Dr. Vishual Gandotra I've been going to Dr. Vishual Gandotra for over 20 years. He's an excellent Gastrointestinal doctor who knows how to treat his patients, provide the best medical advice, and maintain the highest level of professionalism. He was also my late mother's doctor for many years, and we were always grateful for his care and compassion. I honestly don't know what we would have done without him. His staff is competent and willfully to work with you regarding your appointment. I truly hope I never have to see anyone else--no one can measure up to Dr. Gandotra. read more

Tried to get appointment with this doctor. Two people front office, could not understand a thing they said, heavy accent, talked fast, and I kept apologizing for not understanding them, not them apologizing to me, which it should have been. Got a third person that was supposed to check my insurance for no referral. Got a voicemail, listened "five" times, could not understand, finally realized they said you need a referral. Talked to Aetna, I don't need a referral and they agreed with me that apparently no one from that office checked my insurance, just decided to say that I needed a referral so they didn't have to bother checking. If you hire front office people dealing with patients, how about hiring people without the thick accent that a new patient can understand. It was ridiculous the time I wasted with this place. Very disappointed since my primary suggested this doctor. Apparently they don't need any new patients and don't care. So glad I canceled my appointment with this practice. I will also tell my primary to not recommend his practice. Called another doctor's office and wthin two minutes, got an appointment, checked my insurance for no referral and done, no problem. The new doctor is Dr. Sang Lee. So happy. Should have hung up on the first office immediately, but happy with my new doctor and sorry I wasted so much time on this disrespectful staff and the way I was treated! read more

You couldn't get more incompetent than this office. From confirming they have received your referral to having you show up, only to let you know... jokes on you we didn't actually get your referral. They claim they "called" to let my husband know they couldn't verify the referral. Although in their portal they stated "we received your referral let's make an appointment". Does any of this make sense??? To top it off they want to play the blame game. "Oh we use a third party to confirm". What? Terrible, extremely terrible. Wasting patient's time and money. It's already booked so far out. I do not recommend this mill of an office to anyone. read more

Dr. Gandotra is the best he took great care of Yoli Bennato. He was wonderful throughout her procedure she would highly recommend him.

Dr. Gandotra was supposed to perform my double procedure last month but I had to walk out the morning of the procedure. After more than a month and a half of trying to get the estimated cost of the procedures in writing, so I could submit for a 401k withdrawal to pay for the procedures, both Vegas Gastroenterology and Valley View surgery center refused to provide me with a proposed treatment plan. I never once even got to meet with the doctor, only with the nurse practitioner. Never trust any business that wont put an estimated cost in writing. If I can get a quote in writing before a contractor works on my roof I should be able to get one before a Dr. probes my body. After I walked out I received a call from their office the next day asking why I didn't show up. I explained that I was there and left because they refused to give me a total in writing, the caller told me she would have to call me back and hung up. I ended up finding a different Dr. to perform my EGD as Vegas Gastroenterology will not respond to my phone calls or Klara messages. read more

I initially had a really bad experience with the Nurse Practioner, Erick Cartaya Aguilar. I actually walked out of the clinic mid appointment because that NP was so rude and condescending. After that I saw Dr. Gandotra several times. This review is for Dr. Gandotra and his office staff. Dr. Gandotra is terrific. He explains everything and is very polite. He even did an endoscopy on me. His staff, though they sometimes might not seem like the friendliest, DO THEIR JOB. I've never had an issue communicating with them. I've never had a voicemail not get returned, which if you live in this town and have been to any other medical clinic, is unheard of. When I establish care with a provider I want a competent physician and a competent staff who doesn't ignore me when I need something. Dr. Gandotra and his staff are that. If you need GI care I would recommend Dr. Gandotra because this place gets the job done. read more

So amongst the hundreds of Yelp reviews I have written, there are a few that I feel carry a bit more weight than a trendy restaurant, a hip nightclub, the fun new cocktail lounge or a gem of a small bookstore. Not to diminish the importance of these Yelp spots, but none of them have the potential opportunity to actually vastly change your health trajectory, improve your health or potentially save your life. (OK, to be completely honest, there are days that the cocktail lounge does improve my "mental" life, maybe not my "physical" life!). Did you know that in 2022, due to rising cases of colon cancer in younger people, the screening age has dropped from 50 to 45 years of age! Dr. Vishal Gandotra and his college Dr. Tan clearly run a very high volume practice. Anyone who is shocked by this phenomenon in health care regardless of the service you seek is clearly new to healthcare in the US and maybe new to the planet. It is what it is. So I would say like many healthcare offices, it is best to manage your expectations before you even pick up that phone or walk in the front door. Having done a little research and also talking to my general physician, I knew that Dr. Gandotra was a good, well liked physician trusted by his patients. Any negative reviews or comments are in regards mostly to his office and general complaints surrounding a high volume practice. Sometimes you have to be patient and swim the admin juggernaut of a high volume practice in order to get to the good physician who you know will be excellent in their care of you. Do you really want to see a Gastroenterologist that can "get you in tomorrow" and does not see that many patients? Or one that sees a lot and thus has a breadth of knowledge associated with a life of practice in his field? His office is located in what one might say is a moderately questionable area of town in what appears to be a very old business complex (2nd floor). His waiting room is pretty packed the two times I was there. The furnishings are meager and there is nothing warm, fuzzy or welcoming about the physical lobby space. The staff behind the desk are clearly working their best managing patients, high call volume and lobby guests all with a bit of a smile. They were fine and I think they are doing their best and were efficient. I say don't judge the book by its cover. Once I was called back, the actual exam room hallway and setup are also meager, cramped and a bit dated. It is what it is. Do you want a good doctor or a doctor's office that is plush? Despite meager surroundings, everything is absolutely clean! There is an interactive computer board that you can look up all sorts of medical stuff located in his exam rooms that my nerdy self found a bit entertaining while I was waiting. But fast forward to the delicate conversation of gastroenterology and colonoscopies (words on Yelp not often mixed amongst words like food, flowers, puppies....all things that conjure up positive images). Dr. Gandotra himself I only actually met like a minute the first time before I was under anesthesia a month ago for a colonoscopy. But for my follow up appointment to that procedure, I had an appointment and a one-on-one with him (I spoke and saw his APRN Thelma on my initial consult, not him and she was fine). Dr. Gandotra when I met him albeit briefly before the procedure and during this follow up, is worth the hassle of navigating and having patience for his high volume practice and the flaws that come with that. He is patient, calm and kind and explains things with a clarity and gentle tone that makes me feel very confident in his expertise and professionalism. He is quick to explain complicated topics and also inquire my understanding of what he was explaining and showing me. He was open to my questions and repeatedly asked if I had more questions. He was not rushing, he was not in a hurry and took his time. I felt respected as a patient and as a person. I feel very confident in his qualifications and feel he is making good decisions with my health. Now to get this same experience, you yourself might be in his meager lobby and already delayed and waiting past your appointment time and fired up that things are running behind. As I said before, it is what it is.... manage your expectations. You too will eventually get to Dr. Gandotra and you will understand why he is worth the hassle. read more

I also cross posted this on Google reviews. My experience is below: Trying to find a decent Gastro Dr. in Las Vegas is proving to be very difficult. I just called this office to ask questions about obtaining care for my husband who's experiencing bleeding. Since Dr. Vishal Gandotra appears to have great reviews I decided to call. The person I spoke with (Front office staff) was very short on the phone, answered my questions in one word answers and didn't seem like she wanted to even be bothered. It also didn't help that she had me on speaker phone so I could barely hear what she was saying. Her overall tone lacked empathy and when I said thank you before ending the call, she barely acknowledged the courtesy. Please look into the attitude of your staff towards possible new patients. No one expects this level of hostility during a serious health crisis. It's exhausting dealing with these people in customer service positions who hate their jobs. No one is asking you to jump for joy when you take a call, but at least be courteous and polite at the very least. This was your career choice. Customers didn't force you into the role you signed up for. read more

Sadly I have to see multiple specialists for my health. Dr. Gandotra office is centrally located, and on time. My appointment time was 2:50 and before 3:00 p.m. I was called back. The front office staff and nurses have been helpful and courteous. read more

Vegas Gastroenterology somehow has a partnership or a link with a company in Tennesse called MyCare Coordinator , This is one of many so called consulting companies that purport to help you by monitoring your health monthly. They are quasi legal. They cost money. If you are contacted by them decline any services. Sometimes they claim that they go over your medicine and monitor you and Medicaid and Medicare will pay them you only own a small amount of money. Your doctor should be doing this not these outside agencies. I have already complained to the feds about being contacted by them . read more

Dr. Gandotra is knowledgeable and has great bedside manner. He took the time to answer my many questions and went out of the way to ensure my insurance would cover a costly prescription. His office staff are courteous and efficient. Overall, it took roughly an hour for each of my appointments. An acquaintance told me of a similar experience of her gastroenterologist going above and beyond during their office visit. When asking who her doctor was, I was not at all surprised that she had also seen Dr. Gandotra. We need more doctors like him here in Vegas Valley. read more

Anyone who has had to prep for a colonoscopy knows how terrible that is. I had one scheduled along with an upper GI for today. I arrive 30 minutes early to check in and told to sit in the waiting area. Starving and weakened from blood loss and the effects of the bowel prep, I look at the time and it's a solid hour past my scheduled appointment. I ask how much longer it might be and they tell me they don't know because there are other patients still ahead of me...for.a.scheduled.procedure! Couldn't take it another minute and Ubered home. Worst medical related experience I've ever had. A gastroenterologist knows full well the physical and mental stress this procedure has on patients and this is how you treat them? On February 2nd I had a colonoscopy. In this medical center, my polyps were removed, but after the procedure bleeding began, which I informed the center staff about by phone a day later. They assured me that this was normal and would pass soon. A couple of days later I called them again to report that the bleeding was not stopping and received the same answer. On February 9, I felt that I could not stand on my feet and was losing coordination. I asked my daughter to call the clinic and report that the bleeding is not stopping, and I am getting worse and worse. On the first call they told me that they were switching to a specialist, but the phone did not answer. On the second call no one answered the phone. As I began to lose consciousness, I asked my daughter to call 911. They carried me out of the house unconscious. 911 paramedics and the staff at SUMMERLIN HOSPITAL saved my life after undergoing a colonoscopy at VEGAS GASTROENTEROLOGY. read more

Update: come back for results & these people throw me in the room in the back & have me wait for my dr who never showed up. I have no idea who I saw, I waited 40 mins, they forgot all about me. I just can't say enough bad about this place I'm never suggesting this place to anyone. They violate hippa in the hallways when you're waiting in your room. This place honestly should not be running. Extremely dirty. The finger monitor I had one me was dirty stick & had some crumb build up in it. For making everyone wear masks you'd think you'd you'd be more clean as a business to stop spread right? Absolutely not. The dr I did see, didn't introduce himself. He was nice. So there's nothing I have against him. But how this business is ran I'm literally disgusted. My doctor who did my procedure was also super awesome. This review is for Dr Gandotra himself. While I realize going through reviews that people have complained about the office--I am neutral about that--the doctor himself is very thorough and friendly. Having dealt with other gastroenterologists in the past I feel that Dr is an utmost professional. He covered each area about my colonoscopy and endoscopy so that when I left I knew how to proceed in the future. My wife was with me and she also was impressed by his bed manners. He, also, had in the room a P.A. who must have learned a lot based on his explanations. If you make an appointment make it FOR the doctor. read more

I had a colonoscopy scheduled in January is April now after I saw the doctor his staff never called my pharmacy for the preparación medication I called like 10 times the front desk will transfer me to his medical assistant and they will never unswered the phone. Left several messages and they never called me back. So I decided to go to the office in person and they told me they had the wrong pharmacy which if they had returned my call I would have given them the right pharmacy's phone number. So Rescheduled my colonoscopy and they scheduled me for 2 months after having all kinds of serious issues I had to wait that long. Then I had my procedure I call the office right after to schedule the 2 weeks appt. For the results and they scheduled me for 2 months and 1/2 and the girl who unswered name Monica was rude she said there are no more openings. Which I understood if they are busy but her attitude was horrible. What comes down to that is Poor management for allowing people like that working in the clinic. Poor Doctor Gandotra he probably doesn't know how bad his staff is making him look. read more

My initial visit with Dr. Gandotra was refreshing he seem like he was genuinely concerned and thoughtful. My follow-up visit with the nurse practicer Thelma was a completely different experience! first I waited 2 hour to be seen with an appointment! She had terrible communication skill and seems to be in a bad mood. Rushed though and was out of the exam room in five minutes, I tried to get her to address some of my concerns to no avail! I was given a referral to see a specialist and had been trying to set up an appointment for a week. The necessary paperwork was never sent. I called the office several times to get the matter resolved! you get a voicemail that states that someone will call you back within 48 hours! needless to say never received a call back! Drove to the office today as I take my health very seriously. The young lady I spoke to had a semi attitude regarding my being upset that the referral had not been sent to the referral doctor and the fact that I never received a return phone call regarding the voicemail massages or that I had to drive to the office to get them to sent the referral so I could make a appointment. I requested a copy of the confirmation sheet and what was being faxed to ensure that it had indeed been faxed because at the point I didn't trust the office. Once I got in my car I began reviewing the documents that were faxed to find that the nurse put somethings in my medical records that I did not say as well lied regarding discussion she stated we hadPer her entry she stated that all questions were answered! They were not, she was in such a hurry she did not answer questions !While I would have been a life long patient of Dr. Gandotra as I feel he is a great doctor I will not be returning due to the nurse practicer and the incompetence of front office staff. read more

Every time my husband ever has an appointment here it's always fully packed with no where to sit. And if your appointment time was at 3:30 guarantee you won't see the doctor for another hour or two. For sure! I think they schedule 20+people at the same appointment time for one doctor. They need to not cram so many people at a time and only take in what they can handle so people can be seen on time. The Dr is great , really nice guy but I just hope they can figure something out cause it's annoying having to wait for so long , even having to wait outside in the summer heat cause there's no chairs available inside. read more

I couldn't even get past the person answering the phone to schedule an appt. She shouldn't be allowed to answer. It was painful just trying to get my name and address across. When you call a doctors office it's important that they convey some level of competence. I felt like I could get better service from a receptionist at a chucky cheese. read more

The waiting room and front desk are a bit by the numbers and not personable, but its very busy here in all fairness. Once inside the Dr and staff are top notch. The VA sent me here and I was lucky to get this Dr. He is the best of the best, with many years experience. He is very busy, but spends whatever time you need to answer all your questions. You can tell his passion for his patients and profession. He listens to all your concerns and even requested an extra test the VA did not order but approved on the Dr. concerns. As a result he found something the VA might have missed if the extra test was not ordered possibly saving my life in the future. Thank you Dr.Vishal Gandotra! Dont let the outside looks of this office make you concerned . He performs procedures at SW medical surgical center an amazing place and I am sure other locations too. 1000% recommend him to say the least! read more

If I could give this office zero stars, I would. I was referred by my primary to Dr. Gandotra's office to deal with constant stomach problems. Below are some of my main problems: 1) The Staff: the nurses/admin in his office are honestly the rudest I've come across. They keep you on hold for 15 minutes and then have the nerve to argue with you about concerns you have. It was incredibly infuriating and rude. 2) The Process: I wasn't even able to schedule an appointment with Dr. Gandotra face to face; I had to see his PA, who took maybe 5-10 minutes to decide I needed a colonoscopy and endoscopy to properly diagnose things. I've already had both procedures done and it was awful. Plus, this meant that the first time I ever met Dr. Gandotra was right when I was wheeled into the exam room. 3) Surgical Center: The surgical center that I was sent to for my procedures was awful. I waited almost 2.5 hours from my check in time to even get called back for my procedure, and then it was almost another hour before I had the procedure. Plus, that surgical center was packed on my appointment day; the whole thing seemed incredibly sloppy. 4) The Office: The office on Charleston is awful. Looks shabby and dilapidated, plus there's so little room in there that you're practically sitting on your neighbor's lap. Overall, my experience with Dr. Gandotra was awful. I wish I had just gone back to California to have my procedure, but I had work complications that kept me in Vegas. Do yourself a favor and look at other offices in Vegas to have your procedure. I feel like I never got any answers about my condition and I left feeling even worse than before. 0/10 rating for me DO NOT GO. read more

I risked my health today for 40 minutes (I was never called in) in a packed waiting room with at least 30 people. The chairs are only inches apart. The mask mandate is not enforced. A child was maskless. Too many of the adults were wearing masks under their nose and one had his mask covering his chin. Risking your health to see a doctor is counter productive, to say the least. But money rules. Your health is not important to this practice. read more

Dr Gandotra is an excellent physician. I was referred by my pcp and it's probably the best referral I ever received. He had done several colonoscopies for me. He is just stellar. He also treated my Hep C and it is completely gone. I can't give any more stars. read more
