Very happy with their guitar amp repair. They were not reachable via phone, which is unfortunate. But they successfully repaired my Vox AC30 for a reasonable amount with a quick turnaround after I had issues with a local repair place on Ann Arbor. The biggest wait was Vox getting back to us about warranty. Repair took a couple days max from that point. I'll be going back here if I ever need amp servicing again. read more

NO! NO! NO! Will never go there again! Would not recommend! I took my keyboard in for repair after being referred by Guitar Center where I bought it. Was told they were 30 days behind on Nov 9th, I was hoping to get it by Christmas. After nearly 6 months I was told it was ready. Over the 6 months I'd check in periodically by stopping by because they don't answer phone calls. I was told many stories as to why it was not ready. I also witnessed the rudeness to other customers checking on their equipment. Basic professionalism does not exist here and customer care is not a priority. The cost was over twice as much as originally quoted, I just wanted to get my equipment and get out of there. I would have felt better just buying a new one. Guitar Center may need to find a new referral for it's customers before the bad experiences from this place hurt their reputation. read more

Snap, crackle, pop...most definitely not the sounds I want coming out of my amp! Unfortunately, a reverb tank I'd gotten was the causal part of my system. When I would change the volume of on my guitar I'd get this condition. So, after emailing Fender and a trip to Crap-tar Center in Allen Park, Vision Electronics was where they sent me. Vision Electronics is a Fender Authorized repair center. They fix all kinds of other things too--tv's, vcrs, guitar amplifiers, radios, stereos...and sell some other stuff you might need if you're into tinkering w/ electronics. Anyways, I dropped off my Fender reverb unit last Friday and got it back yesterday. I didn't have to pay anything because it was still under warranty. Very disappointed. I was recommended by Guitar Center (which were very friendly, by the way) to go fix my very old vinyl record player. It needed a new needle, and because of how old it is, they (GC) recommended me to VE since they didn't have the needle for it. I go in, it seemed to be legit. Just a small, privately owned business. The man who greeted me was friendly, and we spoke about my player. Then I was to pay a "down payment" if you will, of $35 for them to look at it and such. This was a month ago. Here's where I get pissed. I haven't heard from them since I've dropped it off. I had to call them. ME. The customer. So I called them a week and a half later, since I hadn't heard back from them. They told me that "we haven't gotten to it yet, but we'll get started tomorrow". I was ok with that. Another week and half goes by....still no call from them. So call them and this guy asks me what's the make.. I tell him and his reaction was "Oohh, yea you see it's an old model and we...."...blah blah blah. I asked him why I haven't heard from them in about a month. (The 13th will be a month since its been there) and he said "well there really wasn't anything to tell you".... Wtf!? Basically he tells me they have to order a couple parts. I tell him fine. He calls me back and tells me it'll be $65. I'm pissed. No apology for keeping me, their customer, in the dark an not even a lowering the $65 to maybe $35?? It's bad business. That's all. They agreed to repair my recording deck and after 12 days had not given me a repair estimate or ordered the part until I got the manufacturer on the phone. Yes, the customer is doing their job for them. Then after estimating the job on the front end with parts was going to cost about $150 dollars, they told me it was going to cost $450. I asked for my $50 deposit back and they refused, even though they did no work at all for my troubles. He would not apologize until I asked him to. Steer clear of this Sheister. Oh, he blamed it on his tech that there was a typo on the order. Well, it was never ordered, so just lie to the customer and keep their money. Not the way you treat people-ever!!! read more

I've been going to Vision Electronics for most of my equipment repair in Downriver. Mike the manager has always been helpful with any of the gear that I bring in. I recently had my transformer go bad on one of my turntables, along with a few other parts. Vision Electronics was able to fix the problem and turn it around in a timely manner. I even took one of my subs recently for repair and got it back within a few days. Overall, I've always had a great experience with Vision Electronics. Horrible service. I took my Korg m3 module to this place to get the pads changed. Long story short 3 weeks later with no follow up calls I had to come back to pick it up and still pay a $50 service fee with no service. My item is discontinued, but the place to get new pads was "too expensive" for the manager to buy. every week I called to follow up and calls were never returned to let me know what was going on. When I picked up my module it didn't even look like it had been touched, wiped off or anything. Originally the guy said he would give me a military discount after the repair. Nice way to show your gratitude by making me still pay that $50 without even winking at my item. Thanks buddy. read more

I took my receiver to Vision Electronics in Allen Park to see why it wasn't working correctly, I was told 2 weeks they will let me know something; after two weeks no one notified me or told me anything about what was going on with my receiver. I called and was told they were still working on it; so I waited, and a month later still no call; so I called them to see if there was any progress made and there wasn't. I called and was told they were playing around with it trying different things to see if it would work, and that they have sound, but other things wasn't working. I took my receiver in for a diagnose, not to get fixed because for that I would need to know what's wrong and how much it would cost to get fixed. I told him; I wasn't confident in the work since it's been so long with no contact, and no solution, and the guy got upset and said well we are not going to give a refund of the fee that was paid, and you can pick up your items tomorrow. I feel they have completely destroy my receiver and have absolutely no clue as to what they were doing and how to fix it, and instead of owning that; they opt to just keep a persons item, and not ever contact them concerning the item to give a update to what they were currently doing with the item. I wouldn't recommend anyone taking their item to this place I probably could have went on u-tube and found a solution faster than allowing this company to do work on it. It's really sad you have companies taking advantage of people, and being deceitful to steal money from them. The customer service is very poor instead of re-assuring me that they know what they are doing and that they can fix the item he just got mad, and became very unprofessional. We have a fairly new (less than 18 months) Samsumg LCD television that would not power on. We took the set to Vision Electronics. They charged $100 just to look at it, and it took almost a week just to get an estimate (which turned out to be $500!) We found much better prices by searching local competitors, so we declined to do business with Vision Electronics. When we picked up the televisions, they tried to buy it from us -- for $50.00. This is the 1st time I've taken my equipment to ANY shop to get fixed. I took my JBL 615 powered speaker there. So I take it in and they tell me they will look at it in 3 days (still under warranty), and of course that didn't happen. After 1 1/2 weeks they finally look at it (and I call THEM to see if they looked at it) and they told me the part that was needed was on back order, ok I'm cool with that. Two weeks go by, no call from them, so I call and they say, still haven't received part, and it should be in next week. I'm still cool with that (although I'm mad because they didn't call me to update). 1 month goes by, no part. 6 weeks, no part. now I don't blame them totally, but their communication is TERRIBLE. So they finally get the part in after nearly 2 MONTHS, and its not the right part totally. So they try to do a quick order to get it in within a couple days... that didn't happen and now its been OVER 2 months. They finally make progress by getting JBL to just replace the speaker, and after JBL approves it, I'm happy that I'm getting a replacement, but the PROBLEM now is I'M STILL WAITING ON MY DAMN REPLACEMENT, which has been over 2 weeks and Vision hasn't even called me and NOW they won't answer the phone for the past 2 days! Not even a voicemail can be left. This place is the MOST UNPROFESSIONAL BUSINESS I have ever ran across. I have another speaker to be looked at, but I will never deal with them EVER AGAIN!
