If I could give this place negative stars I would. My glasses broke and I didn't have another pair so in I go to this miserable place. The first gentleman I spoke to said it's been a while since my last eye exam, but not to worry about it I obviously needed glasses. So, I picked out my frames and the guy gave my information to some heavy-set woman at the desk ( I forgot her name) and she REFUSED to help me until I had an updated eye exam. Which of course is an extra $75 in their pocket. Which I can't afford because I just lost my job and my insurance and can't even afford eye care. I wouldn't have gone to the eye doctor or to get new glasses if the piece of crap glass frame didn't break. So now they are holding my sight hostage until I can come up with all this money for the eye exam, frames, lenses and whatever other BS they try to sell me. Also Warning they want 100% payment upfront. Apparently, there's new management and it got even worse. read more

Came here for an eye exam for contacts. Called earlier to see if I could come in earlier than my scheduled appointment. Was told sure come on in. Came in an at 5, sat down, filled out initial paperwork, and waited. Was up next until another worker asked me what time my appointment was. Told her it was originally at 6 but was told that I could come in earlier. She said you're going to have wait now until 6. I said that's not what the other worker said. She spoke with the other worker who then said, "I told him that that he would have to until 6." LOL. But the worse is probably the HIPPA violation. Received an email from them about filling out paperwork. Opened the attachment and someone else's information is on there. Their name, address, DOB, and insurance info. Emailed them back telling them what they did. Didn't receive a response. Otherwise, the doctor is very nice and explained everything to me. Prices are the same as anywhere else. read more

I was in to buy glasses April, 2021. When I went to pick the glasses up for 1st time the lab sent 2 different color lenses. They had to reorder them, the 2nd time the prescription was not correct. Had to reorder. The third time is was correct. I went back in September to get sunglasses. I went to pick them up and the woman working at the desk ordered my prescription for the computer glasses that I ordered last year. Now they are ready for the 2nd time, let's hope the prescription is correct this time!! They have all new people there, Jessie is gone, he was awesome. The women at the front desk are gone and I do not feel like the workers are now knowledgeable to assist customers. read more

this was my first eye exam in about two years, the store was very well put together. The Doctor ( Davis? sorry not 100% sure name wise) was soooo very kind, he took his time making sure my new RX was good. I didnt feel rushed or anything at all. I was there last week Wednesday, getting an eye/lenses exam and to peruse some frames,When I had a not so great experience with a nasty clerk, named Mindy. I inquired about pricings and payment, and she was loud, obnoxious, and condescending informing me that the store's policy changing. Which I'm not entirely sure whether or not she's even telling the truth! I'll have to call and speak to store manager. She had no clue as to protecting a customer's privacy. Speaking so nastily to me in front of other customers. It was simply uncalled for. Talk about customer service?! I mean if that is how they treat their customers, I might as well take my business elsewhere. The entire experience was uncalled for and very Negative. She needs to be spoken to, so she mind her manners with customers. Other than that Dr. Jill was great! And very knowledgeable. read more

Today 3-25-20 with the Coronavirus craziness, obviously most businesses have been shut down, and understandably so. I tripped in my house and bent my glasses. I can't see without them. I called Pearle and they were closed, so I left a message. Jessie was the only one in the store. I explained what happened to me. He said he would be there for a short time and if I came there, he would try to fix my glasses. Since I can't see without my glasses, I would say that's an emergency. Jessie was very understanding and very courteous and fixed my glasses in a matter of minutes, and didn't charge me for his service. What a professional that truly knows what customer service is, even during times of crisis. I am a Pearle Vision customer and will continue to be as well as recommend them highly. March 22nd... Me: Hey, I was just calling to find out if my glasses are ready... Pearle Vision: No... I don't see anything yet... Me: Oh, they told me it would be 3-5 business days, and it's been 6 days now. Pearle Vision: Oh, well the frames your wanted we needed to order so they should be ready in a few days. Me: Okay. March 26th... Me: Hey I was just checking to see if my glasses are ready Pearle Vision: Well the lenses have not arrive yet. March 28th... Me: Hey I just wanna know when my glasses will be ready... Pearle Vision: Well your lenses just came in today they wont be ready today thou, because Easter is coming up. March 29th... FINALLY MY GLASSES ARE READY... 3-5 BUSINESS DAYS.. Turns into 2 weeks, every time was a different excuse. When I was there, they frames were in the store, and just the lenses needed to be ordered. That turns into my frames needing to me ordered which is what took so long. And then... that becomes... your frames are here...but your lenses are what is holding your glasses up!!! Of all the eyewear stores I have visited, this one had the best selection and the most helpful sales staff. More importantly, the eye doctor who examined me gave me the most thorough eye exam I have ever had....no rushing through the "better, worse, same" stuff where you aren't really sure of some answers. He was patient and careful that the subtle differences in the optical quality of your choices was accurate and took the time for you to be sure. This resulted in a prescription I was sure was right on the money. This is so important and would make me want to ask for him again in the future. Bought regular glasses that were ready THE SAME DAY! My old glasses were in pieces so this was a big plus. Sunglasses that were ordered at the same time took quite a while but there was an issue with the wide lenses fitting correctly in the frame I picked so they had to be sent out to another place for fitment. When they arrived I could see how precisely they had to be installed so I understood the delay and was actually glad they did whatever had to be done to make them right, they were perfect. The eye exam was good, the rest of it was not so good. It took 3 weeks to get my glasses made. They originally told me it would take seven day and used Covid as an excuse. for the delay instead of telling me up front, if that was the reason. I will not recommend or go back to them again. read more

Went in to check up for new glasses. Services was excellent. Courteous staffs who were very helpful. The manager Jesse was wonderful he helped me pick out my new frame. My husband, daughter and I all get our exams & eyeglasses through this Pearle location. I have never had a negative thing to say about them. We book the exam online & Dr. Kirshen takes his time and is very thorough. The staff is very helpful & knowledgeable. We ordered sunglasses & my regular glasses (needed upgrade) that same day and they were ready 2 days later for both my daughter and myself! I have been t Costco and yes, they are great too but it isnt a one one one visit & I feel rushed there. At Pearle, they encourage you to take your time and they will help you pick out glasses that suite you. It has been about three weeks, and they did not make my glasses, although Costco and other optics companies they takes two or less days. they also don't give the guarantee of your glasses frame. if you bought it from someone else. they keep saying tomorrow, and day after tomorrow and never make it read more

Best experience I've had at any optometrist in a long time. Prices were reasonable. selection great. I walked in on a Monday night to check out the selection of frames which I was pleased with. I was lucky enough to get a walk in examination with Dr. Kirshen who was also one of the best Optometrist I've dealt with in the past 15 years. I then selected frames I liked and received a call on Wednesday that my glasses were ready to pick up. I hesitantly made my appointment online and arrived at the time stated. Within moments of arriving I was called in by a friendly middle aged women who graciously said to have a seat and I was assuming she was a technician.Ends up this was Dr. Jill Sweig and it was the beginning of a very special visit for me. I have been to opthamologist in the past, waited hours in their office and been rushed through the exam part, basically not knowing what was going on with my eyes, have had to have them dialiated several times. I became disenchanted. I thought why not go to the optometrist and see what that is like. Sure am glad I did. Dr. Jill as she is known, explains in layman terms not only about your eye exam and what and why she is performing different test but also she puts you at ease with the questions she ask. She is very interested in all your medications and medical history, not only eye. I was impressed by that. When you come to the part of the exam where she allows you to choose the lenses that are the clearest for you she doesn't rush through, she takes her time, ask if it's fuzzy etc. She made me laugh several times with her stories and just so happens to have a Black and White Tuxedo Cat like I do. I really had such a wonderful experience with Dr. Jill and would like to thank her. Then I went on to the phase where you select the frames you feel most comprotable in. At first I thought the girl Mindy may have an attitude. She seemed kind of quiet and not really helpful. But the more questions I asked the more alive she became. She helped me choose the RIGHT FRAMES for my face and head. I appreciated that she was honest and would say oh no those aren't for you. What impressed me the most about Mindy was that she was so thorough with fitting the frames , marking the lenses and remeasuring to make sure she had the right measurements. She looked at the calendar and said they would be ready at the latest the 29th but most likely much sooner. I had only gone to the appt in the early part of the week and Igot the call on Friday the glasses were ready. Using the AARP and our health insurance really has helped out and they really know about all the discounts and what to look for and to explain in detail. I am excited to be picking up my glasses today and to say Hi to everyone. I would definitely recommend Pearle Vision and this location in particular. Great people, lots of parking front or back, easy access from Hempstead Tpk and many other shopping stores around if need be. Nice area of East Meadow. read more

This review is for Dr. Kirshen, rather than for Pearle Vision. Though I've no gripe with PV; I'm simply a fan of Costco's optical department. I keep coming back to PV because Dr. Kirshen is the best. He's friendly, prompt and thorough. And his prescriptions are always right for me. I've worn glasses since high school and he's by far my favorite optometrist. One optician is very polite and extremely helpful. The rest of the staff, including the optometrist, seem to think their jobs are beneath them. Their prices are higher than elsewhere and their service is less. They have many competitors close by. Try some of them. This place is, in my opinion, not worth going to. read more
