I scheduled the appointment and two weeks later the procedure was done. Rings were found in my throat that suggested that I was allergic to something I was eating. Esophaglitis was the medical term. Fast forward, I found out from my allergists that I was allergic to dairy. Finding out about this explained a few problems I have had throughout my life. Based on what I am reading Dr Kwok does not care about his patients I have gone to him for the past 10 years! He's an amazing doctor. But his front end office staff is a mess. They do not return calls in a timely manner The voice message on the benefits line says to call extension 203 and then a couple of sentences later she says now make sure you hit extension 235! Fn crazy!! Crazy they do not return calls! Look at the other comments from people who have the same complaint! I have been seeing Dr. Burnette for several years. I find it easy to book an appointment within a reasonable amount of time. I keep a very tight watch on my own health because I have some issues. I look everything up! I have found that the treatment and advice I have been given is valid and backed up by current research. Dr. Burnette is always pleasant and I never feel rushed. I like that the facility for colonoscopy, endoscopy , etc is in the same building. My tests have always been on time and the staff is very nice. I had an unpleasant experience with the previous Doctor who sent me to a facility that felt like a clearing house for an intestinal test. I waited for several hours past my appointment time amongst 30 or 40 other people that were waiting. My experience with this office and Dr. Burnette has been great ....and nothing like that! I have TriCare as my insurance and I would have liked to be seen at Nellis but since I am a dependent, I was referred outside. I chose to see Dr Brent Burnette and I was very happy. He seemed very nice and patient and most of the staff seemed happy with their job and iT shows. I just had routine colonoscopy and endoscopy and most of the staff demonstrated their caring attitude to me as a patient. Special mention are Christine, Jenny nurses and Cici the anesthesiologist. I was not too happy with the receptionist from the clinic upstairs to downstairs- they sounded like robots I will include the lady in the discharge area who made me wait so long as she finished her phone call and robotically explained the paperwork to me. I came in to address what I thought was a relatively mild health concern; two visits and one colonoscopy later, Dr. Vickers figured out that the ongoing stomach issues/joint pain I'd had for years were actually symptoms of untreated Crohn's disease! He's set me on a treatment plan and I'm already seeing improvement. (In the past other doctors had suggested that I get a colonoscopy, but only Dr. Vickers was able to actually convince me to get one. It helps that he performs the procedure himself, and that the prep he requires is slightly less gross than at other practices--you won't have to drink that white chalky solution that people always complain about, just a whole bottle of Miralax mixed with the Gatorade flavor of your choosing.) Side note, but I also love that this practice has several (at least four?) single-occupancy restrooms with mood lighting and nice, thick toilet paper. None of the one-ply stuff that you see in most public bathrooms. Goes to show that they know who their clientele is, lol. read more

I called on Monday and they scheduled me the very next day. I was examined and a plan of care was created that day! I saw Madison. She's one of the PAs. I highly recommend seeing her. She is one of the most efficient medical professionals I've encountered in the Las Vegas area. My husband Peter's new Hematologist/Oncologist found that he was bleeding internally and needed a colonoscopy and upper endoscopy asap. This doctor immediately referred Peter to Dr. Frank Nemec. Since we didn't know either doctor, we were quite apprehensive and uneasy but also, Peter never had nor wanted a colonoscopy, especially now at 80. Living in So CA for decades, our medical care came from UCLA only. This was so very scary. So at 11a on Thu, a referral was sent to Dr. Nemec's office and two hours later, Peter had an appointment scheduled for the next day. Dr.'s entire staff was so professional, nice, and caring. We were pleasantly shocked. After a very brief wait, Dr. Nemec came into the room with his assistant and his amazing energy embraced us. I am still in awe of how he 'knew' everything about my husband's case (without referring to notes or a computer). His calming, nurturing presence made us both feel totally at ease immediately. It felt as though we were having a chat with our good friend. Dr. N.'s 'chairside manner' instantly turned our fear and trepidation into assured eagerness to get the procedures done. After an easy-to-comprehend explanation of what was to come, Dr. walked us out to the scheduling desk. As I wheeled Peter to the car I said, "Where did HE come from? Peter, I feel so at ease and confident with Dr. Nemec. Matter of fact, I may schedule my first colonoscopy." Peter felt as if a looming black cloud had passed. Prior to procedure day, I called the office twice with questions and Andriana, who answered the phone, knew most of the answers right away and put me on hold to check one bit. She was so kind, patient, and definitely knowledgeable. She really cares. At the Ambulatory Surgery Center of So NV on procedure day, we were nervous in unknown territory. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly with a smile and check-in was seamless. Again, simply great energy. Peter didn't feel as if he was just a number and we both really felt all would be OK. When Jenny, Peter's nurse came to take us back, she was so calming, cordial, and nice. We then met Sissy, the Anesthesiologist who was extremely professional and so friendly. All was explained and quickly Peter was wheeled away. Shortly thereafter, a nurse came to take me back to Recovery. All went very well and Peter's aftercare was very attentive. Very soon, Dr. Nemec came in to our cubicle and explained his findings and very patiently answered all our questions. Both Peter and I expressed our heartfelt gratitude to him. Two days later, I called with a question and Nurse Kelly, who was on top of everything, went out of her way to assist me in such an understanding manner. Dr.'s entire, cohesive TEAM truly love their jobs and care about their patients. We believe that comes directly from the top. Though scheduling my procedures and having them cancelled due to their error was very frustrating, I eventually got a call several weeks later when they found a facility that the Doctor could perform my procedures at. I had already given up and made a consult with another doctor so I was extremely happy to get to stay with Dr Vickers. I do not recommend Dr. Dhir. I asked for a doctor's note regarding a reasonable accomodation request under the Americans with Disability Act. He doesn't have any basic understanding of ADA, and he was not willing to listen and learn more about my symptoms. He was rude all along the appointment and not easy to speak with. After unpleasant interactions with him, he finally said I could pick up a doctor's note "tomorrow." But, I went there again to pick the doctor's note next day, and there were no notes for me. A week after that, I received a phone call from another employee saying that he can't issue any notes. His behavior was very patronizing and discriminatory. Such a complete waste of time and money. Switched to seeing Dr. Dhir after having a bad experience with another GI and he's been a great experience the past few months. He's very professional, knowledgeable, and is always sure I do not leave the office with unanswered questions. I found their surgery center to be more comfortable than the last one I was in, they move at a slower pace and seem to have empathy for the people in there. Even though they say the same thing likely dozens of times a day to different patient before getting a procedure, it always seemed they were saying it for the first time when I was waiting for mine and could overhear them with other patients. They treat people like individuals and not just numbers which I really appreciate when having to be in a surgery center. They have great care for their patients. read more

Somehow my reviews from this Gastroenterology Associates are being deleted. I don't know how this is possible. Dr. Travis Vickers performed a colonoscopy on me which is in question. Somehow, his office manager or other staff members never had the decency to return my stool results to me after numerous calls. I later found out through Quest Diagnostic that my stool results were 974. The normal range is 50-120. When I mentioned that I would go on social media the dr Travis Vickers refused to discuss those findings. He not the doctor that is noted for caring for patients on the website. Answering service with long wait. Nobody Home! I had an 8 am appt. at GA, 3820 S. Hualapai Way, LV, NV. I looked up the place online as soon as I got the appointment. I made google maps printouts so, I could keep 'exit 23' next to me to remind me where to get off HWY 215. I arrived thirty minutes early. Parking lot was completely empty. Lettering was removed from the building and the front door was locked. "For Lease" sign on the door and nothing to declare I was at Gastroenterology Associates. I sat out in my car for thirty minutes. At 8:03 am, I called the number provided 702-796-0231, and reached an answering service automated answering machine that put me on hold for five minutes. When someone answered the phone I explained my situation. Without telling me, they transferred me to another line and I waited for the call to be pickuped up (again). Again, I explained my situation. They didn't have my name in their system. They didn't know who I was. I told them I waited outside their office for thirty minutes and the parking lot is empty. I told them I had several automated calls reminding me of the appointment. I gave them the address I got on line. She said they moved (Who Knew?)". By this time it was 8:30 am. She gave me the new address which was off Tropicana and no where near where I was. Her directions were confusing. I told them to cancel my appointment. I was referred by the VA Choice Program (to put the VA out of business). Obviously, GA was the lowest bidder on this government contract. read more

My wife change her appointment twice because she was looking for coverage for her work so when she called the third time, the scheduler got mad at her and said just call them back if she already gets a day off. That's why my wife is calling them up to finally schedule her appointment because she found coverage and I'm also off from work to drive her to and from her procedure, but the SCHEDULER was soooo Rude. I found the new office very efficient and was seen before I had time to fill out my paperwork, Dr Burnett is friendly and pleasant he had me set up the next week for a EGD and I see him this coming Tuesday mind you my procedure was done the day before Thanksgiving. Very upset with the office department. They just called me a child because I do not know all the ins and outs of a referral. How am I suppose to know what they know? They don't know what I know. I guess I should start calling them a child for not knowing how to replace a motherboard or fix software on a computer. Here's the details. I called for an appointment but the doctor on the referral paper no longer works there. I asked if that will be an issue and if I should talk to my doctor. I was told by the person on the phone that it is fine and to not worry about it because they have a doctor in network on my insurance. So I went to my appointment. I even told my doctor about it anyway since I has to see her before my gastro appointment. She said don't worry about it because they gave me an appointment. Fast forward and now I am told to magically know that the person on the phone, who deals with appointments as part of their job, was wrong. Now they want to say they can't ask my insurance to pay their part of the appointment. Make sure there is a tax ID# on your referral. Apparently that is a thing now??? Maybe it is a west coast thing. But if so, then the doctors office should know that and have it on the referral for their specialists. Oh yeah and they are doing me a favor by accepting my insurance. Thank goodness she cut me off by saying she'll do some leg work herself and talk to Aetna. Because I was about to tell her that I am perfectly fine with not coming here. I grew up in the military, I have NO problems going somewhere else. How condescending! So far it sounds like my insurance knows what they are doing and will process it properly after the mixup was cleared up. but we'll see. So this is a warning to anyone coming here. Get everything in writing and ask a million questions like you are going to work there yourself. Like it is the job you always wanted. Get those answers in writing and then talk to your insurance to make sure the answers you got are right before calling them back to make an appointment. Some people have great experience, some people don't. Unfortunately, I didn't, to the point where on the day of a procedure, I cancelled and decided to find another provider. I was originally told, when I saw Dr. Burnette, that I would be called on the Wednesday before my procedure for my co-pay amounts. By Friday I had not received a call for a Tuesday appointment, so I called them. Thirty minutes on hold later, I was first told that I would be called Monday (when I was already in prep with laxatives). After 10 minutes, I was told they would not collect anything. My instruction sheet had at least one typo and very poor grammar -- it did not give me confidence. Then I got an automated call, telling me to come 1 hour before my procedure time of 11am. When I later checked my paperwork, the only time on there was 10am as an arrival time. So I thought I needed to come at 9am. When I showed up at Ambulatory Surgery Center (same building and owned by the same people at the practice). I was told I was an hour early. The folks at ABS downstairs said that they get this a lot, while the folks from the practice upstairs said I was the first. Obviously there is no communication going on. While I understand that these are two separate businesses, any overpayment to ASC goes to the practice (this is spelled out in the documents I have). The problem is that they don't act like one operation. There seems to be no communication between the two staffs, and relying solely on a computer for scheduling does not help. For example, the ASC told us that the doctor was not in. Technically that's true, he was upstairs in the practice. If you are going to have two companies interact the way the doctors want them to (so they can get the facility fee as well as the doctor fee), they need to work a lot harder on inter-company and patient communications. I don't know the quality of care, as I didn't go that far, but I can tell you that you should pay attention carefully to what both companies tell you. read more
