On 01/21/26 I went to my scheduled eye exam appointment at Vision-works. I have been a good customer for several years. Two things one should know: First: When I went for my appointment I had no complaints and I just wanted an eye exam to use to purchase my yearly set of glasses. I saw the optometrist who insisted on doing a retinal scan which I did not need. He claimed he saw things on the scan and tried to send to an ophthalmologist that he knew. He wrote on my referral slip that said I had all kinds of vision complaints none of which were true. In retrospect this is not the first time this has happened here. It looks to me like because I have good insurance they are sending me for referrals that I do not need to make money for people that they know. Second: That day my wife also purchased a new pair of glasses. She decide in two days after pick up and wearing the frame that the new glasses did not fit her correctly and because vision-works offers a 100 day exchange policy we returned her glasses and she picked out a new frame. The new frame was priced $50.00 cheeper that the original frame I had purchased. The sales representative refused to refund the $50.00 I was owed and he refused to give me store credit. He said if you exchange a more expensive frame for a cheeper frame they do not refund your money. I believe that I should have been informed of this prior to picking out the new frame. Every year on top of what my insurance pays I spend between $800.00 and $1200.00 on new glasses for myself and my wife. I will never shop at vision-works again. If you do I suggest you beware before punching anything at their Levittown store. read more

I walked into this business on this past Friday. I guess I interrupted the "customer service rep's" personal Conversation. I got a tooth sucking what do you need. Um. A pizza? Glasses!? They ran my insurance for all family members I was there alone. Hmm that's odd right ? Proceed to tell me pick out frames and sit. They will call you. The frames were all so dirty I think they should have someone washing them or at least wiping them down it's gross to put filmy greasy things on your face. I wound up just taking my prescription and walking out. No customer service. No help. I don't want to go somewhere - where I feel like I'm bothering them to do their job. Do your job! So simple. I had the most pleasant experience at Davis Visionworks Levittown location today. I made an appointment online. A link for filling out the intake form in advance was sent immediately, along with instructions for the appointment. When I went in at 9:30A for my scheduled appointment, I was seated around the back for the refraction, eye pressure, and retinal imaging testing before being called to the exam room. The optometrist confirmed that I was here for a contact lens exam. The exam was quick. He went through some of the key findings and asked about my previous contact uses. Then, he gave me trial lenses to try on and use until the new contact lenses came in. When I came back out, I was shocked to find the store very full of people. It took a bit for the lens prescription to go through. The person at the front desk who was helping me was very professional. When I asked about a promotion that my workplace was offering for protective eyewear, she directed me through the process and asked me to wait. It is a massive open layout, so I can see why people felt like they weren't being helped or seen. With so many people in the store, it was not clear to the customers where to wait or how everyone was going to be seen in order, though it was clear from the staff members' behavior and speed that there was a system in place. The staff member at the front desk (manager maybe?) got to me and helped me pick out a goggle. She checked what my insurance coverage was, called the vision plan, and confirmed my coverage when there was a discrepancy with what she could see on the computer. She made sure that I was going to get coverage through my plan instead of giving up. As someone who has worked with billing and insurance reimbursement, I truly appreciated that she went the extra mile to double check this information so that I would not pay out of pocket any more than I had to. I wish I had asked her name. It is a very big store and a big chain, so I can see that the turnaround may not be too fast, which is not ideal if you are in a crunch for time. However, for my purposes, I don't mind having to wait a couple of weeks for my contact lenses and eye protection gear to come in. I would definitely come back to this location to use their services again. read more

I came here after my eye doctor said he could not improve my vision with a new prescription and that my only option was cataract surgery. Well that did not sit right with me so I made an appointment at Davis Visionworks. First of all, the process to make an appointment online was simple and I was able to get one on my lunch hour the same day. Upon entry there was a brief waiting period and I was taken into the check in area where the young lady who performed my initial exam/check-in was very professional. Then I saw Dr. Rodriguez who gave me one of the most thorough eye exams that I have ever had. She was able to update my prescription so I will be able to see clearer despite the cataracts. I'm so thankful for Dr. Rodriguez. She is an excellent optometrist. I highly recommend Dr. Rodriguez and Davis Visionworks in Levittown NY. read more

8/20 I am updating my review to the maximum amount of stars allowed (5). If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Visionworks really stands behind their products and cares about customer satisfaction. After I left my previous review Customer Service reached out to me. They wanted more information about what happened and they wanted to make it right. They had the Regional Manager, Hector, contact me to see how he could help. Hector offered to either change the lenses of my new eyeglasses to the prescription that I felt most comfortable with, or to have me undergo another exam by a different optometrist and then update the glasses. I told him that I had already moved to another state and didn't think there was anything else they could do. He went out of his way to find a store closest to my new ZIP Code. He told me that they were willing to do another entire eye exam and redo the glasses to my visual satisfaction. It took me a while to find them since I had moved. When I finally found them I called Hector back. He promptly got me in touch with my local store. The manager arranged for an eye exam with the Optometrist, and my lenses were replaced. My Visionworks glasses are now better than every. I am thrilled with the service and with my new glasses. I can now wear them every day and get so many compliments on the fashionable frames. Horrific. Every time I order contacts online (I'm not even given an option to speak with a live person), they do not answer emails or fax requests from the main Visionworks center to send over the prescription. This can go on for weeks. Every single experience with them is problematic. The wait time for both online and in-person services is extremely long, they seem very confused, and the service is consistently poor. I do not recommend this location and I caution anyone using this location for future online orders- it will be problematic! Terrible service. read more

My daughter had a 5:15 appt. They took us right in and did the preliminary tests. Then we waited 30 min for the Dr. My daughter was in the exam chair for a total of 5 min. They told her to pick out frames. Associates were sitting around talking. After 45 min I asked for the Rx. The associates that were just talking then told me they would enter the order for me, as if they were doing me a favor. I said forget it. They got annoyed with me and tried to pressure me to get the glasses, told me that they were short handed today. I said that they should have told me ahead of time that they were so behind. Why would they let me rot there for 45 min and then tell me they could enter the order. No thank you! Lee and I were surprised to see the poor ratings for this location, one that we have been patronizing annually for as long as they have been in this location. Our UUP Union plan has always offered Davis Vision Plan and we try to use these benefits and not let them go to waste. Located convienetly next to Dortoni, it is a huge store with plenty of frames to choose from. We have always found the staff to be pleasant and knowledgeable. On this visit, we were fortunate enough to have Karisa guide us through the different frames, lens choices and necessary upgrades according to our plan. She was patient and had a sense of humor while we tried to pick both regular and sunglasses for Lee. We actually had a good time and both walked out with 2 pairs each. It pays to make an appointment in advance for the eye exam, but to avoid a long wait while the staff is helping others, it's best to choose an off time and you will feel more relaxed browsing through the racks of modern and reasonably priced frames. read more

I have been to other Visionworks locations and have had a wonderful experience. However, this time I was beyond disappointed. My eye exam was wonderful and the doctor and technician were both great. However, I can't say the same about the staff. I waited for over an hour after my exam to speak with someone about purchasing glasses. People that came way after me with no appointment were helped before me. When I asked the staff if I could just have my prescription and leave they refused and said that the salesperson would give it to me. After waiting another twenty minutes I left. Gave my information at desk after 10 minutes looking around at frames which I possibly could've purchased for my new glasses. I was then told to have a seat and wait my turn to be called . I did observe 2 workers helping 2 customers but the other three were just sitting there either on the phone or who just sipped her coffee pretending she had paperwork to do. I came into this Davis Visionworks on a Wednesday at 3pm to get my glasses tighten. They have been falling off my face for weeks and I finally had a chance to stop in. This location is part of a large shopping center off of Hempstead turnpike. In this shopping center is King Kullen, Starbucks, Redmango, Dortoni Bakery and Pastry Shoppe, and Domenico's Restaurant & Catering. The lot is large but with so many stores it can be a bit overwheling with how many cars and pulling in and out every minute. As I entered I was pleasantly surprised by how clean and not packed the store was. No one really payed attention to me or greeted me so I was started walking towards ladies behind a desk. I wasn't sure where I was supposed to go or who to talk to so I went up to them. I told them what I needed and they had me sit down at a table and wait for assistance. Across from me at this table was an empty chair for the worker to help me. I waited about 5 minutes, no problem. They used all different tools from their drawer to fix my glasses and cleaned them thoroughly. I was happy with my experience here. The women who helped with my glasses was nice and I had an overall pleasant experience with this Davis Visionworks. read more

This is my 2nd call as to are they in yet. Today all I got from the Ty on the phone was a bunch of I don't knows. They had no issues taking my money and charging my insurance but don't know the issues why my glasses are taking 2 months with no expectations of getting the before the end of Feb . Saw the doctor, who was very good, after someone without an appointment was taken before me. Sat and waited again, they called my name, told I wanted the same frames with my new prescription and was told the same lenses were not carried by them any longer. $70 for exam without insurance. Haven't gone for an eye exam in a long time . The front desk person and the techs were very friendly and accommodating especially when my online appointment didn't take . I found the workers who did my exam to be very efficient and professional. However, they did one test that my insurance didn't cover which is fine it wasn't very highly priced but I think it would've been better if I was asked first. The eye doctor himself was nice enough but a little dismissive. I asked about floaters in my eye while I felt like I was being rushed out of the room . I've gone to Davis Visionworks twice for telehealth eye exams and they have gone well each time. The technicians are nice and talk you through each part of the exam. I did not find their selection of glasses appealing and no one actually helped me find a pair of glasses that suited me. I chose a pair that I really did not like. I will be returning them, as I have found a much nicer pair and received much better help elsewhere. read more

There is nothing more irritating and frustrating than poor customer service. This review is based on the attitudes of the front desk staff. I made an appointment as a new patient through their online system and I liked that it was quick and easy. Their staff called me several times to confirm my appointment and also to collect more information. I was unable to return their calls until the day of my appointment. They simply asked for my SS and health insurance provider. I asked if they needed any additional information and they said no... but they called back a few hours later and left a VM asking for more information. I was at work so I decided that it would all be settled later on at the appointment, but I was annoyed that they did not get everything they needed in the first place. Fast forward to the appointment and I must say the staff behind the front desk could not be bothered with doing their jobs. I did not wait long at all until Dr. Elizabeth Milia examined me. She was personable and very professional. I was in between RX so she noted that I could call in later after I've decided how strong I wanted to go. 5 stars for their doctors. After I was done, I checked in with the front staff again to see if I needed to pay for the visit. The original girl deferred me to someone else, who ended up deferring to the first girl anyway and acted as if I was the one inconveniencing her. After she looked through everything, she told me that I was all set. I was a little surprised so I asked again to make sure that they didn't need anything from me. She assured me again that I was good to go so I leave. As I'm on my way home, I get a call from them and now my frustration with them has compounded. WHAT NOW? The girl asked if I already left.... I said yes, and she explained that I didn't pay for my contact fitting and then puts me on hold.... then another girl gets on the line and apologizes for the confusion. She was the technician who was very apologetic and thoroughly explained how I needed to complete my transaction. It's too bad she doesn't work at the front desk instead. If you have staff who are well-trained and do their job efficiently/correctly the first time around, there would be no need for these unnecessary follow-up calls. I don't understand how a business operates this way, and I'm also surprised this issue has not been addressed and rectified following all of these negative reviews reflecting poor customer service. You have excellent doctors that are professional, yet that service is overshadowed by the lack of customer service of your front desk staff. Truly a shame. read more

First off you should get a pension for going there. Guaranteed a wait of in excess of one hour minimum. Then finally you get to talk to an optician. That's when I found out there prices are outrageous, even with insurance. They do have a big selection, however. Do yourself a favor and check out Target. The selection is very poor in this store. They have a few odd selections of designer brands but most of the lens choices are outdated or pretty basic. I understand you get what you pay for but I would agree to pay some out of pocket for better choices. Also the salespeople that help you at the end are all about selling lens upgrades. Once you say no they become uninterested. I understand they are a retail store but they except insurance and if my insurance happens to pay the entire cost I shouldn't be put on the pay no mind list just because the salesperson can't make commission. I picked out my own glasses didn't need a sales pitch and wasn't wasting anyone's time. The last time I was in this store they had Michael Kors frames and a bit better selection and although I had to pay more I was satisfied. I was told by the salesperson they lost Michael kors making the selection even more poor then it was originally. They need a better selection other wise I'll just pay out of pocket. read more

I have been to this facility a few times because of my vision insurance coverage. There are a "few" friendly faces, but overall the staff is very cold and seem apathetic. They do not seem to take any pride in their customer service. Every time I've gone there, I feel that I'm just another number. It seems that employees are more interested in chatting with each other than expediting service to minimize the time customers have to sit and wait, which is ridiculous at times. Their gestures and body language can also seem very judgemental. Overall they lack tact and do not seem to care about the customer's experience. My only positive experience there was with Mery when I was selecting my most resent glasses. She took the time to help me select from different options, and was very patient and pleasant throughout the entire interaction. If you have options don't settle for this place. read more

I've been going here for my eye check up for about 2 to 3 years already. The eye Dr., Dr. Jeffrey Blum is awesome.What I don't appreciate are the other staff members who seem to just come there just to get paid and they don't care about customers. I am a very patient person thats why I keep coming there even though there is one African american FEMALE staff who seem to have always have an issue with me and treated me stupid when I ask questions always showing me attitude. But this time i would probably go to a different eye clinic after this recent visit. I brought my son for his very first eye checkup last 7/10/2020.Dr. recommend him to wear prescription glasses. My son plays baseball and I also want to get him a prescription "sports glasses or goggles". But because this is also my first time buying my son glasses, i don't have idea on what to buy or what a sports goggles looks like. We pick these two pairs and the optician VERIFIED us that the 1x of the glasses we picked is the RIGHT sports glasses even though i made sure and ask her several times if they will put a band at the back after when its time for us to pick those up because i notice there is no holes on the hinge when my son was trying it. She said YES and she CONTINUE to process our orders-take note she is "certified" . So i purchased a total of 3 pairs (one for me, and two for my son, a regular pair and glasses to use for playing baseball) $400+ total. Now that its time to pick up those glasses.. first I got so upset because one MALE staff member sign us up in front, (BY THE WAY HE DIDN'T EVEN CHECK OUR TEMPERATURES prior which i believe is a protocol for this covid season)He just wrote our names and specifically instructed us to wait in the corner. I don't know what he did next or if he told someone to help us..My son and I WAITED FOR MORE THAT 30mins while my Husband and our 3 years old are also waiting for us inside the car in this hot weather and JUST to pick up our glasses that is said to be ready. On that very long wait there are 5x staff members walking inside just looking at us and not offering us help. My son and I are the only one there and no other customers waiting, until there is one Caucasian male customer just walked in, they did not even sign him up and they immediately help him before us. And that customer doesn't even have any appointment base from what I overheard thats why I already got really upset and speak up. Just to pick up our glasses we have to wait that long and all the staff just looking at us walking around ready to leave and close the store, treated us like nobody. When its time for us to try our glasses.. another problem came up when the lady named Mary, who helped us pick the glasses my son needs from last week denies us that the sport glasses we picked that SHE VERIFIED and RECOMMENDED is not actually a sports glasses but what they call " industrial type" use for work protection they said... there is no band included of course she is even denying to us that she did not help us before. When i showed our receipts, its her name that shows in their record who actually process our orders. Then she said"oh I don't know why that glasses was in there and why i gave you that glasses" ... im like really upset with them because they made us wait, and now accusing me that its my fault. She is even suggesting me to buy band from a certain store which i should not be doing and they should provide me in the first place. I told her, i asked her multiple times before if that was really a sports glasses and why would certified staff "Optician" working there ALLOW us to purchase an "industrial" pair for my son when i specifically ask for a glasses that he can use for baseball. This issue needs to be investigated. Management needs to address this. The African american lady working that incident didn't even apologize at all. When i complained We've been waiting for a long time she just smiled and said "oh I thought she's with the other customer who's already inside". this is the worst experience with them ever. I would give credit to the African American MALE staff member though who claimed is not license but apologize to us a lot of time for what happened and also tried his best to accommodate us..Im sorry i forgot to get your name but thank you for all your help and for simply apologizing. read more
