of those beautiful, thoughtful, local gifts without a shop like Schenectady Trading Co. It would have been even better if there was a small card with a write up about the art project, so I could have gifted the coaster with a bit more "purpose." I like it when I can include a write up about the artist or project or whatever interesting element might need further explaining to make the gift even more interesting. Aside from my local finds, there's plenty of other merchandise, and items that stuck out were a selection of Tough Traveler bags (hometown favorite!), "Electric City" and "Schenectady, Light Up the World!" apparel, a cool assortment of Schenectady inspired vinyl stickers, chocolates from Schenectady-based chocolate shop, Uncle Sam's, and quite a few other odds and ends. I'm thankful that shops like this exist, backed by business owners who have an appreciation for the city and realize there's a need for some Electric City gift giving magic. Wishing them lots of luck, and excited to see what type of programming the owner has in mind down the road (she hinted on wanting this to be more than a retail shop, with poetry nights and books clubs and other outlets for mental stimulation - bring it on!)

I was so thankful because I would have had to throw out the beautiful French hand soap that I'd just purchased! Thank you for such a personable and kind experience. This shop takes me back to kinder, gentler days of healthy main streets filled with little boutiques curated individually to reflect the human sensibility of an individual, NOT a soulless corporation. b.inspired home is a truly beautiful gallery offering vintage and new treasures. Two weeks after we ordered it, we got a call that it wouldn't be in until the end of march/beginning of April, they asked if we wanted to change our color way and get something sooner but we said no since it was very expensive, and we would have preferred to wait 2 more weeks. Now it's the end of March and I called to ask for an update (they should've called us again) and now we are told our furniture won't be here till middle of April, and then it should take a week after that to call us to get it set up. Now I understand issues with shipping and it is out of their control, but the lady was explaining it to me like I was born yesterday, she was extremely passive, and when I made a comment saying two weeks waiting to 2 months is a long stretch she quickly cut me off saying well it's not 2 months you ordered it in February, and I said well by the time it gets here yes it will be 2 months since we've ordered it, and her tone was very condescending and rude. and I have noticed this from several of their employees at this location. I don't think we'll ever buy from here again!
