Never thought I'd be writing a positive let alone glowing review of this place. Always hated having to go here and deal with the employees. Don't know what happened in the past year or so but it's an entirely different experience. I had made appointments online and we showed up a few minutes early. One appointment got "lost". Here we go. Gonna be a long night. They weren't able to schedule both of us that day afterall but they did apologize profusely. They took my daughter right back for an immediate exam and 20 minutes later Jada was helping her pick out frames and making sure they fit correctly as well as offering a second opinion on frames that she wouldn't look good in. (Thanks for the help!). We ordered everything and she said it would be two weeks on the outside to get them in. Meanwhile I had rebooked an appointment for the same time the following week. The day of my appointment, they let me know her glasses we in. It was a repeat of the previous week, immediate exam and help with the frames (this time for me) and she (Jada) then fitted my daughters glasses for her. A week later my glasses were in and she fitted mine. Kudos! She knew what she was doing. Did not try and upsell or downsell to insurance. Was polite and friendly the entire time and never gave the impression we were keeping her from playing on her phone or something. She actually helped. Imagine that!! read more

I made a same-day appointment online because I experienced a concerning ocular event this morning. My appointment was for 12:45pm. Unfortunately there was unexpected construction and excessive traffic in the area, so despite leaving early we arrived at 12:52pm ... 7 minutes past my appointment time. Upon checking in, the receptionist told me that they give customers a "5-minute grace period" only and that he'd have to see if the doctor would still be willing to take me. This made no sense, unless the appointments themselves are only 5 minutes in duration? He checked with the doctor who said I could sit down and wait but there would be no guarantee that she could see me. First of all, a "5-minute grace period" is beyond ridiculous, and this so-called "policy" should really be posted on their website so that customers can make an informed decision about patronizing a place so inflexible and unaccommodating. Had I known, I could have probably avoided schlepping out to Bensalem only to be turned away. We asked the receptionist to check with the doctor to see what her thoughts were on losing the business of a family of six patients who go there regularly, and the receptionist told us "she probably doesn't care about losing your business." Okay then! You don't have to tell ME twice. Lastly, since the whole purpose of the appointment was due to a concern about blurred / lost vision, I sincerely hope for their sake that this doesn't escalate into a situation involving medical negligence. TL;DR: Don't go to Visionworks in Bensalem PA unless you want to be treated like dirt and have potential medical emergencies ignored. read more

I've been coming here for the last few years for my eye exams and glasses. Every time I am here I'm always greeted by the friendly and professional staff. The whole store is clean and organized. They have a ton of choices for glasses and always have great money saving deals. The exam process is quick and painless. Due to Covid they aren't using the dialation drops, but, instead they have a machine that takes pictures of your eyes. The whole process takes under 5 mins. I saw Doctor Patel today. He was very nice and explained everything to me when he showed me the photos of my eyes. The girl who helped me with my order was awesome. I can't remember her name but I've dealt with a lot of the staff there over the years and have nothing negative to say. My husband and mom come here too and both agree that they are the best! read more

I hate this place. For an eye exam that took less than 5 minutes I had to wait over an hour and a half. Also before I could even leave, I had to wait another 15 minutes to get checked out to leave. The staff is so unprofessional, I have no idea where they hire these people from. Today I had to come in for a dilation appointment and waited 40 mins to be seen before the doctor put drops in my eyes and said "okay now wait an hour for the drops to work". I don't even have words for how inconsiderate this staff is. Definitely do not come here unless it's the absolute last option. read more

The staff at this clinic is so unpleasant that it shows a bit of racism that they speak Spanish and do not want to serve a client knowing that they have to give them priority. In this country of the United States there are laws and one of them is to assist you in the language that is necessary, even using a translator, not to give excuses and say that they do not speak it because they already have very bad experiences. for at least three of my friends with the same problem read more

If I could give a -10 stars I would. In February of this year i went To Visionworks Bensalem for a routine eye exam, my exam lasted 15 minutes max, i even paid the extra for the upgraded testing which was an added 35 dollars. I received my prescription and took it to Coscto to get my glasses, since Visionworks are highway robbery for glasses. I have been getting my glasses at Costco for years never a problem. I received my glasses in a week, the first day wearing them I knew something was off. I went back to Visionworks they basically said Coscto made an error in the glasses due to them being progressive and measured them wrong for the bifocal, back to Costco i went. To my surprise it was never an issue with Costco, Visionworks prescription was wrong the entire time. I had to pay out of pocket for another eye exam since I wasted my one eye exam at Visionworks. I contacted visionworks and the best they could do is give me my 10 copay and 35 from the testing, oh wait they offered me 60% off of a new pair of overpriced glasses. Visionworks is a absolute mess, save yourself time and money go to Costco in Warminster the eye doctor inside is the best, their glasses are reasonable and don't charge all these crazy charges for progressive etc etc etc I got 2 pairs of high end glasses for less than a mediocre pair that visionworks tried to sell me. I won't lie, the negative reviews scared me and had me hesitant to come here. Maybe others expect too much but I had a great visit! Jennica was very nice welcoming me in and ordering my glasses for me. I went at 11 am on a Thursday and there were very few other patients. Dr.Patel was very nice and professional as well, I chose to get the retinal imaging instead of getting my eyes dilated and that went very quick! Spent at most just a little over an hour there from exam to ordering my glasses. read more

appt was @ 5:40p walked in & 5:49 and was told I was late. Was I late? Technically I was but theres no 10-15 min courtesy window? Meanwhile the guy at desk tells me "every appt is scheduled for 20 mins and since I am 10mins late I am half way thru my appt" when I just scheduled this appt at 3p today and there were THREE available appt times after mine? So in the last 2hrs you had filled those other time slots? Doubt it!!!! Does visionworks guarantee that you get taken back to see a doctor exactly at your scheduled appt time? Its 2024 no one seems to want to help anyone. The guy at desk could of had less of an attitude and offering another option.... like another appt!!!!!! Eeeeew!!!! Esp when theres a million other places to get your eyes checked. So when your store closes due to lack of business you will know why. read more

UPDATE: I emailed the customer service email and I haven't received a response yet. They called me to let me know the "re done" glasses were ready to be picked up. I went there and no, they couldn't find it. I requested a refund since I paid in cash and it has been such a long time. $350.00. They don't want to give me a refund. They kept telling me they need to contact a higher person. This is incredible and I'm getting legal resources to get this fixed. Please please please do not go there for your vision needs! I finally broke down and admitted to myself that I needed glasses. I wish I'd done it sooner! The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. They had a nice selection of frames to choose from. Visionworks - Optometrists Near Me - Bensalem, Pennsylvania

Came here for their $20 vision exam, since my insurance only does contacts OR glasses one. The staff right from the beginning was very friendly and helpful. I guess a ton of people don't come here because they had pretty much any slot I wanted available for an appointment as well. As for the doctor, I had the female doctor, can't remember her name, EXTREMELY nice! I've worn glasses since the first grade, and have seen my share of nasty or cold optomologist, this one was so pleasant and helpful. I have been using my glasses a lot more and turns out my prescription went down significantly (yay glasses!) and she tried 3 different sets slightly different to get me the perfect fit. As for glasses they have a ton to choose from, at affordable prices - about $70. The ONLY mistake I made was that I did not get the anti glare option bc I thought it was some gimmick, anddddd my new lenses have like an EXTREME glare, almost difficult to see at times. I really wish the saleslady would've explained how important this was, versus offering it in the same breath as the glasses that turn into sunglasses and the anti scratch insurance.....I mean, really. Anyway, I would recommend coming back, especially when they are running a promotion. Make sure to check for coupons in the paper and on their website as well! read more

Have been to this location twice and both experiences were bad. The first experience felt like I was at a used car dealership because the sales lady kept pushing me towards certain glasses and contacts. I am an adult I think I am capable of choosing glasses I want to wear and if I need an opinion I am capable of asking. I tried this location again this year because I get more towards my glasses if I use a visionworks. The appointment went well but when it came to pick up everything that's where they fell short again. I was told everything was ready which included my contacts and sunglasses. Mind you at my appointment they told me that my sunglasses would be ready prior to my contacts because they had the lenses in stock but would call when they had both. I arrived to pick them up and they told me only the contacts were ready and they my glasses wouldn't be ready for another week. Extremely frustrating as this location is out of my way so I made a special trip to pick up what I thought was both items. The lack of communication and customer service is disappointing. I would rather spend a little more for better service and nicer staff. read more

Decided to try Visionworks. I must say it was absolutely the worst experience for my family. The staff is rude and uncooperative from every angle. It was basically an effort for the staff to follow up after weeks of waiting for a trial pair of contacts. When ask for a hard copy of my prescription was told No. That I must use their trial pair before they could release one. I am currently still waiting. I will never return nor would I ever recommend them to anyone read more

Just got back from my appointment. I highly recommend this location! I was assisted by Alexis and she was wonderful to work with. I had an issue with payment but the staff was very understanding and patient while I figured my situation out. Everyone was so friendly and efficient. Was excited to pick up me new glasses and sun glasses. Vision in sunglasses was completely off. Kurt tried to get me to keep from for a day. No. The vision is completely wrong. Kurt said his manager would tell me the same thing. I again said no. He walked away. He took another customer. I asked him are you done helping me? The regural glasses werent adjust or anything yet. He said the manager will be over. Then he said ok well what do you need. I said no by all means you take care of the other customer. He then says Yikes and rolles his eyes at me. Explanation of benefits and promotion, HORRIBLE! We were told that there was a second pair of glasses ordered at the time of purchase. When I called a month later to check on the status, I was told there was no order for a second pair. I spoke with the manager who spoke to me like I was a nuisance. I explained how the order was explained to me, but he didn't care. I told him that this was our first time at any Visionworks, and that it would be our last because the people at both ends, sales and manager, were a disappointment! I think he hung up before I did! The moment I walked in I was greeted and asked how they could help me. I was quickly brought back to my eye exam after filling out a short form. The doctor was quick, kind and thorough. After the exam I went to go pick out my frames. Every employee in the store gave me their opinion when I asked! If someone I was working with someone else and wasn't available someone else would jump in. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. Once I decided on the frames Jazmin helped me with the purchase of my glasses. She was very honest and didn't try to take advantage of me and sell me certain upgrades that she knew I didn't need. In the end I wound up spending less than what we originally thought I would have to spend!!! To top it all off, my appointment was at 11:15 and my glasses were ready to be picked up at 3:00pm the same day!!!!!!! Unbelievable service and employees. What an amazing experience! I am ashamed to be required to even give this sh*thole even a one star rating. Went into this place THREE different times to try to get them to do their jobs. I was lied to on multiple occasions, horrible trashy attitudes, and lack of education from practically anyone who works here. I was informed that my insurance company would pay for contacts AND glasses, come to find out that my insurance company only covered glasses. Thanks for the lie there, As*Works! Optometrist inspected my eyes for less than 10 minutes, lol, could have had a random druggie on the street to do a better job... Then when I come to get my contacts, front desk weirdo told me the same story about insurance and coverage (even though I spoke to insurance company twice before I went back in). So if you want crappy service, bad attitudes, and non-educated BS, go to as*Works! BTW- contacts do not fit, never had that happen in the 20 years i've been wearing contacts. BUYER BEWARE, they will try to sell you products ie glasses, even when it's not in your interest to get them financially. I went here because my eyeglasses had snapped in two.The ad said I could get glasses in a day or two.There was a 40% off coupon. So off I went. The glasses seemed awfully expensive to me, but the alleged discount brought it down somewhat and I thought I'd pay it in view of the quick replacement time. Then the salesman dropped on me that I could not get the new glasses in a day or two because my lenses were not in stock, because they were "unusual". I had never heard that in the 45 years I have had glasses. Worst of all, I got the glasses a week later and while on vacation a month later, the arm broke off the new glasses, as I was doing nothing more strenuous that drinking a glass of juice. Because I was away, I just taped them back together and went to the VisionWorks once I returned. I asked the same salesman if he could please fix them.He said they were not fixable and I'd have to pay for a new pair at 97.00. He told me I only had 60 days guarantee. There was nothing on my receipt stating that. I point that out and he just stared at me. The place I normally get my glasses when I do not have an emergency always fixes the glass frames for free or for a small service charge, if they break, no matter how old they are.I would never, ever trust VisionWorks again with any eyeglass purchases.Any "promise" they make is worth nothing.They do not deliver on any of it.Their coupon is a rip off too. They jack up the price and then pretend you got a 40% savings when you pay the lower price. I went online after they refused to fix the frames and found the frames at half of what I was charged, with the 40% coupon applied. read more
