Lakeside Farms is a cozy village spot to shop for produce, meats, pastries, and it is a nice place to have lunch. My hubby and I had different pastrami sandwiches and cider. We also had the potato salad. We were so full! We did not visit the apple barn or the gift store, so I cannot comment on those yet.

So I came here in between appointments for lunch. I had never been here for lunch before. And let me tell you, I am so glad that I did! They have great Boars Head deli meat sandwiches! The sandwiches come with a pickle and a bag of ripple chips. A wonderful lunch from this incredibly adorable country store! They also have really good danish and glazed yeast donuts! I'm in so much trouble now! They also have $45 hanging flower baskets! I just love it here!

I have already written a lengthy positive review but today was special. Went there at 10 am with my daughter, SIL, and four and two year old grandchildren. We had a great time! Food was delicious as always. Today, my SIL decided to order the menu item: Egg Sandwich on an Apple Cider Donut! I never noticed that on the menu, and I was curious. Well, it was a hit; he liked it! We enjoyed seeing him eat every morsel. Check out the last photo. Both Pumpkin and Apple Cider Donuts were available. A taste of fall. It was a nice treat for the grands! Donuts made for a fun breakfast when eaten with quality crispy BACON. I had an open faced Turkey Reuben which was a little on dry side. Did not enjoy it. However, the brewed Birthday Cake Decaf Coffee I had was delicious!

Hash breakfast with wheat bread. The bread was amazing.

This place is SO CUTE. I live for little country stores like this. Fresh produce and local food finds, and they have fresh baked goods and hot meals?! We spent the first half of our visit perusing all of the nicnacs, local foods, produce, etc. everything was so tempting. I scoped a few things I wanted to purchase before we left. We ordered our breakfast from the counter and found a table to wait for our order to be called. I enjoyed my breakfast however my partner did not, so I guess it can be hit or miss. What can't miss is that bread though. I ordered the wheat bread and it was baked fresh in house. I couldn't leave without a loaf for myself. I also took advantage of their selections from Oscars Smokehouse and took home a nice smoked blue cheese. Simple good food, no frills. Excellent local food and produce store with unique finds and great baked goods.

I was traveling from Vermont to Albany. Apologies. I dug right in before taking pictures. This place is a farm stand with a vibe--an area for food, a bakery, and a market. I had a chef salad with chunks of turkey breast, salami, ham, and Swiss and American cheese. I had to take half home with me; Lentil soup was my winner! Hot and full of lentils and veggies. Hubby had the Rueben, which came with chips, and finished his meal with a glazed donut. The coffee was perfect! I definitely will return!

Saw a sign off the freeway for a cider mill, obviously had to stop! About a 10-15 minute detour from the freeway. SOOOOOO WORTH IT! I am picky on my cider mills. One of the best cider doughnuts if not my new favorite and great cider. Not too sweet but still fresh! They also have a full service bakery/cafe. Great area for your kids to burn energy too. They had a Cider Witch for Halloween throwing candy, what a great experience especially for my non verbal son with autism. Everyone was so impressed!

They had to add onto the dining room and it's a nice view

Great breakfast just 15 minutes from Saratoga Springs. I had a short (but WIDE!) stack of blueberry pancakes this morning. Seriously, the pancakes are the size of a dinner plate! My husband had bacon, eggs and cheese on a hard roll, topped off with a Boston cream donut he said was the best he'd ever eaten. All this plus 2 bottomless cups of great coffee for around $20!

What a great country store. It's been in the area for many, many years, but this is the first time…read morethat I've ever visited. Tons of gift items and tchotchkes everywhere plus some really yummy looking baked goods. It took every ounce of my willpower to not indulge in the cider donuts or double chocolate cookies or pumpkin pie or apple fritters...etc. Attached to the adorable country store is an equally adorable café called Lunch Thyme. They only serve lunch as per the name. Locals remember when they had a big breakfast offering back in the day. New owners are running a lovely, clean, fresh and simple menu as of April, 2022. I had a turkey sandwich with a side salad and homemade balsamic vinaigrette. Iced tea was just right and the portions were "normal". Nothing too overstaffed and I really liked the condiments. I tasted the quiche, macaroni, salad and cheddar broccoli soup. Everything is clearly homemade and quite delicious. Friendly service, nice people, good food, chill vibe.

Indeed, upon entering a new restaurant, we ask ourselves: Is it managed by The Wicked? Will they gnash upon us with their teeth? We choose to still take the risk. Will we will be gnashed to tiny pieces, or will we feast upon the fine goods of the earth? So, of course, this was the concern to be had top of mind upon entering Fo'Castle Farm and proceeding into the depths of Lunch Thyme. Indeed! Lunch Thyme is somewhat within the bowels, or--we might say--the entrails of Fo'Castle Farm, which is not to say that it is walled in and airless like a prison cell. The guest finds an open and welcoming space, a thick leather couch, many screened windows, and the vast smile plastered upon the face of the owner(s). Lunch Thyme welcomes its visitors into its warm and breezy arms. It offers a small but finely chosen selection of items. Quiche lovers, sandwich lovers, salad lovers, and soup lovers alike will find solace in the menu at Lunch Thyme. One can sample a roast beef sandwich on a tender ciabatta roll, a salad with roasted beets, or several juicy and meaty balls on a bread as if it were taken from Italy itself. And the prices. The prices, it may be said, are reasonable for the area: not a bargain per se, but nor does Lunch Thyme greedily tear away visitors' wallets to gorge itself upon their contents. In short, it is reasonable. That is it. That is it indeed. In a word, Lunch Thyme is reasonable.

Wits End in Clifton Park is a really neat, very expansive store. Every time I go in, I feel like I could walk around for an hour and still not see everything. They have all kinds of decorations, and if you are looking for unique Christmas ornaments or special decor pieces, this place is absolutely worth checking out. It is not just seasonal either, there are gifts and decorative items for all times of year. They even carry clothing. The prices are not cheap, but the store has an upscale aura and I personally do not mind paying more for items that feel unique and well chosen. It does not feel like a big box store, it feels more like a specialty shop where you find things you would not see everywhere else. I have heard people say the staff walk around and watch customers closely. Honestly, I can understand why. The layout has to be a security challenge, there are multiple rooms, different levels, and even an upstairs. I would imagine shoplifting could be an issue in a store set up like this. For me, the staff have always been friendly and helpful. I actually wonder how they keep track of where everything is in a place that big, that alone is impressive. Around Christmas time it gets very busy, which says a lot about how popular it is. I usually make it in about once a year during the holidays, but you could shop here anytime for unique gifts. The only thing that feels a little off putting to me is the number of signs about broken ornaments and being charged 50 percent if something is damaged. I do understand why they have them, a lot of people do not watch their kids closely and accidents happen, and adults break things too. Still, seeing the signs all over the place does change the feel a bit. That said, it definitely does not stop me from coming in. Overall, I really enjoy this store and always find something interesting when I visit.

This is the first year that they not only removed the price strip on the ornament tag and replaced it with a higher sticker price, but they also now charge you for the BOX THE ORNAMENT CAME IN. I also noticed they jacked up the price of some of the more affordable jewelry. I like to support local but next year I just will not be able to support this business and will purchase online from somewhere else.
