I was traveling from out of town, but forgot by contact lens at home. I can't see without them. The Vision Clinic generously and graciously was able to let me drop by last minute and pickup sample lens to buy me through my trip. I cannot recommend this clinic. I made appt. for a refraction. I did not get a copy of my RX so I went back 3 days later to get one. I was told I have to make an appt for a refraction. I said I was just here a few days ago for a refraction. Why do I need another appt? I was surprised when I learned I didn't get a refraction at that appt. Dr. Edwards found a syst in my macula. I still need glasses regardless. How am I suppose to see in the meantime? They offered me another appt. in 3 months with another charge. Still no glasses. Something tells me that if I make an appointment for a refraction, I should either get the exam or tell me I need to wait 3 more months to see. Unbelievable!! read more

Impossible to get on phone on hold for 20 mins at 945am no 1 in queue. I was a little upset at having to wait one in line at beginning of business. Then they were upset and rude I was upset. Called fri for second time left requests for call back never a return call. First set of glasses had double vision was told to wear for a week. I see the glasses department said that to another patient? DOUBLE VISION do you know what your liability are if I did then had an accident. My husband spent $300 for a pair of glasses (after insurance), and they were totally useless for him. He made 5 visits to the clinic to get them corrected, but finally gave up. They kept telling him to just wear them until he gets use to them. Really? He is suppose to let his eyes adapt to glasses that make his ability to see worse? Isn't the whole purpose of getting new glasses so that you can see clearly? And not for the patient to adapt to poorly made glasses? They are suppose to make the glasses to work with a persons personal vision, and not make glasses that are outside of their vision needs with hopes that they will adapt to them! He had to go back to wearing his old glasses from Walmart just to be able to see correctly. Very disappointed that they could not get them right. 05/18/21 update: Manager Tracy asked my husband to call her to explain the problem. Her only answer to him was that she would make sure that their is additional training in the future so that this does not happen again to someone else. And had he contacted her earlier, they might have been able to do something for him. Really? Isn't it the Manager's job to know what is going on around her, and shouldn't she have realized that there was a problem after 5 visits? Very poor treatment from a manager! If you are just looking for people that are nice and polite, then this is the place for you. But if you are concerned about having proper vision after getting your new glasses, you might want to look elsewhere. Especially if you have bifocals. They do not seem to understand at this location how critical the bifocal line position can be to properly fitted glasses. read more

We would like to give a big shout out to Jeff for his expertise in fixing my wife's glasses. We are visiting from Michigan for a reunion with my unit from Vietnam. My wife's bridge broke on her glasses and she cannot see very well without them. Jeff was able to cobble her glasses with some extra parts he had available. They were able to get her prescription faxed over to them and gave her a set of contacts to help her out. This was the 2nd time I have been to this clinic since it was sold from Drs Tom Morrison and Steven Bartholew. I'll never go back again. The first time I went was to pick up my glasses right after Vision Clinic took over. The gal in the optics area was rude, short, and all-but hateful. I just took it that she was having a rough day and let it go. I told myself under my breath I'd never come back, but there I was today because my daughter needed to see an eye doc and so did I. Mistake The wait was horrific, but it gave me time to call around to find other eye docs who would take my daughter's insurance because NOW they don't since the change over. As I was completing my call I was called back and explained I had about 60 seconds to finalize the appt for my daughter and I'd be ready. Not unreasonable considering we were sitting in the waiting room for over an hour. The gal got up, said 'well then maybe I should just go get another patient' as if to bully me into terminating a nearly completed phone call. I'm 64 yrs old, I'd seen this attitude when I was here the previous time under the new ownership, and I wasn't going to be bullied/coerced when my daughter needed this appt and few docs were now taking her insurance. She huffed, got up, went and got another patient, and just left me there. It took less time to finish the phone call then her to go to the waiting room and get another patient. This was purely her attempt to 'put me in my place' Had this been the first time I was treated with a rude attitude, I'd have marked it off to, as I had in the first, a bad day, but I am a trained albeit retired, psychologist and I recognize someone acting 'uppity' to me when I see it. So here is the deal... IF you are a CASH PAY or have BCBS or United or some premium insurance, you'll probably be treated better; if you have Medicare (as I do), or Missouri Care (as my daughter does) - go to Springfield where there are docs who appreciate their patients regardless to how they pay for their services. read more

I went to the vision clinic looking to buy a pair of glasses. when i came in the staff did not even acknowledge I was there. I waited forever by the frames and eventually had to go talk to someone to get help. The help never came. I looked for frames for a long time but eventually left and found a better vision place just down the road that is much cheaper too. Not impressed by this place at all. Everyone here was really nice. They have the latest equipment so no 'puffs' in the eye to do a measurement and blood pressure "cuff" goes on your wrist! Dr. Jordan is very personable and for the first time answering 'this' or 'that' :-) wasn't tiresome. The office is attractive and very clean.
