Customer service, empathy or concern for actually following their own established policies seems to be selective. At the very minimum the staff is rude and biased. At the horrendously worst they are racially judgmental. Speaking very calm I was told that I was getting loud and angry. Immediately I was told that no longer discussion was warranted and that I needed to talk to the office manager due to my "heated and loud" demeanor. I deal in conflict management daily at my job and even informed the clerk that I was displeased at the situation, but that a disagreeing perspective does not equate to loud or even angry in tone. I have had mixed experiences with the staff during my 15 plus years of treatment, but have never been treated like this. There generally has been a feeling of greater than thou or elitism instead of an everyone is welcome attitude. I at first equated that to having government insurance. I now have exceptional corporate insurance and treatment was not any different. I would have left and went elsewhere a long time ago if not for the care I received from my doctor. Dr. Woodruff has always been incredibly kind and caring. However, I will not be stereotyped. I am the very last to bring classism, race or any other type of prejudiced accusations into a situation unjustly but today's experience was putrid. To the office's credit, I could have been seen and dealt with the attitudes if I myself had been to my appointment exactly on time or early. That is on me. I fully take that responsibility. Oh well. I may make a BBB complaint as well but there are plenty other eyecare facilities. My treatment will have to be postponed for another month or so and I am thankful it wasn't excessively, medically urgent. Except for possibly picking up my records; I will NOT be back her again. They have several frames to pick from, including some under $200 that are covered by our insurance. I wish there were more economical selections, but they have the basics covered.

The rep could not cancel the hold that day. They were supposed to call me back when it was cleared up and did not. So without any follow-up, I went ahead and ordered from another site instead with the script, paying full price for the glasses. Imagine my surprise when a week or so back, Visionfirst called to tell me (in March) that my January glasses were ready for pick up? What glasses? I clarified I only had the eye exam and that the sale had fallen through- there were no glasses to pick up. She assured me the VSP benefits would be returned as she would let them know I had not used my eyeglass benefits there. I trusted it would be cleared and above all other things, trust is very important to me. I would have never known if was not cleared up though if not for the eye issue today that necessitated my needing services from an eye doctor. When the doctor finished working with me today and I was looking at new frames, I was astounded to hear that I had NO eyewear benefits. This has caused additional time and work on my part today to get this straightened out.
