I called once on the phone and accidently called her by her first name, and she rudely corrected me saying " I am a doctor, don't call me by my first name! Then she ripped me off for $2,000.00. She could not get my progressive lens prescription right. She tried three times ordering three different lenses and none of them worked. She said she couldn't refund my money ($1,000.00). I asked her for my original lenses back at least and she said she threw them out (another $1,000.00 lost). When I told her how disappointed I was about the bad service, she said "I can't believe your talking to me like this, I'm a doctor!" Her mother was in the office doing all the cleaning up and answering the phone calls. Do not use this optometrist!

They have a fashion forward selection of frames, and the optical assistants will definitely help you to select a frame and offer advice on what looks best. (They wear a variety of fashionable frames themselves, which I think is a good sign!) They are also good at explaining certain technical details about what frames work and don't work for certain types of prescriptions. Also, I had a small problem with a lens in the glasses, and they were very helpful with troubleshooting it and correcting it. Note: Ocean Optical doesn't take VSP insurance, but I think they will help you to meet your price-point.

We are really lucky to have Cape Ann Eye Specialists right here at home.

Once you are seen by the assistant and they put drops in your eyes, it's another 35 minutes sitting in a hallway not being able to see. They then take you in. At the place I gratefully have switched to, I have never waited more than 3 minutes to be seen. I also found out that the drops to dilate ones eyes work in a few minutes - not over 30 as told that's the time at Gurley's! So happy to have left this practice and so is my husband. It's sad to see lots of elderly people with their caregivers waiting for hours in the waiting room. Seems this org. cares more about $$$ than patients!
