bought two pairs of glasses got 1 pair same day. As for the second pair, I was told by the end of the week that I would receive a text when they are ready. That week went by. so did the following week. so, I decided to call. Just to find out... they had them. lady told me Id get them the following day. NOPE. waited another week. Called again, and was told they didn't have them. The gentleman I spoke to also said they wouldn't have them till the beginning of the next month. and to top it all off. the next day he calls and says they're ready. unbelievable. read more

Ordered new lenses. Was told they would be delivered to them in 10-14 days. I called at 14 days still not there. Employee told me the order was delayed because corporate was behind due to weather. I checked the weather in Texas, surprise no bad weather. I asked to speak to manager at around 4pm. He had already left for the day. What kind of business stays open with no manager on duty. It's now almost 21 days and I'm told they're here but I have to wait till end of day maybe. This is quite possibly the WORST EXPERIENCE I've ever had lies, delays. Prices are very reasonable, the service is great and faster than estimated turnaround for my glasses (I wear bifocals so I couldn't do one-hour glasses.) My only complaint is that I often have to wait awhile to be helped, but the service and value are still worth it. I got my daughters glasses here too and she loves them. read more

The General Manager operates at a much faster pace by herself than all of the other employees do combined. While I appreciate the information she shared and her positive attitude along with the prices for glasses, without her there the employees operate at such a slow speed that they appear to not be moving at all. I came in to pick up glasses with one person ahead of me and left after waiting 30 minutes with no updates on time or acknowledgement from staff whatsoever. Even a greeting would have been nice rather than ignoring my existence entirely. If not for the GMs excellent customer service skills this place would be a 1. But a five from her and 0 from the other staff averages to 2.5 and I don't feel inclined to round up after such a lousy experience. Will definitely be switching providers read more

Vision for less....if you have all day to pay for it. Their prices are promised to be low, yes, but the price to pay for low prices is waiting to be served. Name brands are offered here. Many to select from. But I noticed they like to put many of the same model of glasses in every section of the store. So it looks like they have a lot to chose from. Customer service is very poor. They only have 3 people on staff for the sales floor. Every time I visited, seems like the same three people. The line to receive service is always long. Someone will usually say hi when you walk in but you have to put your name down on a very long list to be able to receive Customer service. So you might be waiting 45 to 90 minutes for help!! That's extremely long! Which was the case with every visit I've made and same thing with other customers I've talked to there while waiting. This place attracts customers who want to receive bottom dollar glasses. However, other eye glass places can price match. They need to figure out a better way to handle the 5 minute issues and a better way to juggle a lot of customers visiting. I've been here three other times besides today and every time has been a disappointment. I will not be returning. I don't recommend this place. I don't like leaving a bad review. Don't walk from this place RUN. If I could give you zero stars I would you people are terrible. I didn't even get into the store I called to get an answer to a simple question on whether not they accept insurance and the lady put me on hold for 20 minutes and tells me what I need to know what kind of insurance you have I need to know this I need to know this I need to know this etc. etc. etc. just answer my simple original question do you accept insurance? Do you except insurance yes or no and of story you don't have to ask me what kind I have you don't need to know what I'm doing you don't need to know the doctor's name where I got my prescription just answer the question. Furthermore you can take your attitude and shove it somewhere else because I will be contacting your corporate office. Your customer service is horrible I hope you guys get shut down and if you don't maybe you should overhaul all your stuff because at this point they're terrible for people. There were two people helping customers. The two people where the best sales people I've ever had. They both were busy there was a ratio of 5:1. Those two people were running all over but they both were so friendly and Professional. They apologized and explained what they were doing so everyone knew why the wait was a little longer. When it was my turn the young lady took her time to answer my guestions while answering the phone and dealing with upset customers. She did all this with the most genuine smile on her face and the most pleasant voice. I strongly recommend this place great job. read more

We just returned from Vision 4 Less on Merle Hay. We arrived early and there was no wait. From the moment we entered the store, the staff were incredible - warm, friendly, welcoming. Special kudos to Page who was absolutely wonderful. Not only is she extremely knowledgeable, but she is "fun" to be with! The selection is overwhelming, costs very reasonable, and our insurance was accepted. Because we selected glasses with special features, they will not be ready until later in the day. Actually, we expected it would take several days for them to be ready. Overall, a delightful experience! read more

After calling ahead to make sure we could get them today, driving an hour, waiting for 15 minutes, selecting glasses, being told they were 10 times the advertised price, and having an associate sell me on the benefit of a polycarbonate lender, I was told the polycarbonate machine was down. 1st trip here was good, prompt service, glasses done quickly and insurance coverage quickly explained. Today very different experience. Took very long to figure our insurance and then still wasn't sure the charged cost was correct. Took longer than expected to receive very basic glasses and then when I picked up they had WRONG prescription in lenses! Pros ...well, the price of glasses is good. The timeliness of the glasses being ready if also good. Cons... the customer service is not so great. We were greeted with a "there are 4 people before you" not a good morning, etc They then did tell us we could walk around and look while waiting. Then when coming back in to pick then up I was greeted with just sign your name on the list and we will get to you. I asked "even if I just need to pick up glasses" to which I received a response of yes ma'am. When they finally got to me about 20 minutes later they realize that I was picking up glasses for someone else and then told me if they realize that then they would have just gotten them for me earlier. I have been coming to this store for years because of the competitive prices - the only positive about any experience I've had here. The store is consistently understaffed which means a LONG wait to purchase new glasses. Upon return to pick up glasses, another LONG wait is to be expected. They have no system for determining which customer arrived first, and their promises of "Someone will be right with you" should not be trusted. The staff tends to be gruff and unpleasant with no sense of urgency when it comes to service. Bottom line - if you are on a budget this store might work for you. If you value your time and efficient service, not so much. read more

The good thing is the price, and speed of producing the glasses (1-2 hours). What they need to work on, is adequate staffing, and customer service. My experience waiting in line, is similar to others who reviewed here. The one instance that stands out to me, though, is my wife's experience. Because of the retro-style frames (narrow, 60's fad that's been going on), the only frames available, were small. My wife needed bi-focals, but the associate thought they would fit on the lens. When they were done, the area for the bi-focals was so small, that it didn't properly magnify for reading. When my wife pointed it out, the associate said something to the effect that they weren't going to "eat the cost of a $90 lens". I told the guy that if they don't eat the cost, we'll be the ones eating $90 for a set of lenses that don't do what the prescription calls for. He asked if I want to talk to the manager, so I said yes. The manager did offer us a refund, but it shows the need to improve customer service. Honestly, I think they're too busy, or else not efficient enough in how they operate, to handle that level of business politely and efficiently. read more

Have bought several pairs of glasses from this location over the years. Never have I been so poorly treated. Stopped in to see if they could find me a new pair frames for my lenses the lady behind the counter was more concerned with her phone call acted as though I interrupted her and took a look at my glasses and then got on the phone again she interrupted her own phone call to tell me there was nothing that they could do for me they didn't make those frames anymore. I asked if they could grind the lenses to fit a new pair of frames she said absolutely not. Didn't offer to look for frames or assist me in any other way or fashion was rude and obnoxious barking at other employees this employee definitely needs a lesson in manners. I took my glasses to another optical shop they ground the lenses why waited and fit them in a new pair frames for me kudos to Russes optical on University. I will never go to vision for less on Merle hay Road again or any of its other locations. Apparently this woman has an authority complex and feel that she just needs to bark at everybody all because she was unsatisfied with her phone call treated her other employees as though they were minions how demeaning. Great prices but I would never recommend anyone to that location at Merle hay Road again. read more
