I first met Scott through Chinese Medical school, where he taught Taiji, and soon thereafter began…read morestudying Bagua with him. While most in the Alternative arts and medicine community have incredible hearts and caring personalities, very few have achieved what I would call a high-level of practice, or, "Master" status. It takes a dedicated practice and training with highly qualified teachers (the 2 main factors that are missing in most practitioners'/teachers' backgrounds). Scott has trained intensively (and I'm not talking about a year here or few months there) with the best, and continues to dedicate himself to his practice to this day. Scott's expertise becomes more and more apparent the longer you study with him, as he never shows off his abilities or strains to prove himself. I wish nothing more than for him to get into the ring with one of these "Mixed Martial Arts" fighters, thoroughly kick their ass, and end that nonsense of a sport. Alas, he would never do such a thing. Scott's teaching style is very individualized, meaning everyone gets a lot of attention. He is attuned to the needs and sensitivities of each student, however different they are, and will adjust the lesson accordingly. From young children to older people, he has an enormous range as a teacher and instructor. I am looking forward to when my daughter will be old enough to begin taking kung-fu lessons with him. I recommend reading Scott's reviews for his San Francisco practice as well (don't miss the "filtered" ones), as there are some excellent testimonials of Scott as a teacher.

Where to begin, first of all about me and who I am, I'm 29 years old I've been studying buddhism,…read moremeditation, and body awareness practices steadily since I was about 12. I spent about 4 of those years heavily involved in aikido (w/ Frank Doran-sensei), kenjustsu (kashima shin-ryu) and kyudo (ANKF). More recently I spent about the last 5 years living in China as a full time live-in (gongfu) student of a daoist priest. I have been helping a friend teach some of his classes in the San Francisco area but have so far refrained from making it a personal profession though I have been encouraged to do otherwise. What to say about Scott? Having met various teachers in China, Japan, the US, and even some in South America, I have never met one that held a candle to Scott's mastery of gongfu (kung fu) as a vehicle for self defense, a cultural art form, or a vehicle for spiritual transformation, let alone all of them together or with an understanding of why they all matter and how they relate. I've met a lot of folks who traveled to china to live and train there, sometimes for years. It's really exciting to go to a place where it looks like "just in the movies". The thing about someone like Scott is... he's hard to spot. He doesn't live in a temple. He doesn't wear robes or have a topknot. He doesn't live in China and he's not Chinese. He doesn't even follow certain ritual forms of sounding profound that are standard among such teachers or drop buzzwords. So you typically need to have some background in order to see what he has. If you have a mature appetite for martial arts and want to train with the best, go check him out. If you are just curious and want to see what he's up to or if it's a good fit, he's very approachable and loves to talk about this stuff. If you're looking for cardio-kickboxing or to prove how tough you are to people, you should go somewhere else for that.

Limitless Martial Arts 10/10, will go again…read more If you skip the rest, I want to say one thing: "No Contracts". .. if you've trained in other martial arts, you know that this is a *huge* commit by the staff to your experience and school culture. ---- I've been attending ~3-4x/wk since Dec 2022, Muay Thai & Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes. I'm a middle aged adult in average shape. I've attended a range of martial arts and am a military veteran. Here is what I've seen so far: - The coaches are knowledgeable and experienced. - There is a family culture which is passionate & welcoming. - The emphasis is on student growth. Real-life + schedule pressures are ok. - (culture) The advanced students are about knowledge transfer & don't act threatened or indifferent to new members. Regarding the facility and operations: - Facility is clean and well-maintained. Walk in and notice - no locker room smell. - No contracts! Payment stuff has been no-friction for me. - Uniform requirements are fair and affordable (check out reddit BJJ $$$ horror stories). - My classes are not typically crowded, have experienced more 1:1 attention (accelerating progress). -Rob https://www.facebook.com/thelimitlessofco/

He cried the first day and wouldn't go on the mat. Someone from the team very gently got him to get out there onto the mat. They asked him if he would like to try off to the side and worked with him one on one. They eventually integrated him with the other kids. It was amazing to see his confidence immediately boost and him come out of his shell the way they praised his efforts! The team has been absolutely amazing and are very obviously well trained to deal with neurodivergent kids. My son has really found himself! Another note is my son has a brachial plexus injury on his right shoulder from birth. (Fractured clavicle from delivery) and has to go to physical therapy quite often for it. Taekwondo has been an amazing form of physical therapy for him as it works all the same muscles they are pushing him to work on! Thank you Venture team for such an outstanding experience and for how kindly and respectful your whole team have treated my son!
