Stay away from the Levittown vision world. They are very sloppy . A few times the girls at the desk have messed up. I always let it roll over , however not this time. They are very rude and very argumentative. In the past I questioned do they even know what they are doing. No they don't. I tried to get information on how to get in touch with the owner , so I can let them know what's happening with their business. They gave me an invalid email to email the owner. So I guess I will have to alert more people on yelp . Stay away !!!!!!!! I see why the ratings are so low . I've had my fair share of bad places to get glasses and that is why I drive an hour and a half to this godsend of a store with heartfelt staff that make you feel right at home. The doctor is so caring and professional. And Kayla gives me ALLL my options; every single little option that there is! Which I appreciate to the max with my specific field of work. The place could use some updating but I'm more focused on the people and the final product. The prices are always unbeatable and the glasses are great quality. Every member of the staff here is courteous, attentive, professional and kind. The optometrist was gentle and caring. He allayed my fears and patiently described my condition (normal aging ugh) and suggested helpful ways to adapt and adjust. It was a pleasure to visit Vision World. read more

Edited to add: Just got attacked by the 3 women who work in this store. Came to pick up my son's glasses with my 8 yo and his friend and they chased me out of the store and screamed at me and ganged up on me yelling obscenities. Ironically one even yelled she was 5 months pregnant ??? After I refused to have any conversations as to why I was not going to return. Wow!!!!! This place is horrible. 1 month and the glasses are still not ready: " Ma'am it takes time to make glasses" Ironically the person who makes these glasses every time you go in there is lolly gagging and complaining she has so much work but doing absolutely nothing. If they could get no stars even better. Ironically I reached out to them after not having the glasses for over 3 weeks and they said oh we just noticed the lens is wrong????? What were you doing these last 3 weeks? Wiz eyes takes at most 48- hours to make your glasses. They dropped the ball and couldn't be bothered. When I asked for a discount the "manager" who said there is no one else to speak to, said NO- will never shop there again. Their 1.3 BBB rating speaks volumes. I have been trying to call to get my prescription for weeks and have no gotten an answer. No voicemail set up, phone just rings and rings, no email to use, requested a contact via their website and no response. I understand during the pandemic businesses are struggling to find their new normal, however this is a doctors office and people need their contacts/glasses or at least a prescription to order new online. I also agree with past reviews, the young lady they've hired to run the front has been very rude and condescending the past few visits. read more

Unprofessional and lacking in customer service etiquette. I walked out of the store after the dark haired lady who was assisting me turned her attention to a customer who came into the store after me. It appeared to me that she preferred to assist customers sitting at the counter by the computer, then stand behind the showcases to retrieve glasses. IMO she should have told the other customer to have a seat while she finished up with me. She did apologize when I said I was in a rush and couldn't wait. But that was it! I also expressed my displeasure to the lack of customer service. They lost a regular customer and a sale of 2 pair of eyeglasses which I purchased at Pearle Vision in Massapequa where I received excellent customer service. read more

Zero Stars! The few decent/good opticians that work there probably know that the company really does suck! Poor optometrists ( can't refract you properly), poor products ( crap quality, no repairs on site) , horrible wait times with poor professionalism by greeter staff. And the icing on the cake is now you need a mask again!! For what reason?? Masks don't stop viruses. Follow the science!!! I wish I read the review before I came here. I wish the customer service was much better. I felt like I just got raped by them. I went there cause of my insurance company - big mistake. I paid an extra $250 on top of what my insurance paid and wasn't even told the frames that my daughter picked out were on clearance. Picked them up and the receptionist didn't even bother having someone check my daughter before we walked out the door. Granted my daughter is young and she destroyed and of course the lack of communication in the store is a real winner. I can say this will be the first and last time that I will ever go to this store. Everyone one that works there has such a nasty attitude and have an attitude that the customer needs to be grateful for what they do for the customers but then treat them like some poor sack of shit Next time I'm going to Vision works down the block. I briefly explained that I was shopping around because my insurance changed and I wanted to see what stores had the best deals/options. She was so rude when I told her that I went to cheaper peepers earlier in the day and they had a good deal, that my mom and I left. I am extremely disappointed with the follow up assistance. I understand how Ron z says it's about money. My glasses broke after two months. I brought them in for repair the good Hong is that they were under warranty. After 12 days of not hearing from anyone at the store I went in. I was told oh we're really sorry but you won't have them for weeks. They are in back order until October 11. Nothing we can do sorry. What do you want from us. Interestingly when I was putting out $800 for the glasses they came in a week. Anyone thinking about going there go somewhere where they care about there customers. My daughter has worn glasses for 7 years and we've had issues but we've never been treated won such disrespect or disregard. I made an Yelp account JUST to write this review and share my experience with the great staff at this location. I came early with my mother for our appointments yesterday anticipating the long wait that we've experienced in the past at other eye doctors, and were in and out within 30 minutes. Dr. Bowman was friendly and thorough, and even adjusted my prescription from a different eye doctor for the better. I came in with no intention of getting a new pair of glasses, but a helpful lady behind the counter managed to pick out the perfect pair of glasses for me, and at such a reasonable cost that I couldn't resist. I am heading back to college in a few days and they purposely took note of this so my lens could be fitted quickly that way I could pick up my glasses before heading back. They went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable, help me out, and accommodate me for the short time I spent at Vision World. My mother and I couldn't be happier about this experience, and highly recommend to anyone seeking convenient and quality eye care. I can't wrap my head around some of these reviews, because my experience couldn't have been more opposite. This place is deserving of my first, and probably only Yelp review :) read more

All four members of my family have been using Vision World in Levittown for ten years. No more. While the reviews of the doctor seem accurate and fair, the others are to be avoided at all costs. I literally had to argue to get the benefits that my plan paid them! What was their answer? "Well, we don't have that information and we are glad that you told us." Please... Debbie provided an astonishing array of lies and misinformation including: "Your plan pays $44 for contacts." No, my plan pays $100. "The plan benefit is based upon a year's lens purchase." No, it is based upon a three month purchase. "You must pay the $60 contact lens fitting fee each time you are examined." No, a $50 fitting fee is paid the first time and only the first time a customer is fitted in the store. These lies and (Likely successful with most customers) attempts to increase their bottom line have been brought to the attention of my plan provider. I have requested a review of all benefits paid to this store for my family, and am expecting a refund of improperly charged fitting fees, and all the extra payments I made due to the under crediting of plan payments I was entitled, and which were most likely received by the store. Hmm, let my try to think of a single word to describe this location...oh, I know...DISHONEST! I will be sharing this news with all members of my plan and union. A participating optician should not be allowed to contine such unprofessional and fraudulent practice. UPDATE, Ann at Vision World has now refused service to me, I suppose the result of expecting to receive my full due benefit. "If they can't dishonestly maximize profit per service provided, they would rather not provide service." They are stating that my daughter's Fitting Fee was "Non-Covered " and want to charge for that. Funny thing is the paper they provided as proof shows that they did indeed engage in deceptive practices as my plan covers "$100 for a three month supply of lenses," not $44 for a year as they insisted and the best part is they were charging $60 for the Fitting Fee that the paper they gave me identifies as a $50 out of pocket charge if not covered. Ann told me they love YELP reviews. Just making up numbers. AVOID, and hope they soon will go by the wayside. Doubt Ann and Debbie care since they will be laughing into retirement paid for at the expense of hard working families on Long Island. VERY SELFISH PEOPLE. read more

We had the worst experience. Had an appointment and called because we were running late and was told as long as we get there before 15 minutes after our appointment. We should up 8 minutes after and we filled out paperwork. They have one computer to check the status of members. One rude young lady and one older lady that had very little knowledge. It was kind and sincere. Doctor seemed to be a little old school with very little people skills. Someone was take for and exam that came in after us. I finally had to asked if I we were skipped and the young girl said that we and to be squeezed in because we were late. So when I asked her why did you tell my wife that as long as we were there 15 minutes after our appointment we would be seen. She said oh I didn't say that. She also mentioned that we were just filling a prescription. So then I asked her why would I need an appointment just to fill up description without an exam that she had nothing to say. Left the store and my wife filled out order to get at our pairs of glasses. Round two. We had to go there again so my boys can get their glasses and again the young receptionist totally ignores us and gives us the cold shoulder, helps other people before us. It's not easy finding someone new and we were more than happy with Dr. Bowman's professionalism/friendliness as well as the two friendly/helpful ladies that were working during our visit. They gave me extensive information about my choices and worked closely with my insurance and helped me maximize my FSA spending before the year ended. Overall great experience. read more

I was nervous having to take my 5 yo to an eye dr for the first time. Dr. Bowman put her (and me) right at ease. His bedside manor with my daughter was incredible, she got through the whole exam with no problem! And at one point referred to the situation like some cost-problem, they have to cover themselves, etc etc. I was like, what? I've NEVER heard that before. She seemed nice initially, Debra or something, but seriously, cover yourselves?? You already know what my plan will do, I pay the rest, what are you talking about? Anyway, whatever. I have been a loyal customer of Vision World ever since Dr. Bowman has been there. He was extremely professional and very helpful with my situation. I was having concerns recently about a sudden vision problem and was, to put it mildly, panicked! Dr. Bowman calmed me down and explained to me why I don't need to be upset. Professional and personable, that's a great combination. He then set me up with Pam to help me pick out new frames, I left with two beautiful pairs! Went here for the first time a few weeks ago because I got a Groupon. Dr. Bowman was SOOO nice! I'm glad I didn't look at these comments before I went b/c it may have changed my mind. I have no complaints about the staff I thought they were great I liked them all! Believe me I tortured them all equally too it took me about 100 frames and 2 days before I found the right one. I have recently become fed up with my previous optometry office, and after a recommendation I decided to finally switch over and give Vision World of Levittown a try. I was welcomed with a smiling face as I entered, my wait time was short and Dr. Bowman was extremely thorough and knowledgable about my eye condition. His "bedside" manner was friendly and fun, and he put me at ease immediately. I would refer anyone to the office for the exam alone. In addition, my contact lenses have never been better- I'd been having comfort issues in my old pair, which clearly Dr. Bowman actually heard me say out loud, and found me a new brand that was better for my eyes. The glasses selection was vast- I felt that I had much to choose from and was happy with my selection. I was impressed that not only the desk staff was able and willing to help me, but Dr Bowman stuck around to help too! I am thrilled with my selections... Also, I do not have eye coverage. The office worked with me in any way possible to ensure that I was comfortable with my payment out of pocket. I will never have the need to switch offices again! YAY! read more

I would highly recommend Vision World of Levittown. We as family have been coming here for many years. The staff has Always been helpful and friendly. I can say that in all the years that we have come here, I have never left disappointed with the service. If there were any issues, they were always resolved. My son 15yr recently had a visit to get contacts and I was so nervous. Many thanks and a job well done to ANDREA for the patience and expertise to a teenager just learning how to place contacts on his eyes. I don't recommend going to this place. My husband ordered a pair a new eyeglasses and they told him it would be about a week. After two weeks, no body called so he called to ask if his order was ready. They said the was a problem with one of the lenses and they are waiting for it to get fixed. Another week went by --no one called --He contacted them again, they said they are still waiting. He eventually received his but after two weeks of wearing the frames, one of the arms broke. He didn't bother going back figuring he probably should have picked a stronger frame. A few months later I needed a pair myself and thought to give them another shot. My experience was similar to his. I was promised frames in about one week, after 2 weeks no body called. I contacted them and they said there was a problem with one of the lenses and had to re-order --same story. Well after 5 weeks, still no glasses. I called to cancel and they were supposed to credit my account ---which did not happen so I had to open a claims dispute with my credit card company. With so much competition out there for eye glasses, I recommend to go elsewhere. read more
