The computers were down, so the glasses selected could not be added then. We were assured that they would enter it's shortly and that the glasses would be here in no time. Weeks passed and still nothing. A phone call to them revealed that's it was nothing in the system. Okay, mistakes happen. They reordered them and again, nothing. We tried calling over the Thanksgiving weekend, but I guess they are also closed on weekends. We finally got in touch with them and they said they had the wrong phone number put in. They opened our file and produce the correct phone number in very clear writing that the original person took. Again, I understand things happen. But they offered no apology and honestly did not seem like it was a big deal. read more

My elderly father and I waited 6 months to have same time same day appointments. We also waited an hour past our appointment times to be seen for eye exams. Although the doctor was very nice and things went smoothly on that part, picking glasses up is a struggle. Hours of operation 8:30-12 and 1:30-4...For an 8am-5pm working person, it's difficult to take time off. I took time out of my working schedule to pick my glasses up after receiving a phone call that they were ready. Once I arrived, I was told my glasses were NOT ready. I am beyond disappointed at this store. Taking time off of work is not easy for me and all I got was "sorry, they're not ready". I spent over $500 on glasses. ordered eyeglasses with progressive lenses & transitions ($150 )9/13/22 .picked up 10 working days later The intermediate part of lenses were not correct i returned them promised they would be sent back to lab for correction At that time stated i did not want the transition tint TOLD i would not be refunded that charge of $150 The glasses were picked up again but lenses were still not corrected I had to dispute charge $944 between my cost and cost with insurance Vision One & Amy are useless read more

We have been clients of Vision One Total Eyecare Center in Port Orange for years. We like the staff and Dr Jalene Haynes has always been great to us. A couple of weeks ago we went in and my husband was having mobility issues but rather than sending us to another location and delay in appointment date they worked very hard and made the accommodations necessary to see him. Kelly has always been extremely helpful with ordering & fitting glasses. Overall we really appreciate everyone at Port Orange and will continue to patronize their location. I had purchased my eye glasses at Walmart several years ago. Recently, the anti-glare coating started gunking up to the point where they were becoming unusable. The optometrist at Walmart couldn't do anything for me ("it happens after so many years") but suggested Vision One. I took the glasses there where they said they would try to take off the coating but couldn't guarantee the result (cost $30). I came back the next day and the glasses were like new. I have been a returning customer here for years. I have always had a wonderful experience. My last visit a few months ago I got an eye exam, and ordered a new pair of glasses. I also had them order me a pair of polarized prescription lenses for my pair of costas. Kelly in optical has always done an excellent job in assisting me with whatever I needed. After a month I had a manufacturer defect and they took care of it right away and replaced them free of charge. I would definitely recommend to a friend and will continue to be a returning customer. read more

I have had nothing but issues with the staff at the Port Orange location of Vision One. They do not book apt. a year out and do not send reminders, needless to say by the time you call for an apt. it gets pushed months out. I was called and told my contact lenses were ready to pick up and when I got there no one knew what I was talking about and I was told to come back after 1 and when I did they still could not find my contact lenses. I had to come back another day, so 3 trips in all, and it happened on more than one occasion. I tried to call them for an apt for 2 1/2 hrs got nothing but a busy signal, so went to the office. I explained that I was having problems seeing at night and needed to make an apt. I was told I could not be seen until after April, since that's when I was last seen. I again tried to explain that I was having problems with night vision. Another woman came over and I explained this YET again, only to be told that I "didn't need to get upset". I replied that I was not upset and was just trying to explain the situation. I did not raise my voice or use inflammatory language. I was told I needed to leave, which I did. I have never had this type of issue with the Daytona office, but it's a constant in the Port Orange office. Needless to say, I will NEVER set foot in their office again. read more

Terry was lovely and seemed like she wanted to help but I chose 2 pairs of glasses and asked the staff's opinion on which one looked better. I changed my mind and wanted to see the other pair before making it final and they "disappeared". We're thinking because they were less expensive. My husband had put them back and when we went to look for them - POOF! Just gone! So, we walked out. No one even tried to stop us. Very shady goings on there. We will never go back! read more

I was really disappointed with my first visit. Everyone was nice; however, very rushed. They weren't behind schedule, and they did not have anyone else in the waiting room when I was taken back. I mentioned something to the doctor that everyone was very quick, and she replied 'We try!'. She took it as a compliment. My antenna was already raised with fingers crossed that my Rx would be correct for my new lenses - since my exam was rushed. I wasn't impressed that the doctor stated it was normal to have to physically move glasses up with one's hands to be able to read (despite having progressive lenses). My mom was a manager in an Eyecare office for 35+ years, and I worked there for several years myself. I have worn progressive lenses for many years, and the only time I had to do such a thing was when it was time for a check up and new Rx. In the optical area, patients quickly were picking out frames without staff assist. There was a patient not happy with her prescription, and the tech was very good at explaining the necessary adjustment period. When I went back to pick up my glasses, 2 other individuals were not happy with their prescriptions. Mine were fine thank goodness. People were told they would make things right within a certain time frame, what a hassle to have to go through that when they might be able to avoid such things if they just slowed things down a bit. I knew I wouldn't be back, and I cancelled my 91 yr old mom's appointment. I knew she would need things to be slower paced - and I would have concerns that her glaucoma pressure checks would be accurate. read more

reported them to bbb and they lied on thier response . i waited the week they asked to wait before a refund they told bbb that i wanted it same day i got them . i did tell them then i could not see out of them . came back a week later and they said i need a recheck. got recheck they said nothing wrong. i still can not see out of them. blurry . i think they are lined up wrong they say no but would submit a claim to lab to see if i can get a refund. i never heard back went in again long wait to see someone same story. was told she would submit a claim again. waited again, now the window of return is gone. even if i got refund they want 20 % fee . they are not nice to work with. don't ever get progressive glasses there. they were good with single lens as i got my computer ones there with no problems. they wrote i was confused when it was them not understanding or taking time to listen what i was saying. they told bbb that i was confused on what progressive was . duhh i wore progressive for 30 yrs ! read more

Absolut SCAM. Wife bought one pair for the price quoted for the glasses. Went back to get a second pair as a spare. They agreed to the same price as the original pair. She prepaid again. Upon picking up the second pair they told her she owed $27.00 more because they 'forgot' to figure in something. In addition, they made her pay the added $27.00 on the orginal pair she bought several weeks before because they also 'forgot' to add in that charge on the orginal pair. She is very compliant and paid. This is not even close to being a reputable business. Avoid at all costs. These people need to be out of business as it reflects poorly on their entire profession. The price they quote means nothing if they can scam more later. read more

While the doctor was nice, the receptionist was extremely rude and nasty (although we were unfailingly friendly and polite). We are senior citizens, old enough to be her grandparents, and certainly don't need her lecturing us repeatedly, in a snarky tone, about what time we need to schedule our appointments. As a result, we have cancelled two upcoming appointments. We will find another vision provider. read more

I'm new to the Port Orange area and needed to have my glasses repaired. The left arm had snapped off and they are drill bit frames. I took the glasses in to Vision One and spoke with Kelly regarding the repair. She said that they had to be sent out to the lab and that they would phone me when they were ready. Two weeks later I phoned and was told that the glasses were there however they were not fixed. I picked them up and went on to my office. When I opened them I couldn't believe what had happened. It appears as if they tried to heat the frames to reattach them to the lens. They gold was burned to a brown / copper color and the rhinestones were melted. I immediately phoned back and was told that the lab do not do anything to my glasses and that they would not replace the damaged frame! I paid $795.00 for those frames and now they are trash! I would NOT recommend this place to anyone!!! read more

Did not even make it to office had called to make appt after calling insurance company and told they are on plan. Receptionist was very rude and said that they only did the glasses??? had to have exam elsewhere Are they not optometrists like they said? With the attitude I received on a phone call I could imagine what the entire office is like. I had a better experience with Total vision much nicer on the phone as they should be. read more

My husband and I went to Vision One on 12/29/14 for new patient vision appointments. My husband was told at the end of the appoint that a trial pair of the contacts he was already using (no change in prescription) would be ordered that day and should arrive in the office in 6 working days (they would not just order a box of the left and right contacts). Today (1/9/15) my husband called Vision One and was informed that they had not ordered his trial pair of contacts until today. I went to Vision One to pick up his prescription to take to another vision care provider to place an order for the contacts and asked the Vision One staff person helping me why there had been a delay in ordering his trial pair of contacts. I was told their procedure is to not order boxes of contacts until they have a certain number of orders. New information to us and, certainly, a reason why we will not return to Vision One Port Orange for future vision care. read more

As an 80 year old, widow with serious health issues, on Social Security -- AFTER YEARS OF BEING A LOYAL PATIENT AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT, am being harassed for additional payment of an absorbedly over-priced order -- because, I canceled the item within the limits of the law. Yet, Interesting enough, due to refusal of their over-priced frames the order certainly CANNOT BE COMPLETE. Even so, they are holding my "un-warranted" deposit of $206.30 since August 2012; all due to THEIR ERROR OF NOT utilizing my "popular health insurance plan" in which they received a payment of $65.00 (additional, over my $20.00 co-pay) for the August 2012 eye exam. Ergo, per the insurance claims representative, I ... "should never have been charged". Sadly, I didn't realize this provision was available to me. Even so, have since learned that sun glasses to fit my needs (enhance ill-placed street signs) are not yet available. Should anyone had mention this when my request was made -- I would have said; "THANK YOU"; departed the establishment and this survey would have had a different outcome. Consequently, am now faced with the unorthodox possibility that I won't receive the proper treatment (4 month exams needed) for glaucoma & cataract conditions. WHY NOT GO ELSEWHERE?... Since I must drive to all health care facilities -- it is the nearest eye care center offered under my health insurance plan. Ergo, am hoping for an amicable resolution. read more
