Rude, Rude, RUDE!!! they are just plain rude, go there only because they except my insurance and, are within walking distance since i don't drive. Had a worker hit on my wife in front of me, another lied and told me she was the manager when she wasn't. Got glasses that were not the right script, and really had workers argue with me over it, and did not honor their return policy. Took my kids their also and it took for ever to get our glasses back and they did not call or text us to let us know our glasses were in. one worker answered the phone and asked me to hold placed phone on counter while talking to another customer and I heard this customers name, address, date of birth, phone number, credit card info and Insurance information. Can you sat HIPPA violation. They can't seem to get it together I wouldn't even advice my worst enemy to go there. read more

NEVER, go to a fly by night corporate facility for glasses! They have no clue what they are doing there! Go to an optometrist! Trust me as I say these words are true! I have seen a lot of reviews on customer service....what about the eye doctor that knows absolutely nothing! They are the rejects that could not get a job as a real optometrist! Two times I went back for glasses that were wrong only ending up returning them as well. What a waste of time! I went through the usual which one looks better 1 or 2, 1 or 2, 1 or 2, then the doctor shows me the final product through the eye machine and its all blurry! Now, I have been wearing glasses for 25 years. Every time the Doctor is done with the 1 or two thing the end result is that the eyes work great! Crystal clear oh no not this Dr. I asked her when she was done examining why the end result was all blurry, she told me that is the way she does her exams. Excuse me??????? Really? The person out front told me the same thing as i was leaving. OK blind faith. Got the first pair, made my eyes water and hurt. Went back and was told they didn't line up my eyes right so they made another pair. Went back again and now they were all blurry! Worst than before! Worse than my present pair that needed replaced....What?!!!! Then she looks at my prescription and tells me that the Doctor turned my prescription down not up. What!!!!!???? are you serious? So they are telling me my eyesight got better? I am a diabetic wearing blended Bifocals. Then they told me that as yyou get older your far vision gets better. What????????????????? Go to a real Eye Specialist people! I have been screwing around with these clowns for 3 plus weeks and have nothing to show for it. Lets see how long the refund takes. I see that a number of the reviews of this Visionworks are very mixed, either excellent or poor. Based on my experience here, I can see both sides so let me break it down for you... Tyrone. I had been walking around for probably 20 minutes with no assistance and was approaching my last eyeglass wall. I was holding three pairs of glasses in my hands and had been standing near three or four other associates without a word of acknowledgment. Tyrone asked if I needed help and was amazing to work with. He's very soft-spoken but friendly, helpful, willing to go the extra mile, and willing to admit when he's wrong. I really enjoyed working with him. I picked up my glasses yesterday and all was good to go. I attribute the smooth process to him. Selection. I hadn't been to a Visionworks in years, and what I last remembered was just a very value-driven, bargain-basement assortment. However, that was not at all my experience here today. No, they don't carry the Prada and the Burberry that Lenscrafters does, but they do have Ray-Ban, Michael Kors, L.A.M.B., etc. I looked around for about 20 minutes and had to use process-of-elimination to make my final selections. Customer Service. Outside of my very positive experience with Tyrone, I was very underwhelmed by the staff at this location. If I could give 0 stars I would. I went for an exam and was going to order two pair of glasses. I noticed my benefits debit card was expired so I had to reorder one and the young lady told me to just call with my card information to order it. Customer service here is a joke. I must've called 8-10 times, but only spoke to someone three times. Otherwise I was on hold then hung up on. First person I talked to said she couldn't help me and would have someone call me back at 11:30. The call never came, so I tried again and again. After several attempts, someone picked up said I could pay then was on hold so long the line hung up on me. Got through after several more attempts and of course they put me on hold again. I decided I will give my money to another business that cares about all their patients, not just the ones in the store at the time. Would never recommend or go back to Visionworks. If you're unable to keep up with patients calling, maybe it's time for management to look into other solutions. As a consumer I feel the experience with a business I am giving money to is paramount. They were helpful and friendly. Prior to the appointment they explained everything including prices to me. This has never happened before so I'm grateful. The Doctor was thorough and explained in detail why they did certain tests and why some would be beneficial to me. The staff was very friendly and thorough as well. I have had been over sold in the past and was weary, this was NOT the case today. I'm happy that they listened to me and were respectful of my time and money. I wouldn't even give that rating if I had the choice First of all stopped by on a Saturday nite around 6.30 noting the closing was at 7 pm. I'm a fast buyer so I settled on a name brand for progressive lenses Then the trouble started. Was told by the manager they were leaving at 7 pm so to make the choice fast or come back tomorrow. Wtf Anyhow I did say that I had 50-50 luck with progressive in fitting but she assured me no problem and did the measurement, and since my vision insurance was reserved from a previous optician, to call in the following Monday to unreserved the insurance amount so they could settle the bill and I could pay my amount Round 2. Called back on following Monday since I didn't hear back about charging my card and drove in and found out that since the manager was out that took my order and apparently left no notes to settle the bill and place the order to the lab, nothing was done for that past week. Hence bill was charged and eyeglasses ordered. Round 3 got glasses week later did not work for computer screen was told to take home and work with them Round 4 came back 2 days later and requested refitting ..manager assured correct measurement but she recommended the upgrade for$100 more for a better fit which I did ..Round 5 ..got second pair of eyeglasses and although a littler clear could not focus on intermediate screen. Again told to take home and try out Round 6 ...now pissed and went to optometrist who promptly looked at my current eyeglasses and Visionworks and found that the Visionworks eyeglasses didn't match up to my current eyeglasses. Round 7 returned Visionworks for full refund .. at round 5, manager did assure me I could get full refund or get a reading distance pair and one for the computer wtf. Anyway the employee at round 7 processed for a full refund and didn't seem concerned about me returning the glasses for a full refund since this must be an often occurrence. Had a good experience from start to finish. Went for my first ever eye exam! since they had a $10 promotion going on and my insurance doesn't cover for it. Since I've never had to deal with eye issues, I don't have anything to compare this to, but I will say that if I have concerns down the road, I'm coming to this place. I booked my appt online- it was very easy to make, cancel and reschedule. I was taken in at my appt time, everything was explained in advance, no surprises. The staff was friendly and professional. Explaining the extras was done appropriately and I didn't feel they were being pushy. They have a large selection of frames, scored on another promo. As soon as people walked in, they were being helped. There's ample parking, and if you have to wait for a prescription, there's the rest of the waterfront shops and eateries to pass the time. read more

After my third visit for three consecutive years at this location, I find myself having the same complaints year after year. Many of the people who work at the front desk are extremely unpleasant. I have never been greeted with a warm welcome and I've had every issue from trying to tell me I don't have insurance when I am standing there reading the policy number to being disrespected. Today, when I told the woman that I never received a phone call yesterday regarding my appointment, she responded "uh yes you did..." I don't appreciate attitude when I was simply just sharing my side of the story. Usually the doctors themselves are very friendly, I have no problem with my prescriptions, and I like their selection of glasses. I just hope that soon they give their customer service a makeover. read more

I don't know the name of the doc I saw but I was thoroughly underwhelmed by my experience with her. I can appreciate that they see many patients & can't spent indefinite time with each of us. But I was quickly rushed through my appointment (a fast round of "which is clearer" never revealed a line that truly looked clear to me) & she then dismissed me without even telling me the results (my prescription somehow "stayed the same" for both distance and reading despite the appt only lasting around three minutes). Most upsetting to me is that last year, my previous optometrist at a different practice added a prism to my prescription to help with focusing. I had wanted to check what I currently have against different strengths (like I had last year) to see if I needed a stronger/weaker prism. She adamantly refused to check it in the office & told me just to order my glasses without a prism and have the lenses replaced later if I decide I want it back, essentially me just guessing strengths & paying/waiting for new lenses each time. Her reasoning? "It's different checking it here in the office than it is wearing it around every day" .. even though "checking it in the office" is what got me a prism in the first place. I've had glasses for many years & this is my worst appointment ever. I won't be coming back. read more

-The lady optomologist rushed me through my appt. -My script was wrong twice and the progressive perspective was at the very bottom of the lens making it unusable. -My optomologist called them twice and they have no record of the conversation on file. This is a business that provides medical services. My eye sight is important to me but not to them. The GM has no urgency to return my call, let me walk out of the store without being helped and never called my optomologist like she said she would. -They have company policies but can't tell you the reasoning behind them. A policy should have a reason otherwise they are just a parent telling their kids, 'because I said so'. -Young culture (expect the attitude, entitlement, lack of social queues, good customer service, immaturity, and ignorance that comes along with it). -I was on hold with the Corp office for 30 min, then another 10 and their chat for over 25 min before I gave up. Very disappointed in the customer service I have received at this location in the past two months. Today being the absolute worst. Called 7 times between the hours of 5 p.m. and 730 p.m. on a Thursday. 3 times no one even answered, it went straight to an automated system that you can't even leave a message. Two times, I was put on hold, once for 14 minutes and once for 5 minutes before giving up and hanging up the phone. Called back a 6th time and after 2 rings, got an automatic message saying they were closed. The 7th time I actually got through to someone and I could tell JC the manager was just annoyed with me. I will no longer use this Visionworks at Homestead and go to Colleen at the South Hills Village location. She has rectified the problems I've had in the past with the Homestead location so I will continue to go there for her customer service. read more

I went there back in February for an eye exam and to get contact lenses .I did not like the contact lens that was prescribed to me. made a another appt to see another doctor there so i did and was told that the contact lenses were out of stock.they were going to order them waited a few weeks no call from them to tell me they were in .So i go back to see what the hold up was .GUESS WHAT STILL WAITING ON CONTACT LENSES THAT NEVER CAME IN I WILL BE GOING SOMEWHERE ELSE.they are not helpful rude eye doctors as well as some of the staff read more

I contacted Visionworks customer service about the issues I experienced. I was later contacted by the manager of the store, Courtney, who apologized and asked me to come back in so they could make things right. I agreed and I'm so glad I did. Courtney was fantastic and fixed everything so I was charged the amount I was quoted. She never questioned anything and was apologetic about my prior experience. Couldn't have asked for a better followup experience and I plan to go back to them next year. read more

A few days ago I went to put my reading glasses on and they essentially fell apart breaking at the nose bridge. I was very surprised because when I purchased them from Visionworks I asked for the wire frames that can be bent in all directions without breaking. They cost a little more but I was led to believe they were unbreakable. After a miserable experience at another eyeglass place trying to get them repaired at the time they broke 3 Guys, right across the street from where I worked and I needed them right away since my job is working at the computer and I cannot read the screen without them), I decided to take the frames and lenses back to the place I originally purchased them Visionworks. I had to reverse the insurance allotment charged at the first place and apply it to Visionworks. When I got to Visionworks I was helped by a woman named June who had no people skills at all. She was very terse and barked out orders like "Who's the primary", "Who's the primary", getting annoyed when I did not respond immediately. I finally realized what she was asking and she looked my insurance up on the computer. She told me that I could not get any insurance help for frames until 2016. I said that is impossible I just reversed the allotment from another store, so I should have $135 toward the frames. I finally called the insurance company myself. I was told that it takes 48 to 72 hours for a reversal to occur. Now come on the insurance company has a website, internet bandwidth and there is this new thing that was invented called databases, I cannot understand why it will take that long to get insurance charges reversed. Now even though I need my glasses to work, I have to find another eyeglass store and it will take around 2 weeks to get new frames. No effort was made at Visionworks to help me in this dilemma in any way, even though we have purchased at least a half a dozen glass frames and lenses there over the years. If you want a miserable customer experience go to this place. I will never go again. read more
