I feel the price for service was very expensive given the work that was done vs the work I requested. There is a $60 fee just to look at the item, then the "total repair fee" minus the $60. The bare minimum of work was done on my unit. And unfortunately I have since learned that I overpaid big time. The cost of my repairs elsewhere comes up at about 50% of what I paid. I finally purchased a higher end Samsung QN95B TV. It has a beautiful picture but during some scenes vibration was coming from one one the speakers. I tweaked the adjustments to no avail. I did some some research and found that this is a known issue. There is a service bulletin on it. I called Samsung and they arranged for a technician from Craig's TV & Electronics Service to come out. Louie was very thorough to confirm what the problem was. He made the proper adjustments in the system that we did not have access to. After the changes were made, we played the same program to confirm that the issue was resolved. Received a call a couple of days later and told it was a power supply issue and that they where not interested in making the repair. I have had two items repaired by this shop, a cd, i pod, radio combo and a 5 cd, cassette player and radio combo. You can tell by the descriptions that these items are old, the latter was purchased more than 30 years ago. I thought both had died and could not be resuscitated. I was wrong. Wanted to charge $400 for the repair of a laptop screen. I paid $400 total for the laptop. Ended with me repairing it myself for $79. $50 deposit was paid to Craig's. Not exactly sure what that was for. Maybe to search on the web the cost of a screen???? Craig's charge was quite exorbitant !!!! A family friend gave me a vintage, once top-of-the-line Sony ES cassette deck for my birthday last year. He explained only the right cassette well was working. Well.... it did work for a few plays, then gave up the ghost too. I really have no need for a cassette deck, but I am in to vintage electronics and this is a nice deck to have in my collection. So, I decided to look into a repair. There are not many Electronics repair places remaining in the Detroit Metro Area, really none near my home. So, I inquired at one of the mainstay repair locations in Roseville. They seemed quite uninterested and said it would be "around $400-500." No thanks. I can buy a new Tascam for that much. So I found Craig's TV & Electronics Service after searching online. I stopped in when I had time and was greeted by Loui. He seemed interested and said he'd take a good look at fixing both cassette wells, and the $50 diagnostic fee would go toward a potential repair. [$50 is VERY reasonable for a bench fee, by the way.] So, I paid up the $50 and gave them a shot. Imagine my surprise when two short days later their secretary called me explaining the deck could indeed be fixed - for just under $175 total. Not too bad! After the repair was completed, I picked up the deck and Loui explained to me what it needed and PLAYED it for me in their store before I took it home. This is the way I feel ALL repairs should be done. Very professional. I am now listening to Tony Bennett as I type this. My Sony deck sounds great and now both wells work as intended. With the nature of electronics repairs, I realize it's not possible to please everyone, but I am super impressed with MY experience at Craig's and I will give them my business with any future electronics repairs I may need, as well as recommend them to others. read more

I called to see if they were capable of repairing electric skateboards and was told over the phone they have repaired them before so I drove 40 mins to have it repaired. We paid the $50 deposit and then nothing. After 3-4 days passed with no contact, I reached out to Craig's TV a little perturbed to say the least and was told it could be the battery which would cost $285 and that still may not fix the issue but another deposit would be needed if we were going to get the repair done. I told them the issue had something to do with the charging port and not the battery. After speaking with Craig, I was told based off of the direction our conversation was going he thought it would be best I come and pick up the electric skateboard and he would refund the initial $50 deposit. I drove another 40 mins, picked up the skateboard and deposit and reached out to the company we bought the electric skateboard. The company asked we pay the $10 shipping fee to ship a new charging port and sent a video on how to replace it. $10 later and $275 cheaper than Craig's TV and ELECTRONIC Repair the electric skateboard has been repaired!!!!!! No help and rude. My tv stopped turning on, it was stick on the tv brand logo screen. When it did this the remote or buttons on the tv did nothing. I would need to unplug it to turn it off. I did some research on my own, and what I found is I may have a bad capacitor, on my main board. I tried to order a new main board, but it is discontinued from the tv manufacture. I called Craig's tv service, and explained this to the man on the phone. Asked if they could fix my main board. I was told sure bring it in, we can replay capacitors. The drive from my house to Craig's is about 35 minuets so over an hour round trip. I take the main board, and power board out of my tv. I bring the boards in to the shop. The man behind the counter was the same person I talked to on the phone. I explained my issue a 2nd time. He barely looks at my boards, tells me noting is wrong with them. Tells me to update my firmware, as I try to ask a question he yells over me "NEXT" to help the next person in line. The next and only person in line was the window washer wanted to be paid, not even a customer. So I make my drive home, and check my firmware, and it is already at the highest level per the manufacture's website. So I begin reaching out to other tv repair people, online in other states. The vary 1st person to respond to my email, tells me he is vary familiar with my TV. He goes on to say the research I did was not wrong, but my main board is different then other TVs made by the same manufacture. He explains there is a "chip" on the main board that goes bad. He continues and tells me he can not repair my board, and does not have a part to sell me. On his advise I fine a repair place that I can send my board to for repair. That is what I do, I mailed my main board out for repair. When it came back, I put the TV back together and look it works... If you cannot help, if you do not want to help, if you do know what it will take to fix an issue. DO NOT WAST MY TIME. If he had just said over the phone, I cannot help you, then I would not even be mad. read more

I have a VCR / 8mm deck in there for repair .only the 8mm tape side had a problem, VCR worked great. I get a call saying it is done great rite !!!. send my brother to pick it up now the VCR side don't work ?. they said that they would look at it see what happened . we never took it from the shop. The technician calls and tells me that the borr is not there and will look at it when he return's I agree. I get another call now they are telling me that they think I am lying about the VCR working and were very rude on the phone when I tried to explain that the VCR was fine. like I am trying to rip them off. the technician said he played a VCR tape when he first got it . this is very unprofessional . I would suggest Abl ,Gibson TV. in Roseville. there is a Abl ON 14 Mile and John R too . I will take my unit there to see if they can fix the damage done by Craig's TV. they are more expensive but they are honest and don't treat you like you are lying to them. read more
