After a horrible experience at the place over by the old WalMart, I decided to bring my old frames in and get the new prescription put in the old (beloved/awesome) frames; I've done this before and had no bad experiences, but last year in Covid-paranoia land they wouldn't do it. But his year they would. yay! Wearing a mask, so my glasses are all foggy, I went in, had a very nice experience with the young lady who helped me pick out all the things I needed - like, these frames require the polycarbonate lenses, scratch-insurance, etc. My glasses will be ready BY the 30th. Great. So I get an email, a text, a call, an SMS message -- all telling me my new glasses are in. EARLY Hot Diggity Dog!. I go to the mall, all the stores on that side are closed; quite the creepy walk. They open the glasses-case. Not My Quite Expensive Frames! Not only Not My Glasses, they're some dude's horrible 70s-era-looking huge clunky things. Bill Haverchuck wore these in Freaks&Geeks, I think! Now I'm upset. They tell me they'll look with the lab, (no on-site lab anymore, sux) the other stores all over the state. They WILL find my glasses. Nope. 3 days later, the store manager calls me, says come in pick out new frames, they'll express my glasses. Guaranteed still by the 30th. I got a call Saturday Morning (the 30th), they "found" my old glasses, come get them. I get there... not my old frames, new Rx in the Technolite frames I'd picked out on Wednesday. It's nice that I now have glasses I can wear without getting a headache, but I don't really appreciate being lied to. So, overall. I got glasses I can wear, but they LOST my frames then lied to me about finding them. read more

The AI operator told me I had two appointments at the same time, but when I came in the front desk told me my appointment was cancelled. I drove an hr to make it to this appointment & all I got was a "sorry you can reschedule". read more

The contact exam and prescription was not right. I put them on and wasn't able to see. I had a few contacts left from an old prescription that I was able to see out of now I'm on my last pair. The doctor said they aren't able to fix the error because its been a few months! Im sorry if my everyday career requires me to be at work and drive several hours to visit a mistake by the doctor. Now I'm out of contacts, insurance to do another corrective exam and I don't trust the glasses prescriptions. Last year's prescription to this year is way off and I know my eye doesn't get better from 3.5 to a 2.5? Makes no sense. read more

I went in here and 3 people were at the counter and nobody said a word to me. So I just start trying on glasses. Then a man walks in and all the employees jump to help him. Then another man came in and same thing. While I was virtually ignored for a full 15 minutes. I just need a pair of glasses and an eye exam. Guess it's not gonna happen here. Very poor customer service and will not return calls, last message I left is I wanted to get a refund on my order. Have not heard a word' they have some very talented people there I could not get my glasses adjusted to stay on my head at other store so went to Visionworks and an employee by the name of Al Fanso adjusted them and was very easy to work with so I ordered last years pair from them and got them right a way. This year I even went back to get my eyes checked and order a new pair which I did at a cost of over $522.00 this was on April 10th and they didn't come in so checked on line and it kept saying order pending after a number of phone calles they informed me I would not get them until May 21 so I called over to talk to Al Fanso and they said he' call right back that was early yesterday and I told them I wanted to get my money back still have not heard a word from them. read more

I showed up early to my appointment to make sure I was good to go for the doctor at my appointment time. I have been sitting in the exam room waiting for Dr. Lott for over an hour. The front desk told a patient that the wait time would be about 30 minutes. This is ridiculous. Then after my exams, I was told all I needed was reading glasses. I wanted to give a review based on my experience compared to many negative reviews, I had my doubt! I wanted an eye exam and a good selection of frames as my main choice, I made an appointment which was a few weeks away but that was ok because everywhere was like this, they welcome me professionally and exam was met on time, the selection of glasses took time as I need to make sure I am getting what fits, and looks good, the team was very helpful and patient while choosing, this entire process took time so do not feel like your going to get in and out with the snap of your impatient fingers which many of you have lol So glasses purchase had insurance which helps there is extra cost for transition, all that stuff but that is normal plus being in flag cost more overall if you take the time get a exam shop for glasses either here or go somewhere else I received a service I expected Thanks read more

I had an appointment last night for an annual exam and contact lenses. The office manager, Peggy, was extremely patient and kind with me, even though I was the last customer of their day and was struggling with taking in/out contacts for the very first time. I can't express how much I appreciate somebody taking their time with me and not making me feel rushed or getting frustrated that I didn't get the hang of the contacts right away. I also saw the new eye doctor, Thomas Gall, for the first time, and had the same positive experience with him. I have taken my family to Visionworks in the Flagstaff Mall for about 9 years. It originally stood out in a positive manner because they had an in-store lab that could get your glasses made within the same day (if they had the supplies). We were able to meet and interact with Jordan. She is polite, professional, and always willing to help. We have dealt with Jordan for years and she has never let us down. Always helpful and always mindful of costs. My daughters and wife enjoyed interacting with her. Well, we went recently (August 2020) to Visionworks and discovered that Visionworks was bought by VSP and they no longer operate the in-house lab. So the original reason (in-store lab) why Visionworks stood out is no longer there. We would need to wait for the glasses to be made and sent to the store, a little over 2.5 weeks for one pair, and a little longer for the other pair. What made this last experience even less pleasing is that we had ordered a year supply of contacts for one of my kids and a month after the order, still no contacts and so I called and asked about the contacts. I was later informed that they were not ordered by the staff. An apology was given and they stated that it would take up to 10 days to get them in, but I would be contacted when they do. 10 days later, since I did not receive a phone call I called and I was informed that the contacts were in. So we were finally done with this year's glasses and contacts for the kids, but I think I am done with Visionworks. Again Jordan is Great, she is a Rock Star, but this experience has left me a desire to try another place next year. read more

This place has really gone down hill. I understand how understaffed and overworked employees are in 2021, but this was ridiculous. I had been coming here the past 10 years. Today will be my last visit. Almost all the staff are fairly new and the receptionist was awful. A simple eye exam, which had taken me no longer than 45 minutes in the past now takes an hour and a half. When I told them I had to leave to meet a client of mine at work with whom I had an appointment with. She told me she "couldn't let me leave until I checked out." I pretty much responded by telling her I was going to leave at 15 after regardless of the situation. Their computer system was slow and ineffective (which is not the employees fault), service was awful accept for the optometrist, and they overcharged my insurance. I'm sure they don't care about losing a long time customer since they are all fairly new, but I will take my business and my families, friends elsewhere. read more

I've been going to Visionworks for several years. Have always had helpful & friendly staff assist my kids and I. The store managers have always gone above & beyond for my family. Marcy & Peggy are great! I always seem to run out of contacts when I'm away from Arizona. Thanks to Peggy I was able to get my contacts within 3 days, I called on a Saturday afternoon, was on hold for 10 minutes, no biggie. I desperately needed contacts so I had to be patient! Paid for overnight delivery, I did not expect the contacts to be delivered on a Sunday so I let that go. And by Tuesday morning... I had boxes of contacts delivered to me in Nevada! Had a appointment on Saturday at the Flagstaff branch in the mall. Drove 2 hours from where I'm located in Page, Az. Showed up 5 minutes before my appointment. So I went to the bathroom on the other side of the mall. Came back 5 minutes after 9:00am which I was then told I was late and my appointment would have to be rescheduled to 11:00am. I was fine with that but frustrated. Did the eye exam and got glasses picked out. Price was decent with insurance. I then asked that the pair of glasses be shipped to where I live in Page. A couple of days go by and the glasses where shipped through UPS. Visonworks never gave me a tracking number for UPS. I called two days after my expected arrival date. Nothing so I call them to get a shipping number but then was informed that there was no shipping number on hand. I waited another couple of days and still nothing. Called then again and was told by a manager I believe that she will call me back in 5 minutes. She never got back to me that night. So now I call back this morning and was told the same thing. No tracking number on file and the guy told me to hold for 10 minutes. It was about 8 minutes in when the call got dropped. I then proceeded to call again. The lady told me the guy I was talking to was by himself and was very busy so he couldn't get back to me. She then puts the weight of the problem into UPS and where I live. She advises me to wait till tomorrow then nothing tomorrow which is Friday. Wait till Monday. This will be the last time I ever go to Visonworks again. This company's lack of training towards employeees customers service and proper procedures towards shipping glasses out of town is horrible. Please people is you don't want you time and money wasted DO NOT GO TO VISONWORKS. read more

I've been coming to this Visionworks location for the last 12 years, for not only myself, but my entire family as well. I was, however, very disappointed with my experience today. I recently had eye surgery and was very excited to get some new glasses. When I went into the store, I was greeted nicely. I was given a tray to use while trying on glasses. I was under the impression this was so that the glasses could be cleaned before being put back on display. Much to my surprise, the third pair were so filthy that I couldn't even see out of the demo lenses. I brought this up to the young ladies working the counter and it was then that they informed that they only clean the glasses at the end of the day. I find that even hard to believe with how dirty this pair was. What really bothers me is that no one seemed to care when I brought this up. As an individual with underlying medical conditions, although vaccinated and wearing a mask, I feel that this isn't a great way to handle things. Glasses are placed directly on a persons face as I'm sure everyone is aware. I have no way of knowing what the health was of the person(s) who handled these frames prior to me placing them on my face. In addition, when I brought up that I had health issues, I was actually expecting them to offer to clean the frames for me so that I could continue with my selection process/purchase. I was mistaken, I guess that would have been too much to ask. They didn't even care that I left the store without making a purchase. By the way, they couldn't even use the excuse of they were busy because I was the only one in the store at the time. read more

Came here rather than Sams club vision center bc the frame options( which are great) very very disappointed with the lenses. My sunglass lenses are See through and not much darker lens than normal glasses . So ugly . I won't go back . read more

The Manager couldn't find my insurance info on the web site , than she let another associate try and same thing she said " Call your HR . I left to Target eye center and was treated so much better and my insurance was found easily with no issues !! I will never go to Visionworks again . read more

I would give zero stars if I could. Made an appointment with them a couple of weeks ago so that I could bring all 5 of my kids in for eye exams while they were on spring break. When I asked if they accepted our insurance they stated that they did. What they neglected to tell us was that they are out of network which brought our coverage li.its down by nearly two thirds. They get you in the door with their sales, but after you get your glasses picked out and they add bells and whistles it was the most expensive glasses I've ever purchased. $700 for two pairs of glasses and one pair of sunglasses. The last time I got 2 pairs of glasses and a 90 day supply of contacts at Sam's it was $295. The two stars is for the good customer service I received from the first two people that helped me. Sarah helped after I'd picked everything out and I do not remember the name of the nice young native guy that helped when I came to pick up my regular glasses. The other young man that helped me when I came to pick up my sunglasses acted like he would have rather been anywhere but there. He didn't even clean them for me and they were all smudged when I tried to wear them on my way home. All in all the experience wasn't horrible, but the price was pretty surprising. Right from the beginning the saleswoman Jordan was informative, attentive and honest about costs and the quality of the different options.
