I recently purchased a pair of glasses at Visionworks. When I first arrived, I was greeted with a smile and a warm welcome from Sophia, the Optical Tech. I expressed my need for a new pair of glasses and Sophia directed me to the appropriate section. As I was perusing the many selections I had questions and wanted some advice. My two pair of glasses were promised 3/8 at the latest. I stopped into this location to see if ready since it's never taken that long before.... Told each time someone would work on my glasses first thing the next day and yet when I called again they weren't ready and told they would be done first thing next day next day.... Next day get a text and only one pair of glasses are ready.... When I go in hours later to pick them up thinking they would both rely be ready since these glasses were ordered at same time for the same person but there was only one pair.... The clerk, Johanna, told me multiple times that she needed to explain to me why it was taking so long.... I told her I'd been told the same thing multiple times and I didn't need a lesson in how to make glasses. I was told the lense cutter was out for a week... so after a week of nothing setting done they bring in someone from another store. Makes sense to wait that long before you realize people are going to be wondering about their glasses. When I was speaking with this person and I was clearly agitated about being told twice my glasses would be done first thing, Johanna informed me I was rude.... Well your service is poor. They offered for me to wait 20 minutes and I could have my second pair finished but I had other timely obligations and she laughed at me when I said I couldn't wait and she said it was only 20 minutes. I informed her it's been two weeks two days and now you want me to wait yet again. Please do not waste your time with this establishment. The quality of their frames are pretty poor as well. Staff are snippy and pretty confident that they can do no disservice. read more

One thing I was concerned about was if I needed additional testing or services from a specialist. They have a referral network and work with specialists if necessary. Not so good customer service. Made an appointment for an eye exam. I arrived five minutes early. Two employees working with one customer at front register. I wait 10 minutes, and at five minutes after my appointment I ask the employee at the front desk and the other at the back desk (which has a large "eye appointments here" sign), "Do I need to check-in for my eye appointment"? Both employees say I need to check-in for my eye appointment at front desk after the other customer is finished. I wait, wait, wait... Once the front desk is open I say to the employee I am here to check in for my eye appointment. Both employees say all appoints are cancelled for the day, doctor did not come in, they can reschedule me. :( I was hoping Visionworks was a good place because it's close to my home and on my new insurance. Looks like I need to take the family back to Costco. It's across town but they have a service I can trust. The next day Visionworks sent me an email survey asking about how well my appointment went. They have no idea they canceled my appointment. I don't think I can trust my eyes to the people who run this company. read more

Don't waste your time! Our family of 4 went in for our yearly exam. The doctor was nice, the receptionist was nice, and the guy helping us pick out our glasses was nice. Getting your order and making sure your glasses are correct and fit was a complete nightmare. Two of our 3 pairs of glasses were ready. We show up around 6:30 and the guy behind the counter huffed and puffed like we were putting him out coming in at that time. Asked us repeatedly if we were notified our order was ready, and had to state many times yes. Handed us our glasses, and did not check the fit or make sure we were seeing properly. My daughter had a few concerns about how tight they were and how they fit, but he was not wanting to address them. We were told to give it a week (glasses weren't comfortable, not an issue with the prescription) and we left as he wasn't going to help us. The third pair was to be ready on the 8th, we check in and there is no ETA. Can't get a hold of anyone at the store, and the 800 customer service line had a 20 minute wait hold. We finally get someone and they said the glasses failed inspection and it'll be another 9+ days. No one called or reached out to update us, so I requested a call from the store. No one called us back last night or today so I called the store again and FINALLY got an answer. The lady didn't care and basically said oh well no one updates us so we don't know... How is your process and procedures so broken that you can't provide updates to your customers? We will be cancelling the remaining order, returning the glasses we have and taking our business elsewhere. read more

Went in for a 9 am appointment, filled out all paperwork just to wait for almost an hour to be told my insurance could not be located in the system. I overheard the lady on the phone with the insurance company, but instead of coming directly to me they allowed customers that came in after me, in to see the doctor before even making me aware of any issues. If I could give zero stars I would. Was able to make same day appointment with another Visionworks in Hamilton county right after and they were able to locate my insurance with no problems. read more

Super friendly people who don't have a clue about what they are doing. When I went in I had no idea it would take 4 hours to have 3 eye exams, pick out two pairs of glasses and order contacts. Amazingly enough, the glasses turned out okay! Unfortunately they are totally incompetent when it comes to my contacts. Total disaster. After 2 weeks I called for an update. ..I have gas perm lenses so it's a special order. I was told by person #1 they were in but wrong. She'd call me back. 7 hours later, I called back. Person #2 said they were swamped and handled 50 calls in 2 hours and yes, my contacts were not right. She'd have someone call me. Person #3 told me they were ordered wrong. He'd have someone call me. Person #4 said no refund, they'd reorder for me. TOTAL INCOMPETENCY. I just want a refund. Let me go somewhere where they have a clue. Don't go here. Save yourself the headache. Still no contacts, no hope that they know what they are doing and will most definitely screwed by this company. read more

The entire process was so easy. Scheduled my appointment online and was able to get exactly what I wanted. Dr Kassenbrock was great and explained everything clearly. The doctor allowed me to try two different trials until I found the prescription that worked best for me. Also got some nice Ray Ban glasses. read more

I got my new glasses from Vision works and I love them so much they have a comfortable fit and they are a very well kept place with very nice glasses. They do have a wide variety of frames and different colors. They eye doctor I had is wonderful and she was very nice to be around. They also have many deals and sales for sunglasses and every thing. I recently switched to VisionWorks after changing insurance. We have a large family of ten and this location was great at accommodating all of us. I'll start by saying that the online scheduling system was so great. There are plenty of appointments available so we were able to get several of us in at similar times for our convenience. I wasn't able to get the online paperwork link to open up at all, but that could've just been an issue with my phone...regardless, paperwork just took a couple of minutes when we arrived. Our kids range in age from 5-17 and the staff were so great to all of them, adjusting their interactions as appropriate based on their age group. Even our two youngest had no problems getting dilated. The selection is pretty good and on par with LensCrafters (which is where we were before). Most products came in between 5-7 days. The best part about this location (other than the appointment availability being so great) was the way that the salesmen were able to work with us to combine all three of our vision insurances to get the best combination of glasses and contacts for each of our family members - this really kept our out of pocket expenses to a minimum. All in all we walked away with 4 contact orders and 5 pairs of glasses (and we still have two appointments to go!). Very happy - highly recommended. read more

I had the worst experience at this store. I will Never go to this store or any in their chain again. My initial appointment took an hour when they had promised me 20 minutes. Ordering glasses and contacts took another 2 and a half hours. They were very unprofessional and were not trained well. When I was in the store, there were 2 other customers being helped and the person helping me was the only person who knew how to do things. She had to keep stopping to help the other 2 workers. Thus, why I was there 2 and a half hours. I finally got my glasses 2 weeks later but it took them almost 2 months to get my contacts! There was a rebate I was eligible for but I had to wait on the store to send me the form. After repeatedly calling them and having them promise me that someone would call me (and didn't), after making many trips to the store, I finally got my form to mail in. read more

Relatively new store in the area, so I decided to give them a shot. First impression was that the place was understaffed with only one person working plus the doctor. Two ladies complacently arrived within a half hour after I had been there, possibly late to work(?), later talking about male strippers(?) Not very professional. I liked their Nike line enough to bite the bullet and buy eyeglasses and a pair of sunglasses. I was quoted $485 total for both pairs after the "buy one get one free" promotion plus a $45 coupon. When the sales person went to ring it up, the price came to over $100 more than quoted. According to the sales associate, the price in their books was not reflective of a price increase within the computer. As disappointed as I was with the overall experience, I liked the Nike eyeglasses enough to buy them; I declined purchasing the sunglasses though. For the single pair, the promotion was 40% off, and apparently the $45 coupon no longer applied to only one set of glasses. Apparently the supervisor could not override the computers pricing. I spent considerably more at $314 for a single pair of glasses, than the two each at $242.50. Meanwhile, while all of this is going on, the doctor brought up petty cash to buy pizza for the crew; maybe enough to cover the associates mistake? Regardless, I left disappointed. I called corporate to share my experience. Their solution was to sell me both at the original price quoted. I have to wait for the GM to call, schedule an appointment, go back in and repurchase to accomplish this. While I do not expect anything for free, I do not consider this offer much of an apology considering it's what I was told I'd be paying to begin with, the additional time I need to focus on what should be an easy purchase, and another days delay in my glasses being shipped for pickup. I suppose I'll update this review upon returning to make the original purchase I wanted, but quite the hassle regardless. The only real good to come of this is that, oddly, when I got off the phone with customer service, I noticed another error on my receipt -- they failed to sell me the warranty I wanted and was quoted -- at least I'll get that fixed. Needless to say, there are better retail options out there within .5 miles of this location.
