Several years ago I had gotten a new pair of glasses from a different location in Queens. While I was visiting a nearby Mall screw came out and I couldn't see anything. My sister tiik me to this location and very nicely they fixed my glasses and ask for nothing in return, and they knew I didn't buy from their company. Three years later I'm ready for a new pair of glasses and luckily I moved into their neighborhood. I knew for sure they were the place I had to go. I have to say they were so amazing. The doctor was quick, efficient, and extremely informative. I have never had a doctor treat me so well in any field of Medicine. I've worn glasses almost my whole life and never knew some of the stuff she told me. The staff there were super sweet and helped me pick out a pair of glasses and the extras that would be best for me. I doubt the location had anything to do with the pricing but I also got an amazing deal (I do have insurance though), with all the bells and whistles and a pair of Ray-Bans. If you want efficient and pleasant service without being overcharged, please shop elsewhere. When I first arrived, I witnessed a customer complaining about being overcharged in a previous interaction and the worker she spoke with stated that she never got around to calling the customer. It's horrible that someone had to drive out of her way to correct a business' mistake. I tried to ignore the conversation, hoping my experience would be better. Unfortunately, it was not. I was made to wait 40 minutes to be seen for my eye exam, despite arriving five minutes early for my appointment. Upon check out, I encountered an extremely nasty and inept optician's assistant told me to "stop talking" after I brought to her attention that she was charging me more than the promotional price listed on the website. Apparently, she cannot do simple math in her head so being rude improves matters? Also, being overcharged is seeming to be a common occurrence at Wize Eyes. And, the piece de resistance, the assistant tried to sell me on glasses and contacts after her obnoxious comment! If I hadn't already been seen by the doctor, I would've stormed out! Her appalling behavior just cost Wize Eyes a nearly $500 sale of eyeglasses and contact lenses at a time when brick-and-mortar opticals across the country are losing market share to online stores. So glad to give Warby Parker and 1800 Contacts my money! read more

After 3 eye exams, and 3 different prescriptions, bc they couldn't get it right, I finally demanded a full refund. I'll keep it short. They are absolutely horrible, incompetent and honestly sketchy. That's a whole different story. After moving on to a new place it was explained to me that they use the cheapest lenses possible. read more

I have been going to this Wize Eyes for many years. They have a very large selection of well-Priced and Designer frames. You can bring a scrip from your own eye doctor Or see their professional. A gentlemen named David who has been there Many years, will see to it that you have the very best eyewear that will feel equal to your own eyes. I've tried other places and was never satisfied with the results. My current glasses are perfect thanks to David and the staff at Wize Eyes on Broadway in Hicksville. read more

Have a pair of Ray Bans that were feeling loose and not fitting correctly. Walked in, welcomed by two smiling ladies and then helped immediately by a very nice (and skilled) gentleman that made my glasses fit perfectly. No need to wonder where I'm going to buy my next glasses from! read more

I am SO disappointed. If I could give 0 stars I would. Service was AWFUL. We went to the store to get new lenses and once we got back home and checked we saw that my ear rests WEREN'T THE SAME. So we went back and told them and they insisted that it was ours and we remembered wrong. Ive had these glasses for 2 years and you don't think I know what they look like? They are two completely DIFFERENT colors and the ones they "replaced" are too thin as you can see in the pictures. They kept saying that the frames "were there before" but I assure you they weren't. They definitely stole them because of the name brand of my glasses which is SO LOW. BEWARE before you go (which I don't recommend) take a picture of your glasses before. We didn't know this would happen and didn't take pictures so I am warning future customers take pictures of your glasses before you go. I feel violated as a customer don't expect me or anyone I know to come again. read more

My son broke his only pair of eyeglasses on Saturday night. He cannot see a thing without them. I called around to places that said they can make eyeglasses the same day - was told NOT ON SUNDAY. I called Wize Eyes and they said yes they could make them the same day. I thought for sure they would be ridiculously expensive, but had no choice. Not only was the eye exam only $39 but the glasses were much less than I thought I would have to pay and the best thing is - THEY WERE READY IN 1/2 HOUR!! Would recommend this place to anybody that needs emergency rush eyeglasses and exam!! read more

Despite the short wait and same-day appointment, I won't be going back here. I got my eye exam, got fitted for contacts, and was given a free trial for Dailies AquaComfort. When I went to go pay for the exam, the older receptionist (there were two: one older, one younger) charged me for the exam and proceeded to fill out an order for 90 AquaComfort lenses priced around $60. I asked if I could wait to try on an online brand before deciding and order that many. She pressured me into ordering the AquaComfort, arguing that I wasn't fitted for the online brand. I reassured her that I would have a free trial, but she continued to argue. I don't understand why my free trial of an online brand is so different from the free trial of the AquaComfort they gave me. And I don't understand why she thinks I'm ready to order 90 lenses of contact lenses I've only had in my eyes for a few minutes. After debating back and forth, she finally let me go without charging me for the order of 90 lenses. I understand that they're experienced, but it is absurd and inappropriate to pressure or force a patient to do something when they have made a decision to do otherwise. In this case, I asked to wait and said I would call to order the AquaComfort if the online brand didn't work out--which is reasonable, right? I had very little patient autonomy--I felt my rights as a patient were violated. read more

My first yelp post .... I had an amazing experience at Wize Eyes. I was on vacation and lost my extra contacts and it was time to get glasses too. Set up an appointment the next day - showed up early to look at frames. Immediately upon arrival i had the rep (female, pregnant (congrats)) showing me tortoise frames by the handful with recommendations and comments from previous customers - she was awesome. I saw doc walk in and she was right to work - took me right in. She was savy, funny and professional. At no point was i uncomfortable or pushed to buy - never oversold. If there was an option for negative stars this place would get all 5. A few of the workers here would not accommodate my sister in replacing not two but one lens for her glasses, they also completely broke into pieces the usable slightly cracked lens that she wanted to replace. read more

After being told my insurance was accepted there (Eyemed), I was surprised in person when it wasn't. Not only that, but the employee kept chuckling and saying no repeatedly, yet couldn't be bothered to look at the back of the card which clearly stated what vision insurance coverage I had (which they said they accepted). After I saw the doctor (who was the only lovely person there), the other employee kept trying to sell me lenses for my glasses which I said I couldn't currently afford and would at a later date. She kept pushing it and when I said I just wanted to pay for the exam and I was sorry I couldn't get the lenses now, she asked if I had a job. Yes, actually, a full time one as well as a full time student and I completely support myself. I am appalled at how rude they were. A year ago I paid $300 plus for a pair of glasses from them and they were as sweet as honey then. Guess they only care for customers if you're spending hundreds. I will never go back. I work in a busy salon and every single day am asked by someone where I get my glasses. I sure as hell won't recommend Wize Eyes ever again! read more

My visit here lasted less than one minute. I came in, wanting to try on and purchase new frames. I had names of three brands with their style codes that were recommended to me by a friend. There were two females working the front desk, one young and one old. The older woman came over to help me. I looked at my list and asked to see those glasses. She immediately said no, and barked "You can't come in here to try on glasses and then buy them online elsewhere for a cheaper price." Excuse me? I didn't even know what she was talking about. She continued her disrespectful manner, saying she "could tell that's what I planned on doing." How tasteless! I still wanted to see the frames on my list, and she told me to go look for them myself! I walked right out of there. I went to Cohen's Optical, which was down the street, and was treated with much more respect by their staff. I decided to purchase my frames from them instead. read more
